Peerless Divine Doctor

Chapter 2752: Chapter 2753: Ancient Malevolent Soul

Ye Luo wasn’t angry; he continued to look at him with a smile, ”Then tell me, if you become an Elder of the Wudang Sect, and I give you authority, what do you plan to do!”

The old man pondered for a moment, and said, ”A Sect must first have rules. As the saying goes, without rules, nothing can be accomplished; this is roughly the reason!”

Ye Luo nodded slightly upon hearing this, ”That’s very good, so how about you become the Punishment Elder of the Wudang Sect!”

The old man’s eyes first brightened, then dimmed, ”To tell the truth, I used to be the Punishment Elder of the Wanling Sect, but later on my lifespan was running low, so I had to leave Wanling Sect!”

Ye Luo understood, what he meant by ’had no choice’ was probably being expelled from the Sect, after all, how could a small Sect afford to keep a powerful figure at the end of his lifespan in the Heavenly Martial Realm! Or rather, with those resources, it would be enough to cultivate several talented disciples.

”No need to worry, you can stay in the Wudang Sect and be the Punishment Elder at ease. As for resources, I’ll do my best to meet your needs!” Ye Luo said.

For a cultivator near the end of their lifespan, if there are enough resources, it’s not impossible to sustain life, but the closer they are to the end, the more massive the amount of resources needed!

For example, this old man still has a few months of lifespan left, so living for another year is not a problem, but the resources required would be astronomical.

Not to mention whether Ye Luo can provide that many resources, just based on Ye Luo’s words, the old man deeply bowed to Ye Luo.

Ye Luo’s action was nothing short of providing help in a time of need.

”Sect Leader, I will surely establish the punishment system. In this way, even if I am gone, the Wudang Sect can still operate!” the old man said solemnly.

It was obvious that he now had some sense of belonging to the Wudang Sect, which was exactly what Ye Luo wanted to see.

Moreover, his actions certainly influenced the others around him.

Soon after, two other old men also walked over, bowed to Ye Luo, and showed the utmost respect.

”Sect Leader, I was formerly the Tasks Elder. The growth of Sect Disciples requires encouragement and rewards; setting up tasks is the inevitable path for the Sect’s long-lasting success!”

Ye Luo nodded, ”Good, then you will be the Tasks Elder. If you need any resources, you can tell me directly!”

And the other old man, who was skilled in dealing with other Sects, Ye Luo simply appointed him as the Foreign Affairs Elder, as Ye Luo’s next step was to form a coalition army to confront those nobles, and foreign affairs were unavoidable.

Afterward, there were only the middle-aged man and the young man left. Their expressions were somewhat indifferent, and they did not step forward to volunteer.

Ye Luo took a few steps and stood in front of them.

”Since you have come to the Wudang Sect, you should assume some responsibility as well! I notice your cultivation is not bad; how about you become the Hall Master of the Sect and be in charge of training the disciples?” he said to the middle-aged man.

In reality, his cultivation was outstanding; he would be more than capable of being a Hall Master even in the Great Sects.

However, after hearing this, the middle-aged man smiled bitterly, ”Sect Leader, it’s not that I am unwilling to exert myself for the Wudang Sect. If I were truly at the end of my lifespan, even if only a few months were left, I would still be willing to contribute to Wudang; my situation is somewhat special. Had I known the Sect Leader was such a generous person, I wouldn’t have come to sabotage you!”

Sabotage? Ye Luo looked at him in confusion.

”Sect Leader, there is a demon inside my body that comes out at night to wreak havoc, and my Divine Soul has been mostly devoured by it. Once it is completely devoured, my Divine Soul will perish, turning me into a heinous demon!” the middle-aged man smiled bitterly.

”What!”

Before Ye Luo could respond, the three elders stepped back a few paces, their faces showing fear.

”Could it be that you’ve been tainted by an ancient evil soul!” one of the elders said in horror.

Ye Luo was somewhat curious, as he had never heard of such an ancient evil soul.

”It seems so!” the middle-aged man continued to smile bitterly.

”How dare you, being tainted by such a vicious thing, walk in the world; you should end your life quickly!” another elder immediately roared.

”Sect Leader, you may not know, but the ancient evil soul is the remnant of a powerful ancient being. The Demon Realm is particularly suitable for the evil soul’s survival. Whenever an evil soul appears in the world, it is met with disdain and requires powerful people to expel and eradicate it. If the evil soul is allowed to grow, it will certainly become a great demon!” another elder said.

Upon hearing this, Ye Luo understood that the Demonic Qi in the Demon Realm indeed provided favorable conditions for the growth of the evil soul.

”Forget it, I once said that I did not expect the Sect Leader to be so kind and lenient; I will leave on my own. The evil soul has already grown significantly, and a few great powers have attempted to expel it before; not only did they fail, but they nearly lost themselves. So, I have no hope anymore!”

With that, the middle-aged man was about to turn around and leave.

”Wait!” Ye Luo suddenly called out to him.

”Sect Leader, I know your good intent, but fate is such, and there’s no time to lose. If the evil soul emerges tonight to cause trouble, I will truly harm the Sect Leader!” the middle-aged man sighed.

But Ye Luo simply smiled, ”It’s just an evil soul; I can help you expel it!”

”You mustn’t!”

Immediately, the three elders exclaimed in surprise.

”Sect Leader, the evil soul is not as simple as you think. It is a fragment of soul and obsession left by an ancient power, and even a strong Martial King cannot deal with it!”

”Indeed, unless one is at the Martial Emperor Realm, there’s no way to remove it!” another elder quickly added.

Although Ye Luo’s strength was comparable to the Martial King Realm, he hadn’t reached that level, so they had no faith in Ye Luo!

Moreover, since even strong martial emperors aren’t willing to make a move, how could Ye Luo?

”Sect Leader, you are indeed kind-hearted, but I cannot harm you!” The middle-aged man’s eyes turned cold as he activated his mana and was about to fly out of the hall.

Ye Luo sighed, waved his hand, and drew him back.

”I kept you a few here not to strengthen the Wudang Sect’s prestige! But because I have the confidence to turn you into normal people!” Ye Luo suddenly said.

These individuals were stupefied, completely at a loss about what Ye Luo meant.

”Sect Leader, what do you mean?” the elder appointed as the Punishment Elder asked softly.

Ye Luo glanced at him and smiled, ”Take you, for instance. If you have only a few months left of your lifespan, but I give you five years, would you have the potential to break through to the next realm?”

Upon hearing this, the old man was struck as if by lightning! Five years of lifespan! For ordinary cultivators, it might not be much, but for him, it was the hope of life!
