Longevity by Picking up Attributes in the Battlefield

Chapter 773  Chapter 315: Zhao Feng: If all officials devote themselves, longevity is not unattainable!!

”Otherwise I would never have the chance to recognize you again.”

”And he has always shown a mountain‑deep kindness to your father. Your grandfather entrusted you to him on his deathbed, Zhong Fu has aided us with all his strength; this favor I dare not forget.”

”You must also treat him with the rites due an elder.” Ying Zheng exhorted Zhao Feng.

”A life‑saving grace.”

”Dad, set your heart at ease.” Zhao Feng nodded at once and said.

...

The court session dispersed!

The entire Qin Court was shaken to its core by Zhao Fengʼs words and by the bestowed Tianxuan Sub-Mirror.

Every court minister returned to his mansion with an indescribable feeling.

At this moment.

Every court minister was filled with boundless drive.

After todayʼs court discussion.

They understood one thing: Qinʼs road ahead is very long, and their own road is just as long.

The might of the Tian Xuan Mirror had let them sense the power of an Immortal Magical Treasure.

And Zhao Fengʼs promise to them made their fighting spirit surge even more.

Power.

Transcending the Mortal.

Even longevity!

Who would not desire it?

This!

Perhaps this was the very root of Zhao Fengʼs words today—to rouse the assembled ministers.

Xianyang!

The place of proclamation!

”The Holy Decree descends!”

”By decision of the First Emperor, by mandate of the Crown Prince.”

”Now.”

”Shenzhou is unified, and under Heaven all things wait to be restored.”

”We of the Huaxia People need no longer exhaust ourselves in mutual strife, but should gather as one, strengthen the foundation of the state, and strengthen the source of our people.”

”For a strong state, for a strong people.”

”Let official governance be clear and pure.”

”Divide the Daqin World into the Nine Provinces and Thirty-Six Counties.”

”Establish a State Governor in each of the Nine Provinces to oversee a State, and establish thirty-six Prefectural Governors to oversee each county.”

”The Crown Prince, moved by the fact that the common people of the realm mostly lack the ability to read and write, that the peopleʼs wisdom has not yet been opened!”

”Thus.”

”The Crown Prince issues his mandate, taking the opening of the wisdom of all under Heaven as the foremost task.”

”Within the Great Qin Territory, widely establish Academic Palaces.”

”In every county city, establish a County City Academy. All between eight and twenty‑five years of age may enter the County City Academy, to be taught to know their letters; the term shall be two years! No tuition is required for entry; bring your own food and you may enroll.”

”In every Prefectural City, establish a Prefectural City Academy. Those who pass the examinations of the County City Academy may enter the Prefectural City Academy for one year of advanced study, to train in Martial and inquire into learning, to be instructed in the talents of the Hundred Schools.”

”Wherever there is a State, establish a State Mansion Academy. Those who pass the examinations of the Prefectural City Academy may enter the State for one year of advanced study.”

”In Xianyang Capital, establish the Capital City Academy. Those who pass the examinations of the Nine Provinces State Mansion Academy may enter the Capital City Academy to receive evaluation; all who pass the evaluation may enter the Court as officials and bring benefit to a region.”

”Further.”

”The Crown Prince promulgates this decree.”

”Qin, in opening the wisdom of all the people of Divine Land Huaxia, must gather the talents of the world and pool the strength of the Hundred Schools.”

”All talented and outstanding figures of the Hundred Schools of Thought may come to Xianyang and will be personally received by our Qin Chancellor. Whether of Confucianism, Taoist, Legalists, Military Strategists, artisans, Mo... any of the Hundred Schools who have talent may enter; those who pass the Chancellorʼs assessment may serve as teachers in county and State Mansion Academies, instructing the students of the realm, spreading the Way of the Hundred Schools to all the people under Heaven. Qin will also favor the teachers of the Hundred Schools with the courtesies of the state.”

...

At the place of proclamation.

The voices of the people surged like a tide.

Listening to the officialʼs recitation.

Countless commoners were stunned.

Even if they could not read a single word, they heard it very clearly.

The Crown Prince would open the peopleʼs wisdom under Heaven and educate all the people.

He would establish Academic Palaces throughout the realm to teach all the people of the world.

Moreover.

To be taught to read and write, they did not need to pay any tuition; they only needed to bring their own food to enter the school.

What kind of grace is this?

What kind of favor is this?

”The Crown Prince is truly a Sage of Heavenly Descent!”

”Indeed.”

”The Crown Prince actually cares so much for us commoners, actually opens Academic Palaces throughout the realm to educate us laborers who do not know a single character.”

”All along, the ability to read and write has been held in the hands of the aristocratic family; if you werenʼt from a wealthy house, who could recognize characters? Yet the Crown Prince bestows such grace, granting all the people under Heaven the chance to be taught to read and write.”

”The First Emperorʼs holy grace is vast; the Crown Princeʼs holy grace is vast.”

”Long live the First Emperor, long live the Crown Prince.”

”This is wonderful.”

”Qin, with the First Emperor and the Crown Prince, will surely endure without decline.”

”Qin for ten thousand generations...”

Countless commoners cried out in excitement.

All were cheering and leaping for joy over Zhao Fengʼs policy of establishing Academic Palaces, for this was indeed something that stirred countless commoners.

Even those already over twenty‑five, who could not enter the Academic Palaces.

They have descendants, after all.

With the existence of the Academic Palaces, their descendants could also enter to study; their descendants in the future could also become talented and outstanding people of Qin.

This was a grace to the countless subjects of Qin.

How could they not be grateful?

Now.

This is still only Xianyang; from within the Prime Ministerʼs Mansion over a hundred fast riders galloped out of the city, bearing the Holy Decree.

Within a month.

The news of the establishment of the Academic Palaces, the news of enlightening the peopleʼs wisdom under Heaven, would spread across the world.

One could well imagine to what height Ying Zheng and Zhao Fengʼs prestige would rise in Shenzhou in the future, for this was a tangible act of bringing benefit to all the people under Heaven.

”All capable people of the Hundred Schools of Thought can be employed.”

”To embrace all rivers—this is truly to embrace all rivers. Our Farmer School has hope of revival.”

”No, I must quickly gather the disciples of our Farmer School and enter Xianyang to seek audience with the Chancellor. If we can enter the Academic Palaces to teach, our Farmer School can usher in prosperity.”

”Haha, Taoist, Legalists, Confucianism, all the Hundred Schools may enter the Academic Palaces as teachers—this is an act that will bring flourishing to learning. We must hasten to rally our fellow disciples; such an opportunity must be cherished.”

”Qin having such a Crown Prince—this is truly National Fortune flourishing.”

...

Besides the ordinary commoners.

Many down‑and‑out members of the Hundred Schools within Xianyang City were likewise incomparably excited.

With the announcement of the Holy Decree.

They also realized that their opportunity had come.

The chance to revive their schools had arrived.

When the Various Countries stood side by side.

The Various Countries all valued the Legalists and the Military Strategists, and looked somewhat askance at the other schools.

The former age of the Hundred Schools contending had already become a joke.

Now that the Academic Palaces are rising.

It seems the era of the Hundred Schools contending is about to return.

Moreover, it is a Hundred Schools contention belonging to the Great Qin Divine Land, no longer with war!
