The Female Lead Decides to Act Wickedly

Chapter 1113: Chapter 422: My Husband Is the Supporting Male Lead (Part 21)

The yellow sands filled the sky, the dilapidated city amidst the endless desolation, with a ”He” family flag flapping loudly.

The He Family has been entrenched in the Northwest for over a hundred years, and whether it’s the soldiers of Dayuan, border people, or the Hulu, seeing this grand flag brings an inexplicable awe.

For the soldiers and citizens of Dayuan, the ”He” family flag symbolizes safety and peace of mind.

Wherever the ”He” family flag arrives, it’s a sign that the brave and battle-hardened He Family Army has come.

To the Hulu, seeing this grand flag instinctively evokes a sense of dread.

The arrival of the He Family Army means the Guardians of this realm are here; they cannot recklessly plunder and kill!!

Even though twenty days ago, they ambushed the main forces of the He Family Army, heavily wounding He Jing, the War God.

Yet, the fear rooted in their hearts is not so easily dispelled.

”Didn’t the defenders of West City go to aid An City? Why have they suddenly returned?”

The Hulu leader felt unsettled.

Looking at the banner pierced by an arrow, and then at the cheering old, weak, and women on the West City walls, he started to waver.

It’s not that he feared battle, but that he knew how to assess the situation.

If the main force of West City truly has returned, with support from inside and outside, his two thousand men and horses would be buried in this small Border City?!

These are the bravest warriors of their tribe.

The Hulu is not a unified power struggle but a force made up of over a dozen tribes allied together.

On the surface, the Great Khan of the Royal Court has the right to command troops.

But in fact, the Great Khan can only truly control the warriors of his own tribe.

The other troops are separately led by their own tribal chiefs, who are eager to take a share if the battle goes well.

But once they find the battle unfavorable, they will be the first to turn back!

For instance, at this moment, the leader of the forces attacking West City, upon seeing the He Family Army flag and his own fallen banner, began to consider retreat.

”Whoosh!”

Just as the Hulu leader hesitated, the sound of an arrow piercing the air suddenly reached his ear.

He instinctively turned his head in the direction of the sound.

Momentarily, his pupils enlarged; an arrowhead spinning in the air sliced through the wind-filled air, swiftly heading toward him.

Before the Hulu leader could react, he vaguely heard a ”thunk!”

His neck hurt so much; it seemed to be pierced by a sharp weapon!

Oh, right!

It’s the Feathered Arrow!

So, is he dead?

Yet, he still feels something!

Thud!

The Hulu leader fell heavily from his horse, landing right on the ground where a flag embroidered with a wolf’s head lay.

He lay on the banner, his eyes wide open still gazing at the azure sky.

His opened mouth emitted a hoarse sound, while foamy blood spurted from its edge.

He couldn’t die immediately, and while feeling the excruciating pain from his neck, he vaguely heard a woman’s rallying voice—

”Warriors, charge with me!”

It’s a woman?

A woman leading the troops?!

How is this possible? Aren’t the people of Dayuan the most concerned about the separation of men and women?

Could it be that this woman is from the He Family, and can thus easily lead the troops in battle?

The Hulu leader’s mind was full of questions.

Unfortunately, he no longer had the chance to find answers.

His head tilted, the hoarse sound ceased, and he died without closing his eyes!

He Tiantian, however, cared nothing about the leader’s dying questions; at the front of the formation, she shot through the Hulu wolf flag with one arrow and killed the Hulu leader with another, stunning display thoroughly impressing the soldiers behind her.

Even Liu Sheng and Wang Kui, two veteran generals, secretly marveled: ”She’s worthy of being a member of the He Family, a woman with such capabilities!”

Not to mention anything else, just her ability to kill the opponent’s commander with one arrow was enough to boost morale.

Because combat practically hinges on morale!

Sure enough, both sides had thousands of troops, but on Dayuan’s side, witnessing He Tiantian’s valor, the soldiers were filled with passion and a boiling desire to kill.

While on the Hulu side, the wolf flag fell, the leader died, and despite some chiefs’ urgent cries, most soldiers were in great panic.

At He Tiantian’s command, Dayuan’s soldiers launched a fierce attack, and the already panicked Hulu became even more timid.

In an instant, they fled in all directions.

He Tiantian forcefully wedged her horse stirrups, driving her steed repeatedly through the Hulu ranks, wherever her mighty blade reached, blood spurted, and limbs scattered.

Even as a woman fearlessly braving death, including Liu Sheng and Wang Kui, the generals of Dayuan did not feel timid.

Once again, morale surged.
