I Can Stock Up in the Game

Chapter 91: Chapter 81: Almost Knelt and Kowtowed

Old Guo and the others quickly finished crafting the fans.

However, at this point, they were still semi-finished. They still needed to be oiled and baked.

The oil helps preserve bamboo products. Once dry, it adds a smooth layer to the surface, prevents aging and pests, and extends the product’s lifespan.

Old Guo and his team took out a bottle of oil from their tools, opened it, then dipped a brush in the oil and started applying it to the bamboo fans.

Like the tools, the oil was provided by the game system. Zhang Lin had also noticed that after the Bamboo Culture Park was built, the procurement market had added these bamboo-crafting tools, equipment, and maintenance oil to its catalog.

Generally, a single coat of this protective oil on the surface was enough. Given the farm’s current visitor numbers, one container would last a very long time.

After applying the protective oil to the bamboo fans, Old Guo and the others switched on a special kiln to the side.

Like a gas stove, the kiln ran on a gas source. It was simple to operate; its main purpose was just to dry the protective oil.

Before long, Old Guo and the other bamboo craftsmen had each completed a fan.

What happens when a bamboo fan with Craftsmanship Appreciation +1 is placed before your eyes?

Bamboo products generally look quite plain, without much color. But when one is so exquisite that it looks like a work of art, it’s a completely different story. It’s on a whole other level.

This was exactly the case for the bamboo fan with its Craftsmanship Appreciation +1 attribute.

Even Old Guo and the others were surprised when they saw the finished products, and they couldn’t help but feel proud. ’We actually made such exquisite bamboo fans this time. Good tools and equipment really are a huge help.’

”It’s so beautiful!” Liu Qian couldn’t help but exclaim.

The other girls nodded in agreement. Since these bamboo fans were made especially for them, they felt they were very meaningful souvenirs.

Lin Muxue’s thoughts ran deeper. She felt the fans crafted this way possessed a sense of cultural heritage; after all, it was a local, traditional handicraft.

’But a feeling is just a feeling,’ she thought. ’It needs to be marketed properly.’

She immediately said to Zhang Lin, ”President Zhang, I feel that with these fans, we can totally market them based on their cultural heritage. They really give off that kind of feeling!”

”That’s a great suggestion, Senior Sister Lin!” Zhang Lin said, intentionally playing along. ’This is clearly the effect of the Bamboo Product Cultural Heritage +1 attribute,’ he thought.

As he spoke, he took a finished bamboo fan and walked towards the center of the Bamboo Culture Park.

Surrounded by the workbenches was another building, a small house with a service window.

Zhao Han, Lin Muxue, and the group of craftsmen including Old Guo followed him inside, only to find the room was filled with machines.

They were all laser engraving machines.

Zhang Lin stepped forward and began operating the machine via its computer terminal. For someone who had studied networking, it was quite simple. Besides, the game in his head provided instructions on how to use it.

A moment later, he placed the bamboo fan under the machine. After a brief flash of laser light, several lines of text appeared on the fan’s guard stick:

”Li Yuan Farm Tourist Souvenir!”

”You City Bamboo Culture Heritage Product!”

”2024...”

”Exclusively for Lin Muxue!”

Once the words were engraved, Zhang Lin handed the fan to Lin Muxue. ”Senior Sister Lin, this fan belongs to you!”

Lin Muxue was surprised to see the words on it. This made it feel even more like a special memento, and it seemed to highlight that sense of cultural heritage even more.

”President Zhang, that simple touch is brilliant,” Lin Muxue said with admiration.

Zhang Lin, however, turned to ask Old Guo, ”Master Guo, how much do you usually sell one of these fans for?”

Master Guo immediately explained, ”Because they’re completely handmade, we usually sell them for 40 yuan. But since the farm is providing the space and the customers, if we sell them for 40 yuan, we’d just need to take 20 yuan.”

Hearing this, Lin Muxue said, ”I feel 40 is too cheap. A bamboo fan of this quality shouldn’t be this cheap. You could sell it for more. After all, for people who are out traveling, those who are going to buy one will buy it even if it’s more expensive, and those who aren’t going to buy one won’t buy it even for 40 yuan!”

Zhang Lin smiled at her. ”So, Senior Sister Lin, what do you think we should sell them for?”

Lin Muxue thought for a moment and said, ”For a fan of this quality, doubling the price shouldn’t be a problem. So, 80 yuan each!”

”Is that really okay?” Zhao Han was surprised.

’Mass-produced bamboo products from a regular factory only cost 10 yuan apiece, and you guys want to sell these for 80?’

’That’s pretty scary.’

Liu Qian and the other girls, however, all chimed in:

”They’ve already come all the way to Li Yuan Farm to have fun, would someone who’s going to buy one really care about 80 yuan? Their travel ticket here cost more than 80 yuan!”

”Not just travel tickets, some might have flown here, which could be ten times 80 yuan!”

”Yeah, it’s so exquisite. If it were us, we’d definitely buy one!”

”That’s right!”

Lin Muxue explained further, ”Although raising the price might deter some tourists who were hesitating about spending 40 yuan, a higher price will make the tourists who do spend the money feel it’s more valuable, and it might even influence the people around them.”

Zhao Han wasn’t stupid. He immediately understood what she meant.

’If that’s the case, this is incredible.’

Although they might lose a few sales from those who would have bought one for 40 yuan, selling one fan now was like selling two and a half of them at the old price.

’I’ve learned something.’

He felt that his old mindset couldn’t keep up with the way modern young people thought. ’This won’t do at all.’
