Fated to My Billionaire Husband

Capítulo 1938: Chapter 1938: Jian Yufei Didn’t Go Home

“Caught a cold?” he asked in a deep voice.

Jian Yufei spoke with a heavy nasal tone, “A little, played too long during the day, so I caught a cold.”

“Have you seen a doctor?”

“No, took some medicine, I’m much better now.”

Ruan Tianling was still worried, “Go to the hospital now for a check-up, don’t let it get worse.”

Jian Yufei wrapped herself in the blanket, smiling to comfort him, “Really, it’s nothing, just a bit of nasal congestion. If it gets worse, I’ll go to the hospital right away.”

“Why are you always getting sick lately?” Ruan Tianling complained in distress, “You must be lacking exercise. From now on, join me for a run every morning.”

Jian Yufei wailed, “I hate exercising the most.”

“Hate it or not, you must exercise. Look at you getting sick every other day, I really can’t stand it anymore!” Ruan Tianling’s attitude was determined, “When I return, I’ll make sure you’re well trained. If you get sick again, watch out, I won’t be nice!”

“Alright, let’s talk about it when you come back.” Jian Yufei reluctantly agreed, then couldn’t help but cough a few times, “Cough, cough… cough, cough…”

Ruan Tianling immediately lost his temper, “You said your cold wasn’t severe, I’ll get someone to take you to the hospital right away!”

“Don’t bother.” Jian Yufei quickly said, “I just took medicine, I’m really much better now. Even if I go to the hospital, I’ll go tomorrow. It’s too late now, I won’t go.”

Jian Yufei insisted on not going, and Ruan Tianling had no choice but to remind her to go to the hospital if the cold got severe. Jian Yufei repeatedly promised, and only then did he let her off.

Not wanting to disturb her rest, Ruan Tianling didn’t talk to her for long and hung up the phone.

Closing her phone, Jian Yufei’s eyes instantly dimmed.

Tomorrow, everything is tomorrow.

************

The next morning, Jian Yufei’s cold hadn’t gotten any better, and several elders of the Ruan family urged her to see a doctor.

This time Jian Yufei didn’t refuse. She went to the city’s first hospital, not Li Mingxi’s hospital.

At the hospital, she told the doctor some symptoms, and the doctor immediately suspected she had leukemia.

Blood tests indicated a very high possibility of leukemia.

The doctor suggested she be hospitalized for observation. Jian Yufei couldn’t accept this fact, she was completely devastated.

She said she would get tested at another hospital, so she rushed to Li Mingxi’s hospital.

To make the act convincing, Li Mingxi followed procedure and gave her another examination.

Then a real test report came out, confirming that she indeed had leukemia.

So she didn’t return home that day.

Late at night, she called home saying she was staying at Sister Mingxi’s house. Ruan’s mother asked her why, and she simply said Sister Mingxi had something to discuss with her.

Ruan’s mother didn’t ask further, trusting Jian Yufei’s word and having faith in her own niece.

That night, Ruan Tianling called on schedule, and Jian Yufei let the phone ring once before answering.

“Why did you answer the phone so late?” Ruan Tianling complained as usual. If Jian Yufei was a second late in answering, it would irritate him.

“I was showering, couldn’t pick up the phone. If you have something to say, say it quickly, I’m not done showering yet.”

Upon hearing this, Ruan Tianling dared not say much.

“Quickly finish, next time don’t answer the phone while showering!”

“Mm, understood.” Jian Yufei quietly hung up the phone.

But she was dressed neatly in pajamas, not showering at all.

Li Mingxi sat beside her asking, “Are you sure you want to tell him now?”
