Fated to My Billionaire Husband

Capítulo 1940: Chapter 1940: Something Must Have Happened

Jian Yufei hugged her knees, and a sudden feeling of regret surged in her heart. Would it have been less damaging to him if she had just broken up and left back then?

It’s better than him knowing she’s about to die, right?

No, maybe both are painful, doesn’t matter which.

She didn’t want him to suffer; it would be nice if there were a better choice.

That night, Jian Yufei barely slept.

…

The next day, a plane from Japan to A City slowly landed.

Ruan Tianling and a group of subordinates emerged from the airport.

“You guys go back first, everyone has worked hard these past few days.” Ruan Tianling said to them.

A few subordinates smiled and bid farewell to him, and only then did Ruan Tianling, accompanied by two bodyguards, walk towards the airport exit.

Outside the door, there was no sign of Jian Yufei. Ruan Tianling glanced at his watch; his flight was on time, not early.

Could it be that Jian Yufei hasn’t arrived yet?

He took out his phone and dialed her number, only to be prompted that her phone was turned off.

Ruan Tianling frowned slightly: “Why is it turned off?”

He dialed the home phone, and it was answered by his mother.

“Mom, has Yufei left?” he asked.

“Left for what?” Ruan’s mother was very puzzled, “But she really hasn’t returned for two days.”

“What did you say?!” Ruan Tianling’s face changed abruptly.

Ruan’s mother said, “She said she had something to do, and then she hasn’t returned; are you back?”

“I’m coming home immediately!” Ruan Tianling hung up the phone and hurried home.

His intuition told him something happened to Jian Yufei, otherwise she wouldn’t be gone for two days, nor have her phone turned off and not answer his calls.

She promised to pick him up, she wouldn’t go back on her word, so something must have happened to her.

Ruan Tianling suddenly felt very regretful; he should have made her a new watch to wear at all times.

He rushed home, only to find no trace of Jian Yufei at home.

Ruan’s mother said that morning, Jian Yufei had gone to the hospital to see the doctor and then never returned.

She called saying Li Mingxi had something for her, estimating a two-day delay before coming back, and Ruan’s mother didn’t ask much. After all, Jian Yufei is an adult, not a child, she has her freedom to do things.

Seeing Ruan Tianling so worried, Ruan’s mother comforted him saying, “Maybe she’ll be back soon, if you’re worried just call her.”

“I know.” Ruan Tianling quickly composed himself; he must remain calm in front of the family.

He couldn’t let them know something happened to Jian Yufei.

Ruan Tianling left the old house, drove out, and dialed Li Mingxi’s phone number on the car.

The phone rang several times before being answered.

“Hello, what’s the matter? I’m busy.” Li Mingxi asked coldly.

Ruan Tianling asked her darkly, “Where’s Jian Yufei? Let her answer the phone!”

“Jian Yufei is not with me.” Li Mingxi said guiltily.

“What do you mean by not with you?” Ruan Tianling suddenly gripped the steering wheel tight, feeling a very bad premonition.

He was very worried that Jian Yufei had been captured by Nangong Xu’s men.

Only Nangong Xu, no one else could separate them now.

Li Mingxi said vaguely, “She stayed at my place for a night that day, and left the next day, I don’t know where she went.”

“Did she say anything?”

“No, she didn’t say anything!”

“Where are you now?” If she won’t speak, he’ll question her face to face.

Li Mingxi had no choice but to say, “I’m at the hospital.”

Ruan Tianling quickly arrived at Li Mingxi’s hospital, pushed open her office door, and walked in with large strides, a cold aura surrounding him.
