The Female Lead Decides to Act Wickedly

Chapter 197: Chapter 111: A Male Lead’s Relative (Part 15) - Additional Chapter for 100+ Monthly Tickets

This stinker, refusing to study seriously was one thing, but now he’s started lying again!

Ye Chen briefly instructed the renovation Master, then stormed into the kitchen.

”He Tian you—” really learned it? Or are you deceiving me?

Ye Chen hadn’t finished speaking when he was choked up.

He stared in disbelief at the scene before him—

There stood ”He Tian” at the cutting board, with a kitchen knife in one hand and the other pressing down a potato.

Swoosh, swoosh, swoosh!

The potato was sliced into evenly thin pieces.

Scrape, scrape, scrape!

Neatly arranged potato slices were cut into fine shreds.

He Tiantian crossed the knife and used its flat side to transfer the potato shreds into a bowl.

There was water in the bowl; the shreds quickly dispersed in the water.

He Tiantian casually picked up some, got the sewing needle Ye Chen had asked for, and threaded it right through.

One potato shred smoothly passed through the eye of the needle.

Two shreds could also be threaded side by side.

Three was a bit of a push but managed as well...

Ye Chen’s eyes nearly popped out.

After a while, he came to his senses, and in two or three strides, he approached closer.

He looked at the needle in He Tiantian’s hand and then at the potato shreds floating in the bowl.

He grabbed a handful and examined them closely.

A professional knows his stuff.

Although Ye Chen started late, he was still a professional chef trained systematically.

He could clearly see that the knife skills were superb!

”...Xiao Tian, did you, did you practice before?”

Ye Chen asked dryly.

It was an instinctive reaction because it made the most sense.

But He Tiantian pretended to disdain, flicking her hand as if the somewhat heavy kitchen knife was some detestable instrument.

”My wrist is about to break from the strain!”

While complaining, He Tiantian didn’t forget to answer the male lead’s question, ”Am I sick? Why would I practice this for no reason? It’s so tiring! With all this free time, playing games and watching videos are way more appealing, right?”

Ye Chen with a numb face: ...so, him who once painfully trained in knife skills, was his brain filled with cat biscuits?!

”Ding! Male lead’s anger value +1!”

”Xiao Tian, did you really not practice before?” Ye Chen still found it hard to believe.

It wasn’t because he was being overly dramatic, nor was he ignorant of what ”talent” meant.

But basic skills like knife skills can’t solely rely on talent.

Even those talented in cooking need solid fundamental training.

”He Tian,” if ”he” wasn’t lying, had practiced for less than ten minutes today!

Ten minutes, to enable someone who had never practiced knife skills to cut such perfect potato shreds?!

This wasn’t a city superpower cool text, but damn reality!

Ye Chen’s inner critic was furiously ranting.

”Of course I never practiced, guess I’m just extraordinarily talented!”

He Tiantian lifted her chin smugly, her demeanor arrogant and provoking, which made Ye Chen feel speechless again.

”Ding! Male lead’s anger value +1!”

Ye Chen wasn’t truly angry; he just suddenly felt a bitter heartache.

He considered himself talented, yet he still needed to struggle with the basics.

To master good knife skills, he had spent an entire week cutting potato shreds.

But, the result—

The forever top student, Ye Chen, suddenly understood the pain of the underachiever—effort is utterly worthless in front of talent!

And what frustrated Ye Chen even more came later—

He Tiantian clapped her hands, ”Bro, I’ve perfected my knife skills, can I go find Young Master Su now?”

”What?” Ye Chen, still unsettled, asked blankly.

”Bro, you aren’t thinking of backing out, are you?”

He Tiantian feigned anger and said irritably, ”You just promised me yourself, saying if I mastered the knife skills, I could go find Young Master Su!”

”I was worried you’d renege, so I made sure to ask you specifically what you meant by ’good knife skills.’ You said that if I could cut potato shreds that could pass through the eye of a needle, I would pass!”

He Tiantian argued while shaking the needle in her hand.

She didn’t say more, but her meaning was very clear.

Ye Chen: ...no reason, but it’s just really infuriating!

”Ding! Male lead’s anger value +1!”

”...When did I ever go back on my word? Fine, you passed for today!”

Taking a deep breath, Ye Chen suppressed the negative emotions in his heart, waved his hand dismissively like he was shooing a mosquito, signaling He Tiantian to ”scram.”

”Hey! Alright, I knew my brother was a man of his word. Hehe, bro, I’m off then!”
