The Female Lead Decides to Act Wickedly

”Great, thank you! I’m actually hungry!”

Ye Beibei paused, not heading straight upstairs as usual, but instead turned towards the kitchen.

Ye Muwan was taken aback; she didn’t expect her greeting to be acknowledged.

This half-sister in front of her never interacts with her, did she?

Oh no, that’s not the point. The point is, Ye Beibei, who missed dinner, actually wanted the meal kept by Aunt.

While shocked, Ye Muwan felt a bit uneasy inside.

She wasn’t guilty, after all, she did ask Aunt to save the meal.

However, Ye Muwan knew her family’s Aunt, Aunt Fang wasn’t a bad person, just a bit straightforward.

Having worked at the Ye Family for nearly ten years, she already considered the Ye Family her own family.

And towards Ye Beibei, this ”intruder” who came into the Ye Family mid-way, prickly and close to no one, even affecting the family atmosphere.

Aunt Fang, who always regarded the Ye Family as her own home, somewhat rejected Ye Beibei.

She wouldn’t deliberately target her, but sometimes, Aunt Fang was far less attentive to Ye Beibei than to Ye Muwan.

Besides, whenever Ye Beibei returned late, Ye Muwan would remind Aunt Fang to keep the meal, but Ye Beibei almost never ate it.

Such good meals were wasted!

Ye Muwan knew Aunt Fang was frugal, she didn’t deliberately waste things because the household was wealthy.

Whenever Aunt Fang tidied up the kitchen and saw the wasted meals, she couldn’t help but chatter.

Ye Muwan felt that Aunt Fang had no bad intentions, but she was afraid Ye Beibei wouldn’t understand and would think Aunt Fang was intentionally targeting her.

Sure enough—

”Clang!”

The sound of porcelain colliding came from the kitchen.

Ye Muwan’s heart trembled, and she hurried into the kitchen.

”Sister, what’s wrong?” Ye Muwan’s clear voice came in before she even arrived.

”Ye Muwan, is this the meal you saved for me?”

Ye Beibei casually tossed the white porcelain spoon onto the table, motioning with her chin towards the two plates on the counter.

Ye Muwan followed Ye Beibei’s gaze, um, the saved dishes weren’t much, but, but it’s enough for one person to eat.

She couldn’t quite figure out why Ye Beibei was angry.

”... Heh heh,”

Seeing Ye Muwan’s signature innocent expression, Ye Beibei let out a chilling laugh.

”Ye Beibei, what’s with you again? You came back late; your sister kindly saved the meal for you, yet you’re being picky!”

The Ye Family father and son, originally talking in the study on the second floor, furrowed their brows and came downstairs upon hearing the commotion on the first floor.

Ye Cheeng stood in the dining room, not entering the kitchen directly; he happened to hear Ye Beibei’s sarcastic laugh and couldn’t help but feel a surge of anger.

”I’m causing trouble? Heh, Dad, you’re condemning me without even asking!”

Upon hearing Ye Cheeng’s unabashed disdain, Ye Beibei felt a stab of pain in her heart.

She desperately told herself not to care about these people.

But, how could she truly not care!

Ye Cheeng wasn’t just anyone; he was her biological father, who was supposed to be the one who loved her the most, the closest person in the world to her.

Yet, the one who hurt her the most was precisely Ye Cheeng.

Even more tragically, after hurting Ye Beibei, he still fancied himself a ”loving father.”

While Ye Beibei’s sorrow and grievance, in Ye Cheeng’s view, were due to her immaturity, her rebelliousness, thinking she was an ungrateful brat.

”Beibei, if there’s something to say, just say it, don’t be sarcastic.”

Ye Beixuan followed behind Ye Cheeng, hearing his sister’s strange tone and seeing their father’s displeased expression; he quickly tried to mediate, ”If the food doesn’t suit your taste, just have Aunt make something new, don’t mess around, okay?”

Ye Beixuan thought his tone was good and genuinely meant well for his sister.

But Ye Beibei was even less grateful!

Such a brother, seemingly more concerned about her than Ye Cheeng, but in fact, fundamentally, he was just like Ye Cheeng.

He too, without looking or asking, simply assumed she was ”messing around”!

Ye Beibei took a deep breath, desperately telling herself: don’t get angry, don’t be sad, don’t feel hurt for unworthy people.

She reached over, picked up the two plates, bypassed Ye Muwan, and walked straight up to Ye Cheeng and his son.

”Dad, I know you look down on me, thinking I’m low-class and not presentable! But no matter how low-class I am, I know basic manners!”

Ye Beibei continued her sarcastic remarks, ”At least in my grandma’s low-class family, when saving food for someone, it’s set aside before anyone touches it!”
