Celestial Night Emperor

Chapter 100: Chapter 100: Warehouse Bait

Qin Tianxuan listened to the recording of Li Xiaohai’s confession.

The matter was simple.

A short while ago, Li Xiaohai had colluded with the Han Family, using bribery and other illicit means to secure a massive contract from the Qin Celestial King of the Northern Domain Battle Department.

It involved logistics for the front lines of the war zone, as well as various types of precision equipment.

The contract was enormous. The Han Family had bet their entire fortune, and Li Xiaohai had thrown in all of his assets as well.

But before the deal could be completed, the goods and money were seized because of the incident involving the Qin Celestial King.

That shipment of goods and all the money were now under the management of the Dongshen Financial Group.

”All the illicit funds and goods related to the Qin Celestial King have been impounded by Dongshen!” Qin Tianxuan sneered. ”So, the Han Family is about to go bankrupt!”

It was worse than bankruptcy; they were now two billion in debt.

For a family of the Han Family’s size, it was a debt they could never repay in a lifetime.

That was why Li Xiaohai was desperately pulling strings, trying to get Han Qianqian into the Northern Commerce Department of the Dongshen Company.

His goal was to find the location of that shipment.

Qin Tianxuan contacted Venerable Yuan of the Intelligence Hall in the forward war zone. ”Look into that shipment that was seized, and the funds involved. Someone is currently making a move on these assets.”

Venerable Yuan quickly found a lead. ”Powerful figures from the great families of the Imperial Capital, the Qin Family and the Ye Family, also invested a significant amount. Now they’re all trying to recoup their losses.”

”So, some people from the Qin and Ye families have taken the lead and are now cooperating with Li Xiaohai.”

’Interesting!’

Qin Tianxuan immediately gave the order: ”Confiscate all goods and assets. They will be used as funds for the Northern Domain Battle Department!”

”Then, set up a fake warehouse district in Su City. Fill the large crates in the warehouses with garbage! Have Prince handle this.”

This was an easy task.

Prince made a single phone call to Old Yama.

Any underling from a property management center under North City’s Old Yama could get it done.

The warehouses were prepared immediately, and dumpsters were already on their way.

Qin Tianxuan stood up. ”You can release Li Xiaohai. Just ’accidentally’ let him find out about the warehouse. When the time comes, the Qin Family or the Ye Family will definitely work with him.”

It was a simple lure. Whether or not those people from the Qin and Ye families would take the bait depended on Li Xiaohai’s ”abilities.”

「Two hours later」

Deep in the night, a trembling Li Xiaohai was thrown onto the pavement of a back alley.

It took him a long time to dare to get up. He pulled the black hood off his head, scrambled trembling into his Mercedes-Benz, and took ages to start the engine.

After returning to the Han Family estate, Li Xiaohai composed himself and immediately demanded a meeting.

The Han Family matriarch, Second Uncle’s family, and a very displeased Han Qianqian all attended.

”Qianqian, this is no time for a tantrum!” The matriarch’s eyes were bloodshot. ”Our family is about to go bankrupt, do you understand? Right now, our only hope is Xiaohai!”

Han Qianqian pursed her lips. ”We’re only in this mess because we listened to him in the first place!”

She wasn’t wrong. Everyone was filled with regret as they stared coldly at Li Xiaohai.

Li Xiaohai’s face twisted into a snarl. ”Let me say this once: if I go down, your family won’t have a shred of hope left. But as long as I can hold on, we’ll have a chance to turn things around!”

Han Qianqian scoffed, ”Turn things around how? By begging Han Biwei? It’s obvious that man with her is very capable!”

The members of the Han Family all turned pale.

Li Xiaohai’s face darkened. ”On my way back, I asked around. That Qin Tianxuan is probably a veteran retired from the war zone, maybe he was some kind of officer, big or small. Hmph! So what if he knows the young master of the Chen Family? Once we’ve made our comeback, we’ll go find my uncle. Won’t it be easy to get to know some big shot then?”

That was true.

His uncle was Li Changshan, after all.

”Xiaohai, do you really have a chance to inherit the Changshan Group?” the Han Family matriarch asked, her voice filled with greed.

Li Xiaohai chuckled darkly. ”So much has happened to my Uncle Changshan’s family, and all his direct-line nephews are fucking finished. Of course I have a chance! But the most important thing right now is to get our goods back!”

The entire Han Family was overjoyed. ”How do we do it?”

Li Xiaohai’s eyes glinted as he stared at Han Qianqian. ”Qianqian, go get yourself all dressed up. In a little while, you’re coming with me to meet a big shot from the Imperial Capital! We must have their help to get our goods back!”

What?

Han Qianqian jumped to her feet. ”Li Xiaohai, what are you saying? I’m your fiancée, and you want me to get all dressed up to go serve someone else?”

Han Family’s Second Uncle also flew into a rage.

Li Xiaohai violently flipped the table. ”What fucking time do you think it is?! Do you still think you’re some rich young lady from a great family? Do you have any idea how much debt we’re in?”

Second Uncle was held back by his wife.

The Han matriarch’s lips trembled. ”Two billion! We couldn’t pay it back even if we sold the entire family. Our creditors are all powerful people. They could crush our family with a single finger!”

It was a matter of life and death!

At a time like this, dignity was a luxury they couldn’t afford.

”Qianqian, for the sake of the family, for everyone... you’ll just have to endure this hardship.”

Sobbing, Han Qianqian was forced by her family to put on makeup and change her clothes.

She had to use all her charm to please the big shot Li Xiaohai had found. Otherwise, both their families would be finished!

”Qianqian, I’m doing this for our future happiness!” Li Xiaohai cooed, sweet-talking her. ”I know you feel wronged, but this person is a mega-important figure from the Imperial Capital. As long as you serve him well and accept whatever he wants to do, we can escape this crisis!”

Han Qianqian stared daggers at him. ”Can you really bear to send me to serve another man?”

Li Xiaohai’s face flushed red. ”I told you, it’s for the future! For *our* future!”

Driving his Mercedes, he finally managed to placate Han Qianqian and drove directly to a secluded villa district in Su City.
