Celestial Night Emperor

Chapter 75: Chapter 75: Yuan Jingjing’s Misunderstanding

Yuan Jingjing arrived carrying a small teddy bear and some nutritional supplements. She entered the courtyard to first greet Han Qianjun and his wife, then chatted happily with Han Biwei. But the moment she stepped inside the house and saw Qin Tianxuan, Yuan Jingjing instinctively straightened up. Her smile disappeared, replaced by a nervous expression.

Han Biwei found this odd. ”Jingjing, are you still shy? Didn’t we all eat together? At the last class reunion.”

’It’s precisely because of that class reunion that I’m so nervous!’

Afterwards, Yuan Jingjing and the other classmates involved had all agreed not to tell anyone or even discuss what had happened.

After all, someone with a status like the secret boss of the Dongshen Financial Group would definitely not want his privacy and identity exposed. That’s why she was being so quiet now.

Qin Tianxuan noticed her tension and patted Niannian’s little head. ”Come on, Daddy’s going to take you outside for some exercise. And while we’re at it, I’ll teach my little treasure a few foreign languages!”

With that, he lifted Niannian and hoisted her onto his shoulders.

Yuan Jingjing only let out a sigh of relief after they had left.

Han Biwei poured her a glass of water. ”I was just about to take a shower. This is a good time to ask you something... why didn’t anyone contact me after the reunion? I was too embarrassed to bring it up myself.”

Yuan Jingjing nearly choked on a sip of water.

She stared at her best friend. ”You really don’t know anything? That purse...”

”That’s what I wanted to ask about. They said it was a knockoff, but I really like it.”

Yuan Jingjing’s eyes widened. ”You... Oh, my dear Weiwei, don’t you have any idea who your husband is?”

Han Biwei looked completely clueless. ”He retired from the Battle Department. I think he must have held some sort of position back then, but his business failed after he left the service. The young men who work for him are quite impressive, though.”

Yuan Jingjing clutched her glass, her mind reeling.

’A horrifying thought surfaced: Qin Tianxuan is hiding his identity on purpose, which must mean he has a legitimate wife somewhere else! He tricked Weiwei into becoming his mistress!’

The more the young woman thought about it, the more sweat beaded on her forehead.

Han Biwei grew even more puzzled. ”What on earth is wrong with you? You’re sweating. Let me turn on the air conditioner.”

”Ah, it’s nothing!” Yuan Jingjing snapped out of it and took her hand. After a long hesitation, she suddenly suggested, ”Weiwei, since you have free time now, why not look for a job? I have some hiring information for the Dongshen Financial Group right here!”

Han Biwei was thrilled. ”The Dongshen Financial Group? They only hire through internal recruitment and referrals. I never even get a chance to submit my resume. It’s wonderful that you have a connection like this!”

Yuan Jingjing sent her a few contact emails, feeling a pang of guilt.

She didn’t dare tell Han Biwei the truth.

Because that Mr. Qin was simply too terrifying.

’So, Weiwei... as your best friend, this is all I can do to help. I hope you can discover something at the Dongshen Financial Group and figure things out before it’s too late.’

Han Biwei, completely unaware of how deeply her friend had misunderstood the situation, changed the subject to her job.

”Don’t even ask!” Yuan Jingjing said with a pained expression. ”The pressure from headquarters has been insane lately. The instruction manuals for a batch of imported renovation materials are all in German, and it’s killing me.”

Yuan Jingjing was a department supervisor, so she was in charge of promoting these new materials. But the translator she’d hired was useless. The manuals were full of technical jargon, and they still hadn’t figured them all out. It was giving her a massive headache.

Most people knew a little English, but when it came to German, they were completely stumped.

Just then, Qin Tianxuan returned with Niannian. The father and daughter had been out exercising, and their clothes were now dirty.

An idea suddenly struck Han Biwei. ”Tianxuan, you know a lot of foreign languages, don’t you? How about German?”

Qin Tianxuan gave a faint smile. ”Of course. No problem.”

Han Biwei beamed. ”Jingjing, how about this? When you go out on sales calls, you can take my husband along. He can help translate the manuals for the clients, and you can let him intern at your company at the same time.”

Han Biwei thought it was a perfect plan that killed two birds with one stone.

She could help her best friend and find a decent job for Qin Tianxuan.

”Jingjing’s a supervisor who makes millions a year. If he works under her, he’ll definitely do well!”

Yuan Jingjing was dumbfounded.

’Wh-what am I supposed to do now?’

’How could I possibly ask Qin Tianxuan to be a translator?’

But Qin Tianxuan, looking quite serious, walked over and sat down. ”Jingjing, what’s the name of your company?”

Yuan Jingjing flinched. ”It’s a subsidiary of Changshan Heavy Industry. We’re in the renovation materials business.”

Qin Tianxuan smiled at once. ”Ah, then that’s no problem.”

’Li Changshan’s company, huh? He’s one of my own people. I can just coast by without any trouble. This will be a good way to show Weiwei I’m making an effort.’

Yuan Jingjing left with a conflicted expression, deeply regretting her visit. She had just been handed a hot potato.

The night passed without incident.

The next morning, Han Biwei took Niannian to school herself and laid out a new suit of clothes for Qin Tianxuan.

It was a white shirt and black trousers, along with the new leather shoes Jiang Wan Jun had bought for him.

She gently tied his tie for him. ”If you’re unhappy there, don’t force yourself to stay. Jingjing is an old friend of mine, and we’re very close, but at the office, she’ll be your boss. I’m sure she’ll look out for you.”

Qin Tianxuan nodded, then left the house and headed to the Changshan Company.

The members of Yuan Jingjing’s sales department were in a meeting, so he waited casually for a while before knocking on the door and entering.

”Is that the new colleague?” Several of the women’s eyes went wide. ”Wow, he’s gorgeous!”

Qin Tianxuan’s model-like physique and profound charisma instantly captivated all the women.

By the time Yuan Jingjing got there, even the receptionist and the junior accountant were secretly asking for the handsome newcomer’s phone number.

Yuan Jingjing didn’t know whether to laugh or cry. She walked in, awkwardly conducted the meeting, and then came out with a stack of materials.

With an aloof expression, Qin Tianxuan rejected all the women, not giving his number to anyone, before walking out coolly.

”Mr. Qin, what on earth are you playing at?” Jingjing pouted. ”Don’t think you can do whatever you want just because you’re handsome and rich! This is my department!”

But her voice clearly lacked conviction.

Qin Tianxuan poured a glass of water and sipped it gently. ”You know who I am, and I know the difficult position you’re in. Let’s just both pretend we’re clueless. I’ll show my face, clock out at the end of the day, and you don’t say anything to Weiwei. It’s that simple.”

”What about the salary...?”

”You have to pay me. Otherwise, how am I supposed to explain this to Weiwei?”

Qin Tianxuan’s words left Yuan Jingjing speechless.

She ran her hands through her hair in frustration. ”You’re the secret boss of the Dongshen Financial Group! What can I possibly say to that?”

Qin Tianxuan shook her hand earnestly. ”Thank you for your understanding. I look forward to working with you!”
