The Female Lead Decides to Act Wickedly

Chapter 101: Chapter 078: The Whole Family Is Top-grade (Part 10)_3

”The first TV, the first TV in He Family Village belongs to He Jianguo’s house!

Haha, everyone in the village jokes that he is a loser, a henpecked husband.

Hmph, they’re not the losers, but how come they don’t even have a TV?

He Jianguo hasn’t gotten the TV yet, but he was already grinning from ear to ear.

He walked with a bit of a float in his step, feeling as if he was floating in the clouds.

Liu Xiuzhi finally came to her senses and immediately saw her old man with a foolish grin on his face.

In her heart, she scoffed, ’Old fool who can’t keep anything to himself’, but unbeknownst to her, the corners of her mouth were turning up too.

Her daughter is going to participate in the Asian Games, going to be on TV.

In the past decades, not just her in-laws, but also the villagers haven’t stopped gossiping about her family.

They think she coddles Tiantian too much, say she is sick, loves the son less but dotes on a loss-making daughter!

Pfft!

Loss-making daughter my foot, my Tiantian is a promising child.

Your sons are so cherished, but can they participate in the Asian Games, be on TV, bring honor to the nation?

My Tiantian can!

Now our Tiantian has even bought a TV for our family.

Yan Family, they have a TV.

Back when she first visited Yan Family’s house, seeing that small box play movies amazed Liu Xiuzhi.

But she didn’t forget, the disdainful smile with restrained scorn from Mrs. Yan while she was cautiously circling the TV.

Mrs. Yan never openly despised the He Family, but her gaze was too piercing.

Smiling with her lips, but her eyes tell a different story... Liu Xiuzhi, uneducated as she is, couldn’t find the right adjective.

She just felt very uncomfortable looking at Mrs. Yan.

Every time she visited the Yan Family, although she always got what she wanted, Liu Xiuzhi just didn’t feel right.

She truly is a termagant, shameless too, but to say she has no self-respect at all, that’s impossible.

We’re all human, who doesn’t want to stand tall, be respected?

Liu Xiuzhi shook her head vigorously, oh my, on such a joyful day, why think about these unlucky things.

What the Yan Family is like, has nothing to do with our Old He’s family anymore.

Their own Tiantian doesn’t even fancy Yan Xingzhou, and Yan Xingzhou, tsk tsk, I heard this kid got who knows what kind of shock, dropped his promising military career to go into business.

Old Master Yan was so mad he was hospitalized, Father Yan and Mrs. Yan were sighing all day long.

But the kid didn’t listen, was set on doing business in the South, Yan’s parents scolded and beat him, but to no avail.

The couple could only sulk, letting Yan Xingzhou do whatever he pleased.

Thinking of this, Liu Xiuzhi couldn’t help but snicker privately; nowadays bosses indeed have money, but in terms of social status, those who are in the government service definitely rank higher.

Yan Xingzhou giving up his promising military position to be a self-employed... Hmph, it’s good that he’s not my kid; otherwise, Liu Xiuzhi might have beaten him to death.

Forget it, forget it, don’t think about these things anymore.

Our Tiantian has made a name for herself, in the future, she probably won’t need to rely on the Yan Family’s help anymore.

Liu Xiuzhi thought secretly, and when she ran into an acquaintance, she cast aside these messy thoughts and proudly said, ’Hey, sister-in-law, come to our house to watch TV tomorrow, our Tiantian specifically bought a TV for us in Capital City.’

’Heard it’s even a colored one, and it’s imported!’

’Exactly, shipped from Capital City, arriving tomorrow.’

’Auntie, once the TV is set up, come over and watch! Our Tiantian will be on TV, haha, just the Asian Games, yes yes, our Tiantian is participating too!’

’My, my, it’s nothing much, just an archery contest, our Tiantian will definitely win the championship!’

Walking along, Liu Xiuzhi’s big mouth kept shouting.

The villagers began another round of discussions.

Living two streets away, Grandpa He and Granny He also caught wind of it; Granny He’s health isn’t good, making it difficult for her to move around.

Grandpa He alone excitedly ran to his son’s house.

’I heard we bought a TV?’

Grandpa He’s eyes sparkled, and thinking of the Yan Family’s small color TV, he casually asked, ’What kind is it? How big is it? Is it bigger than the Yan’s?’

He Jianguo had no clue as he hadn’t seen it himself.

But Liu Xiuzhi confidently claimed, ’Definitely better than the Yan’s. They bought theirs several years ago, you know, the newer TVs, the more recent the production, the bigger they get. Tiantian said she specifically bought the latest model, and it’s imported too.’

’Great, imported goods are the best! Haha, Old He’s family has a TV now too!’

Grandpa He’s face gleamed with excitement, his mouth revealing only a few remaining teeth.

’See, isn’t it our Tiantian who is capable?’

Seeing her father-in-law brimming with joy, Liu Xiuzhi suddenly recalled past grievances and deliberately jabbed, ’Too happy he didn’t mind, instead nodded vigorously, ’Right right, Tiantian is the most promising.’

The next day, He Jianguo, along with his brothers He Yongfu and He Yonggui, carefully transported a large cardboard box from the town, inside was a twenty-one-inch color TV.

The villagers of He Family Village, seeing the color TV, were both amazed and envious.

Praises flew their way, like they didn’t cost anything.

An unprecedented pride and delight filled the He Family, their mouths almost twisted with smiles.

And this exuberance, reached its peak on October 1st, the day the Asian Games archery competition officially commenced...”
