I Can Stock Up in the Game

Chapter 62: Chapter 62: Renting 1000 More Mu! A Real BMW

Zhang Lin didn’t have to wait long before he saw a line of transport trucks entering through the entrance near the metal-sided building.

The trucks were loaded with saplings.

In his mind, the game interface now also showed transport trucks loaded with saplings.

These were the special, mature honey peach saplings. Their branches and leaves had been trimmed, leaving them bare, but that wasn’t an issue. Once mature saplings were planted, their branches and leaves would grow dense within a year.

After the trucks stopped, the delivery workers began to unload the cargo, placing all the honey peach saplings in one area.

Moreover, these delivery workers were just as aloof as the construction crew. None of them approached him to talk; they just worked in silence, as if he wasn’t even there.

Just then, a car drove in.

Zhang Lin saw Lin Mengxi and three people from the Agricultural Bureau get out of the car. They had probably seen the transport trucks and followed them over out of curiosity.

”Miss Lin,” Zhang Lin said, taking the initiative to greet her.

Lin Mengxi immediately walked over to Zhang Lin and asked curiously, ”Boss Zhang, what kind of saplings are these?”

Zhang Lin gave a somewhat vague reply, ”These are honey peach saplings. They were brought over for a trial planting on the farm!”

”So they really are for honey peaches!” Lin Mengxi said in surprise.

Just moments ago, she and her colleagues had suspected these were the fruit tree saplings for Li Yuan Farm’s specialty fruit.

Now that she knew what the saplings were for, she didn’t want to disturb him any further. After a quick word, she prepared to head to the service center to get ready for the agricultural aid livestream.

However, as soon as she got in the car, she hastily called Director Wei Yuan.

She knew that the director and the rest of the bureau were paying close attention to Li Yuan Farm’s new fruit. They were all hoping that these fruits would be promoted in the future so that they could also be grown in You City.

Wei Yuan was reviewing a document on new-era agricultural development when he received Lin Mengxi’s call. He answered, ”Mengxi, is something going on at the farm?”

Lin Mengxi’s hurried voice came through the phone, ”Director, I have some news to report. Li Yuan Farm is about to start a trial planting of those honey peaches. A large batch of honey peach saplings just arrived.”

”Really?” Wei Yuan was pleasantly surprised by the news.

This was indeed great news. Li Yuan Farm was starting a trial planting. ’If the trial is successful and the results are good, then they’ll probably start promoting it publicly, right?’ he thought.

Now that the You City Agricultural Bureau had established a good relationship with Li Yuan Farm, they would have a chance to collaborate through their connection with Boss Zhang.

That would be a huge benefit.

Thinking about it, he grew excited. Moreover, he knew they had to continue strengthening their relationship with Li Yuan Farm.

...

After Lin Mengxi left, Zhang Lin took one of the honey peach saplings to the warehouse and looked at its description:

[Honey Peach Sapling: Quality 1]

[This is a special honey peach sapling produced by the game. After planting, the fruit it bears will have special attributes: Flavor +1, Texture +1, Sweetness +1!]

[Restriction: The attributes will only take effect when planted within the farm’s boundaries!]

Seeing this description, Zhang Lin was completely relieved. They really would produce honey peaches identical to the ones he had been wholesaling.

As for the restriction, that was par for the course—a simple and practical anti-theft feature.

Next, he began to ponder the issue of planting the honey peach trees.

When planting honey peach saplings, you generally needed to maintain proper spacing between rows and individual trees. You could plant about 100 honey peach trees per mu of land.

He could buy 1,000 saplings a day, which meant he could plant 10 mu.

In other words, if he purchased them continuously for one hundred days, he could plant a 1,000-mu peach orchard.

He decided he would first aim to plant a full 1,000 mu.

However, he didn’t plan to plant the peach orchard within the farm’s current boundaries. He had already developed the existing land into the rapeseed Flower Sea and the Bamboo Maze, and he was starting to grow fast-growing, white-fleshed sweet potatoes in other areas. Therefore, he intended to use the remaining land to develop attractions that could quickly serve the tourism side of the business.

As for the peach orchard, he planned to lease another 1,000 mu of adjacent land for it.

With that in mind, he took out his phone and dialed the number for Wei Yuan, the director of the Agricultural Bureau. If he wanted to lease land, contacting him was definitely the fastest way.

As soon as the call connected, he said, ”Director Wei, sorry to bother you again.”

At the Agricultural Bureau, Wei Yuan was at his computer checking the lease status of a certain area—it was precisely the land of Li Yuan Farm and its surroundings. Hearing Zhang Lin’s words, he immediately laughed and said, ”Boss Zhang, you want to lease more land again?”

Hearing that Wei Yuan had already guessed his intention, Zhang Lin also laughed. ”That’s right. I’m planning to lease another 1,000 mu!”

”No problem. Boss Zhang, just come straight to the bureau. None of the land near Li Yuan Farm has been leased, so you can rent whichever plot you want,” Wei Yuan said immediately, looking at the leasing information on his computer.

After hanging up, he looked at the lease applications for the land surrounding Li Yuan Farm and rejected all of them.

After Li Yuan Farm became popular, many savvy people wanted to lease land next to it for reasons that were self-evident.

The Agricultural Bureau was now naturally reserving all this land for Li Yuan Farm. He had a feeling that sooner or later, Li Yuan Farm would lease all of it.

Back at the farm, Zhang Lin hung up the phone, feeling that Director Wei had known all along he wanted to lease land. It was as if everything had already been prepared for him.

He wasn’t stupid. ’Lin Mengxi must have reported back that Li Yuan Farm was going to do a trial planting of the honey peaches,’ he figured.

With that thought, he put down his phone, intending to head to the county seat, but then he noticed he had a new WeChat message. To his surprise, it was from Fu Yao.
