Celestial Night Emperor

Chapter 94: Chapter 94: Sister-in-law Invites You to a Meal

The family held hands as they walked toward the entrance of Dongshen Mansion.

Just then, Secretary Wang, who wore gold-rimmed glasses, appeared. He gave Qin Tianxuan a discreet bow from a distance.

Qin Tianxuan stopped. ”Weiwei, go wait for me by the entrance. I’m going to meet someone.”

Han Biwei quickly picked up Niannian. ”Don’t be too late. You haven’t eaten yet.”

She was smart and considerate. Since Qin Tianxuan didn’t say who he was meeting, she knew not to pry.

Once Weiwei had left, Qin Tianxuan nodded to the distant Secretary Wang.

Secretary Wang jogged over and bowed deeply. ”Sir, after the Marquis left, he ordered me to take full responsibility for your personal affairs. Do you have any instructions for me?”

Qin Tianxuan smiled. ”Let the twelve presidents continue to manage Dongshen. They each have their own roles, which is good. I’m not a big fan of the business side of things.”

Secretary Wang didn’t dare make a sound, listening in silence.

Then Qin Tianxuan thought of something else. ”Weiwei starts work tomorrow. The company needs to arrange her promotions properly—not too obvious, but not too slow, either. Give her your full support. In the future, I plan to hand this entire financial group over to her!”

Secretary Wang was shocked!

Utterly shocked.

The Dongshen Financial Group was already emerging as the top financial group in Su City.

He had assumed Mr. Qin would one day give it to the young lady, Niannian. He never expected it would be Han Biwei.

Qin Tianxuan read his expression and said calmly, ”What? Do you have a problem with that?”

”Ah, I wouldn’t dare, Sir!”

”Good. Tell the financial group’s executives that Han Biwei is their future boss! That’s an order. Anyone who disrespects Weiwei is making an enemy of me!”

Qin Tianxuan waved him away. ”You can go now.”

Wiping the sweat from his brow, Secretary Wang, Dongshen’s chief assistant and de facto chief of staff, took his leave.

Qin Tianxuan strolled out the door and scooped up Niannian. ”Come on. We still have some time, let’s go buy your mommy a car!”

”Yay! Daddy’s buying a car! I’m so excited!”

Niannian shouted excitedly to Han Biwei.

Han Biwei froze for a second before rushing to say, ”No! I just got a job. Let’s wait until I’m more settled. The buses and subway are so convenient, and with bike-shares everywhere, we don’t need a car.”

Qin Tianxuan considered it. ”Let’s wait until the weekend, then. But we are definitely buying one.”

In a modern metropolis, a personal car was a necessity, not a luxury.

Han Biwei had been through too much since returning to Su City. On top of that, Uncle Han’s family had been cast out of their elite status. Now, her entire household didn’t even own a car. It was just pathetic.

Since Qin Tianxuan was so insistent, Han Biwei didn’t argue.

But she frowned, and started calculating her savings.

Then, she took out her wallet and handed Qin Tianxuan a card.

”Hm? Weiwei, what are you doing?”

Han Biwei gave him a sweet smile. ”Didn’t you rent that RV and ask a bunch of your veteran friends to protect me last time? This isn’t much, but I’d like to treat them to a meal to say thank you.”

Qin Tianxuan was taken aback. ”That car wasn’t a rental, and those men are my Personal Guard.”

”Brother Tianxuan, you don’t have to explain. I saw it all!”

”Huh? What did you see?”

Han Biwei bit her lip. ”I saw the official papers for your dismissal. Those men used to be your subordinates, but now that you’re no longer a high-ranking officer in the Battle Department, they’re only protecting me out of past loyalty. You should at least show your appreciation.”

Qin Tianxuan understood.

The documents in that bulletproof car were all about his dismissal, his expulsion, and the revocation of his Battle Department privileges.

No wonder Weiwei had misunderstood so completely.

He gently pushed the card back. ”Weiwei, trust me. I can still afford to treat them to a meal!”

With that, he took out his phone and called the Personal Guard unit stationed at a secret base in Su City.

”Weiwei wants to thank you for protecting her last time, so I’m treating you all to dinner. Hold a meeting right now and decide what you want to eat. Yes, get back to me in half an hour!”

Han Biwei was dumbfounded. ”Goodness, are you inviting them to dinner or giving them an order?”

She took the phone from him, offered her own gentle thanks, and added, ”Don’t be shy, now. It’s on me, your sister-in-law. It’s dinnertime, so I’m going to take Niannian home first. You all hurry up and pick a place.”

The Personal Guard members hung up, every one of them deeply touched.

”The madam is too kind to us! We didn’t even do anything that day!”

”We have to accept. The madam is treating us like brothers, so we can’t be overly polite. This is from our sister-in-law!”

Treating it like a critical mission, they immediately pulled up a map and began searching for a suitable restaurant!

These Personal Guards of the Night Emperor were no ordinary people.

They were all Captains or higher, and several even hailed from the elite families of Da Xia.

Just then, a handsome young Personal Guard stood up. ”Captain, sir, I suggest we eat here!” His finger landed on the most famous luxury restaurant in western Su City: the Royal Hotel!

The Captain glanced at it. ”Chen Feiyu, doesn’t your family own this hotel?”

The Personal Guard, Chen Feiyu, scratched his head in embarrassment. ”Yes, it’s one of my family’s chain hotels. I just figured since we’re going out, things would be easier to arrange here. It’s our home turf, after all.”

Everyone in the Personal Guard knew of the Chen Family, one of Jiangnan’s elite families. A place chosen by Young Master Chen was bound to be good, so they all agreed.

The Personal Guard Captain nodded. ”Alright, I’ll reply to Mr. Qin at once.”

Meanwhile, Han Biwei and Qin Tianxuan took Niannian back to their little courtyard home. After they received the message with the location, Han Biwei glanced at it and suppressed a smile. ”These guys really know how to pick a spot. The Royal Hotel... the name sounds tacky, but their prices are no joke. Brother Tianxuan, you’d better be prepared. It costs about this much per person!”

She held up two fingers.

The minimum charge at the Royal Hotel was two thousand per person. For ten people, that would be twenty thousand!

Qin Tianxuan was completely unfazed. ”Let them eat whatever they want. I can afford it.”

Smiling, Han Biwei went to change her clothes and do her makeup.

Qin Tianxuan had just finished washing his face when a message came in on his phone.

A message from the Royal Hotel: ”Dear Mr. Qin, Ms. Han Biwei has booked a party banquet on your behalf. The set menu, totaling 28,000, has been paid for in advance. We wish you a pleasant meal!”

A warmth spread through Qin Tianxuan’s heart.

’Ah, Weiwei... She was so afraid I couldn’t afford it that she even paid for the meal in advance!’
