The Female Lead Decides to Act Wickedly

Chapter 1108: Chapter 420: My Husband Is a Supporting Male Character (Part 19)_2

In the current situation, to smoothly bring the Northwest Army back under the court’s control, it is necessary to have someone with close ties to the He Family to ”transition” the process.

The Emperor had previously considered that if worst came to worst, he could send He Han, the second young master of the He Family.

But He Han’s health is too poor; he can’t even ride a horse most of the time.

The Capital City is a thousand miles away from the Northwest, and He Han might collapse on the way!

The eldest son of the He Family has already disappeared, and after all the Emperor and He Jing have been through as ruler and subject, he really doesn’t want the He Family to have no heirs.

At this difficult moment for the Emperor, He Tiantian stepped forward.

The Emperor looked at this young, lively girl in front of him, full of energy and with clear eyes.

Although she has an infamous reputation for being unruly, from another perspective, it is also a testament to this girl’s ”fierceness.”

A girl like her should be able to endure the hardships of rushing thousands of miles and arrive safe and sound at the West Base Camp.

Yes, the Emperor’s expectations for He Tiantian are not high, as long as she appears lively and energetic in front of the He Family Army.

A mascot, really, who actually expects her to lead troops and fight battles?

The Emperor already has a plan in mind: appoint ”He Tian” as the commander-in-chief and assign her two experienced and battle-hardened generals.

This way, both the He Family Army will be appeased and the Hulu will be repelled!

”...Your Majesty, I know that being a woman comes with many inconveniences, but please, for the sake of my He Family’s generations of loyalty and my desire to avenge my father and brother, let me go to the Northwest!”

He Tiantian solemnly kowtowed in request.

”Good! Like father, like daughter!”

The Emperor had his mind made up and did not hesitate any longer, slapping the table and exclaiming repeatedly in approval.

Zhou Jin: ...Did you just agree to this?

A woman leading the army?

And it’s a pampered young lady who’s never been on the battlefield?

Father Emperor, are you sure you’re not telling a story?

Even if their Dayuan has records of women as commanders, Princess Zhaoyang and ”He Tian” are not the same at all.

Princess Zhaoyang had practiced martial arts since childhood and, after marriage, defended the Southwest with her Prince Consort from a General’s family.

She has led troops and fought battles with absolute experience.

And ”He Tian”?

Zhou Jin has known her for over ten years, only seeing her causing trouble and making mischief, never having done anything serious or proper.

How could such a brat undertake the responsibility of the Northwest Army?

The Emperor saw Zhou Jin’s incredulous expression and secretly shook his head: ”Laoqi still lacks much indeed; he completely lacks the mind and vision of a superior.”

If today’s matter were handled by the Crown Prince or any of the few older princes, after brief surprise and confusion, they would soon understand the key—it is not ”He Tian”’s ability that is most valuable, but her identity.

Sending her to the Northwest is not to make her fight but to soothe and rally the troops.

A proper mascot, understand?!

He Tiantian certainly knows the thoughts of the Emperor and even the court officials, but she refuses to be a mere mascot.

Of course, matters like these can’t be resolved by arguing a few words.

To gain others’ recognition and respect, one must present tangible achievements.

He Tiantian has enough ability; what she lacks is the opportunity to showcase it.

Now that the opportunity has come, no matter how it arrived, He Tiantian just needs to make the most of it!

”Thank you, Your Majesty!”

With the Emperor’s agreement, He Tiantian was overjoyed.

Of course, the reassignment of the commander-in-chief still needs the approval of the Political Affairs Hall.

Upon hearing that He Jing’s daughter was going to the Northwest, several powerful ministers were first shocked and said it was ”ridiculous.”

The Emperor maintained his composure, not bothering to explain further, but quietly waited.

After a moment of noise, the Political Affairs Hall gradually quieted down.

And the elder, six ministries’ ministers, and other key officials, eventually came to their senses.

”Letting Miss He go to the Northwest is not impossible, but two veteran generals with rich experience must also be appointed!”

The elder’s thoughts aligned almost perfectly with the Emperor’s.

Others nodded in agreement as well.

Thus, this seemingly somewhat absurd yet very fitting proposal was passed.

”...What? He Tian is going to the Northwest?”

Before He Shu could feel happy about successfully marrying into Prince Qi’s Mansion, she heard this ”shocking” news.

How could it be possible?

Even with the Dayuan Dynasty in decline, it is still a feudal dynasty.

A woman leading the army?

Is it really playing the Yang Family Generals?

And Mu Guiying or whatever, she was invented.

Throughout the thousands of years of Hua Country’s history, only one female general truly recorded in the annals—Qin Liangyu.

The reason she was recorded in the official history was due to the special historical period of the late Ming and early Qing, during the chaos across the land.
