I Can Stock Up in the Game

Chapter 66: Chapter 64: Zhao Han: This Is the Real Deal

After looking around the farm, he found a really good spot.

The spot was right next to the service center, near the road and the parking lot. It was the corner furthest from the rapeseed Flower Sea and the central planting area.

He remembered this place. Liu De had reported that the soil quality here seemed poor, with a lot of gravel, making it unsuitable for planting. But it would be perfect for building this special Bamboo Culture Park. After hours, people could leave directly from the service center without having to enter the main farm area.

When the time came, they could just fence off the core area from this side.

This special construction scroll still didn’t use up a construction slot. As he chose to build, a phantom image of the special Bamboo Culture Park appeared on the game screen. After placing the phantom building and pressing confirm, a game notification popped up:

[Congratulations! You have spent 5,000,000 to build the special Bamboo Culture Park. The construction team is entering the site. Construction is now in progress...]

As the notification sounded, Zhang Lin saw the remaining support funds instantly drop to zero. The problem was, he had already paid a 60,000 deposit to Huang Tao. Since the support funds weren’t enough, another 60,000 had to be deducted from his personal balance.

A moment later, on the game screen, construction vehicles appeared one by one, and the area was cordoned off with construction tape.

At almost the same time, in the real world, the tourists at the service center saw construction vehicles driving in from outside. They stopped not far from the service center and began to work.

This drew the attention of many tourists.

When Zhang Lin spent all the remaining support funds, the Tourism Bureau quickly got the news.

After confirming the situation, a section chief went to Director Zhao Han’s office to report. ”Director, you asked us to keep an eye on the support funds for Li Yuan Farm. They just paid out the remaining amount.”

Zhao Han didn’t think much of it and said, ”The way that Bamboo Maze construction team is working their tails off, they deserve to be paid first. This shows that both Boss Zhang and the other party are stand-up people. One side works hard, and the other pays promptly.”

’Based on Wang Yu’s reports, the Bamboo Maze will probably be finished within a week.’

He was rather looking forward to it.

If Boss Zhang’s Bamboo Maze could become as popular as the one from the Miao Clan, the Tourism Bureau would even be willing to offer 200,000 in prize money for the first group of tourists who made it out on opening day, just to build up hype for it.

After all, this Bamboo Maze was built under the Tourism Bureau’s support policy, making it the most direct and visible achievement of their You City Tourism Bureau.

’Thinking of this, Zhao Han found it strange. He didn’t know why he had so much confidence in this Boss Zhang.’

But the section chief reported, ”Director, it seems this payment wasn’t for the Bamboo Maze. Wang Yu just said in the group chat that the farm seems to have started another new project. The construction team has moved in, and he’s on his way to check it out. The new payment was for this project.”

”Another project?” Hearing this, Zhao Han stood up instinctively.

Before, they thought Li Yuan Farm was developing projects too slowly and had even urged them to speed up. Who would have thought that now that he had money, the projects would come one after another? They were still focused on the Bamboo Maze, and here he was, quietly launching another new project.

But this was a good thing.

The more projects Li Yuan Farm had, the greater its visitor capacity would be, and the more tourist traffic it could divert from You City’s other attractions.

Therefore, he hoped Li Yuan Farm would have as many projects as possible. He was also very curious about what this new project was.

With this in mind, Zhao Han immediately gave Wang Yu a call. ’Since he went to investigate, he should know what the project is about by now, right?’

As soon as the call connected, he asked, ”Wang Yu, what’s going on with the new project at Li Yuan Farm? Did you find out what it is?”

Wang Yu’s embarrassed voice came through the phone: ”Director Zhao, I went to ask the construction workers, but they just gave me one line: ’Authorized Personnel Only.’ Then they kicked me out!”

Zhao Han was stunned. ”Didn’t you tell them you were from the You City Tourism Bureau?”

Wang Yu said sheepishly, ”I did, but they replied: ’Don’t people from the You City Tourism Bureau understand what ”Authorized Personnel Only” means?’ And then they kicked me out again. I was completely dumbfounded by the question.”

”Uh...” Zhao Han was at a loss for words.

’This construction team Boss Zhang hired certainly sticks to its principles.’

’Yes, very principled!’

Wang Yu added, ”Director Zhao, you should probably just call Boss Zhang and ask him what the project is!”

”I’d better go in person. That way I can get a clearer understanding of the situation and check on the progress of the Bamboo Maze project while I’m at it.” Zhao Han picked up his phone, thought for a moment, then walked out of his office, had someone bring a car around, and headed for Li Yuan Farm.

As soon as he arrived at the Li Yuan Farm parking lot, he called Zhang Lin. The moment the call connected, he asked, ”Boss Zhang, are you at the farm right now?”

”Director Zhao, you’re at the farm? Wait for me in the lounge. I’m in the fields, I’ll be right over.” Zhang Lin hung up and glanced at the peach saplings that had already been planted around him.

These mature honey peach saplings from the game would bear fruit as early as next year’s peach season.

Liu De was leading the farmhands in planting, and they had already put in dozens of trees. The pace was incredibly fast.

After giving Liu De some instructions, he headed toward the service center. In the lounge, he saw Zhao Han already waiting.

”Boss Zhang!” Seeing Zhang Lin, Zhao Han walked forward to greet him, looking rather eager.

Looking at his expression, Zhang Lin smiled and asked, ”Director Zhao, go on. What can I do for you?”

Zhao Han got straight to the point, asking urgently, ”Boss Zhang, I heard you’ve started another new project. What is it?”

Zhang Lin hadn’t expected him to come for this reason. He didn’t hide anything and explained, ”It’s a Bamboo Culture Park!”

”Can you elaborate?” Hearing the words ”Bamboo Culture,” Zhao Han’s interest was piqued. After all, their region was known as the ”Hometown of Bamboo.”

Zhang Lin explained, ”We’re building a park dedicated to the craft of making bamboo products. It will combine You City’s bamboo culture and craftsmanship, leveraging Li Yuan Farm’s visitor traffic to promote it to tourists through souvenirs. This will help visitors understand our city’s bamboo culture and also publicize our bamboo crafting techniques.”

”As for the specifics, we’ll focus on the artistic appreciation of the craft and the depth of its cultural heritage. Our promotions will aim to instill the idea that these are meaningful souvenirs, and we can even foster visitors’ enjoyment through hands-on participation...”

Zhang Lin laid out the details of the Bamboo Culture Park one by one, though he fabricated a different explanation for the game-like ’attributes’.

But when he finished, he found Zhao Han staring at him blankly, his face a mixture of conflict, regret, and disbelief...

’He was absolutely blown away by what Boss Zhang had just described. Had anyone in You City ever thought of promoting the ”Hometown of Bamboo” and its craft in this way?’

’If he succeeded, Li Yuan Farm’s bamboo craftsmanship could stimulate the entire industry in You City, allowing the ”Hometown of Bamboo’s” resources to truly shine.’

’If this plan were presented at a county meeting, even Liu County would pay close attention.’

”Boss Zhang, why didn’t you build this Bamboo Culture Park first?” Zhao Han finally managed to choke out, his face a mask of anguish.
