I Can Stock Up in the Game

Chapter 95: Chapter 83: Won No Matter What

”Uncle, you promised me I could come work at your farm for the summer!” Fu Yao quickly reminded him.

”Oh, right. No problem!” Zhang Lin had just remembered. He had indeed made that promise when he used her as a shield to deal with his mom. It had just slipped his mind for a moment.

Fu Yao was instantly overjoyed. ”Uncle, I’ll come report to you as soon as my exams are done.”

Zhang Lin smiled. ”Okay. I’ll hire you as a designer for the new campground. I’m really looking forward to seeing your designs.”

”Don’t worry, Uncle. I’ll give it my all,” Fu Yao quickly promised. After hanging up, she picked up a book on water and electrical layouts and started reading again.

It was the weekend, so besides studying for her exams, she also had to read up on design. The last time, her uncle had tactfully implied her drawings were worthless, so she was determined to cram and redeem herself. ’I can’t lose face like that again.’

Still, the information on plumbing and electrical work would take some time to digest.

After all, she didn’t want to do a half-hearted job. This was a rare opportunity.

「At the farm.」

After hanging up, Zhang Lin watched from the side as Liu De mixed the five catties of special fertilizer into a small plot of land.

The required amount of fertilizer varied depending on the soil, but generally speaking, even for the poorest quality, thirty catties would be enough for one mu.

Zhang Lin didn’t know how effective this special game-produced fertilizer was, so using the standard ratio of thirty catties per mu was a safe bet. With five catties, he could fertilize one-sixth of a mu.

”Boss, this fertilizer seems... special,” Liu De said with some surprise.

”You can tell just by looking?” Zhang Lin asked, surprised.

Liu De explained, ”I can’t tell the specifics, of course, but it’s clearly not your average coarse manure. That much is obvious.”

Zhang Lin nodded. ’That’s experience for you.’

The employees recruited through the game were very experienced in this regard.

He himself couldn’t have told the difference.

After Liu De finished fertilizing the experimental plots, he went to the fast-growing, white-fleshed sweet potato field to cut vines.

Because they were a fast-growing variety, the field was already a lush, vibrant green.

To transplant them, you just had to cut the vines and plant them. Thanks to the hardiness of sweet potatoes, they would root and sprout on their own, becoming new plants.

He knew how to plant sweet potato slips, so by working together, they quickly finished planting the new plots.

When he got back to the prefabricated building, the twenty newly recruited farmhands were already settled in, waiting for him to assign them tasks.

Zhang Lin called Liu De into the office in the building, printed out a map of the core area, and handed it to him. ”Have the new farmhands you’re supervising build a wall around this core area...” he instructed.

Liu De nodded, took the map, and left the building to lead the new workers to their task.

Afterward, Zhang Lin mounted Bailong and rode over to the Bamboo Culture Park to check on things. A good number of tourists had already found their way there.

His sudden appearance on a white horse certainly drew a lot of attention from the visitors.

”Li Yuan Farm has horses? That horse is gorgeous.”

”And the rider is handsome, too!”

”Totally!”

”...”

When Zhang Lin walked around Li Yuan Farm on his own, he didn’t draw much attention from tourists. But riding Bailong was a different story; he was truly a sight to see.

When he arrived at the laser engraving room, he saw Wang Yu engraving inscriptions onto bamboo products for a couple of tourists.

A director from the Tourism Bureau was here doing grunt work.

Zhang Lin had originally planned to assign a few service staff here, but in the end, he simply gave the job openings to the Tourism Bureau. After all, the laser engraver was simple to use—a foolproof machine that only required basic computer and typing skills.

The Bamboo Culture Park needed more than just staff for the engraving room; it also needed attendants for guiding visitors, handling registration, managing storage, and other similar tasks.

If a tourist impulsively decided to buy a large bamboo piece, these attendants would be needed to handle temporary storage and arrange for shipping.

These service positions, combined with the more than 70 bamboo craftsman roles, directly provided the Tourism Bureau with a round 100 job openings.

To the public and the county government, these were the jobs created by the Tourism Bureau after going through great lengths to secure a partnership with Li Yuan Farm.

As a result, the Bamboo Culture Park became the first project to hire entirely from the general public.

Zhao Han’s team had taken over all recruitment matters, just as they had for the bamboo craftsmen, so the farm didn’t have to worry about it.

Furthermore, for these publicly hired employees, the farm would provide a housing subsidy and let them rent their own places in the county. Those who already lived in the county wouldn’t even need to rent.

Of course, the farm could also arrange for collective dormitories for them later on.

’For future projects outside the core area, I plan to recruit real-world employees using this same model,’ he thought. ’After all, creating more jobs in the real world is, in many ways, better than recruiting game-system employees.’

’The core area, however, must be staffed by the absolutely loyal game-system employees.’

”Boss Zhang!” Wang Yu greeted him as soon as he saw him.

”You’re working hard, Director Wang,” Zhang Lin replied with a smile.

”It’s the least I can do. I’ve gained a lot from this project, too,” Wang Yu said candidly.

After all, thanks to this project, the ”acting” part of his title was about to be removed.

Crucially, the fact that Chen Ting (from Chapter 41) had been taken down was partly thanks to Boss Zhang, which was why he held him in such high regard.

...

Lin Muxue’s team worked quickly. By evening, they had already sent him the promotional video for the Bamboo Culture Park.
