The Female Lead Decides to Act Wickedly

Chapter 161: Chapter 099: A Male Lead Relative (Part 3)

The first time He Thian drove Su Wenyuan’s Porsche to show off, he ended up in a traffic accident.

The front of the Porsche was smashed out of shape, and worst of all, someone got injured.

He Thian was scared silly at the time and hurriedly called his aunt and uncle.

The elderly Ye couple had never seen such a sight; seeing the severely damaged luxury car and the injured party with a broken leg, the couple almost fainted.

It was Ye Chen who came upon hearing the news. He had no time to scold his troublesome, top-grade cousin; instead, he was comforting the injured and their family, as well as discussing compensation matters.

The male lead’s aura around Ye Chen played a significant role; he, a youth who had just left the campus a few days ago, actually managed to calm things down.

Of course, it’s also possible that the Su Family had stepped in behind the scenes.

After all, the car that He Thian had an accident in was registered under Su Wenyuan’s name.

Once things blew up, even if Su Wenyuan was innocent, it would still cause an uproar.

Envy of the rich is etched into many people’s bones.

No matter the truth, just by having the words ”rich second generation,” ”luxury car,” and ”hit-and-run” in the title, the media could attract widespread attention.

Fortunately, the injured and their family were not the insatiable type. Seeing the sincere attitude of the Ye Family and the adequate compensation, they agreed to a settlement.

With the injured party settled, the Su Family still needed an explanation.

Ye Chen didn’t shirk the responsibility; although it was his cousin who caused the trouble, he couldn’t feign ignorance: wasn’t it because of his face, Ye Chen, that Su Wenyuan confidently handed over his luxury car to such a small car wash belonging to the Ye Family?

As a result, the Ye Family not only failed to perform their duty properly but also damaged someone else’s luxury car and almost dragged Su Wenyuan into some absurd lawsuit.

Ye Chen was acutely aware that He Thian had caused the Su Family significant trouble.

And He Thian’s mistake was also related to the Ye Family and to Ye Chen himself.

It wasn’t just the indulgence of Mrs. Ye; even Ye Chen himself hadn’t given enough attention, otherwise—

What’s done is done, and to say more would be pointless.

Ye Chen directly told Su Wenyuan, ”The cost of repairing the car, along with our shop’s compensation, I will bear it all!”

”Wenyuan, don’t refuse! Clear accounts make good brothers. It truly is our Ye Family’s fault this time, and even though you don’t lack this money, we still need to take responsibility!”

Ye Chen indeed had the male lead’s integrity, bravely taking responsibility, and was clear on public versus private matters, not playing the sympathy card to avoid compensation.

Ye Chen truly placed Su Wenyuan on an equal footing with himself, treating him with an ordinary heart.

Without any mix of interests, without regard for wealth or power, he simply wanted to be brothers with Su Wenyuan.

This attitude of his made Su Wenyuan appreciate him all the more.

Even Su Wenyuan’s father, The Richest Su of the Provincial City, came to have a bit of affection for Ye Chen.

The Ye Family couldn’t gather the full amount for car repairs and compensation at once, so Ye Chen solemnly wrote an IOU to Su Wenyuan and then made regular monthly payments.

Perhaps he could only pay back a few hundred or a couple of thousand each time, an amount Su Wenyuan wouldn’t glance at under normal circumstances.

But, Su Wenyuan still looked forward to each of Ye Chen’s payments because it showed his attitude.

The matter was eventually resolved, leaving the Ye Family with a debt of over a hundred thousand.

As the instigator, He Thian was genuinely scared at the beginning.

He was afraid of paying money, even more, afraid of being caught and sent to jail.

Dangerous driving is a criminal offense.

To settle privately, he needed the injured’s consent.

Accidents caused by such luxury cars, if met with a greedily insatiable party, could drag a family down.

Aunt and uncle were usually very fond of He Thian, but deep down, he knew he wasn’t their child.

He didn’t even carry the Ye surname.

His real mother didn’t want to bother with him, so He Thian didn’t feel that his aunt and uncle would ruin themselves for his sake.

If he couldn’t meet the injured party’s demands, he might actually face prosecution and imprisonment!

During that period, He Thian was trembling with fear; he even considered running away.

Fortunately, reason reminded him not to flee, as the consequences would be even more severe.

He Thian then started to curb his behavior, trying to make up for his mistakes at the Ye Family.

Doing household chores, helping at the car wash, serving tea and water to his aunt and uncle, massaging their backs – his diligent and pitiable small figure made the Ye couple can’t help but soften their hearts.

”Alas, he’s just young, with a strong sense of vanity, and that’s why he made a wrong move!”
