The Golem Mage

A bright green glow illuminated a particular room in the building where the Vajra Academy was staying at the Grand Arena buildings.

The room layout mirrored that of the War God Academy, albeit on a much grander scale.

As the green light receded the group of masked mages from the Dark guild appeared, as they entered, they came face-to-face with the Head Abbot of the Vajra academy, who is engaged in conversation with the monk who served as their team coordinator.

”What is the meaning of this? Why have you returned here?” the head Abbot demanded, his expression betraying an uncommon anger.

”Oh, my sincerest apologies for intruding, I assure you, it was entirely unintentional, my comrades and I found ourselves in a tight spot and needed a place to hide until the sentry guards passed by,” the figure in the middle, wearing a skeleton mask, responded in a teasing manner.

”You insolent fool! How dare you speak so lightly about matters of such gravity? If it weren’t for the urgency of the situation, I would never have enlisted the aid of your guild, you are the most ill-behaved disciple of your master, and I shall make sure he learns of your conduct,” scolded the Vajra Academy’s monk coordinator, only to be silenced by the raised hand of the Head Abbot.

”Finally , no more words, thank you, Abbot,” the skeleton masked mage acknowledged with a bow, followed by his masked assassin comrades following with his actions of bowing.

”I have remained composed thus far, but I cannot help but notice the absence of Alec and Pale, what exactly is going on?” the head Abbot inquired, realizing that even the primary mission he had assigned to the Dark guild appeared to be incomplete.

”Well, mighty Abbot, there seems to be a slight problem, we were unable to successfully abduct those two,” the skeleton masked figure confessed with a hint of reluctance.

”What did you say?” The Head Abbot’s voice grew heavy as a mental image appeared behind him, resembling a golden Buddha with three heads, however, the face turned towards them had a serene smile, and it was a closed-eyed Buddha.

The skeleton masked figure felt no benevolence from the mental image, instead he was sensing a malevolent presence.

”Please, remain calm! Let me explain, honourable Abbot, while I may not have succeeded in kidnapping them, I have ensured that they will never stand a chance of victory against your team, Isn’t that what you desired?”

Despite the pressure that was being released by the Head Abbot , the skeleton masked individual conveyed this message with ease.

Hearing it, the Abbot’s agitation subsided somewhat, and the mental image vanished as if it had never been there.

The Abbot closed his eyes, raising his hands to his chest, as if in prayer, while the skeleton masked figure continued.

”Although we were unable to kidnap them, it was due to their resistance and the unforeseen early arrival of the Zero Clan enforcers,” the skeleton masked mage explained.

”Originally, I had planned to exploit the fortuitous leak about the Zero Clan’s intention to attack, my aim was to solely abduct Alec, effectively crippling the War God Academy team, however, upon discovering that the Zero Clan’s mission involved both Pale and Alec, I decided to kidnap both, this way, the Zero Clan enforcers would be perplexed about who had them, and onlookers would be captivated and monitor them when I reveal their collaboration with a sentry captain to attack the Grand Arena participant.”

”It was the perfect plan, to divert attention from my Vajra Academy, no one would suspect us, the Lord Enforcer of the Zero Clan would be baffled as to who had abducted both kids, and, of course, I intended to release them after the match,” the Head Abbot explained.

As the skeleton masked mage listened to the Head Abbot’s grand plan, he found himself perplexed, while he recognized the meticulousness of the plan, he couldn’t comprehend why it was necessary to go through such lengths.

”I still don’t understand, your academy is undeniably the favourite and the strongest among the both academy team, You don’t need tricks to defeat the War God Mage Academy, so why go through all this stress?” the skeleton masked mage questioned after thoughtful consideration.

”You are still young, so you may not be familiar with history, in the past, the War God Academy emerged as the top academy despite having the weakest team, they performed miraculous feats, led by their Captain, their battle prowess surpassed that of their realm,” the Head Abbot explained.

”I understand that things are different now, with support from the ancient clans and royal clan towards the other academies, but there are similarities between the chemistry of this team War God Academy team and that of the old team, although this current team is much weaker, with low battle power except for their captain and Lucas,” the Head Abbot continued.

”That is precisely why I wanted to remove Alec, I wanted to eliminate anything that could hinder my academy from emerging victorious, I am not willing to leave it all to chance, I am prepared to shape fate to align with my desires,” the Head Abbot declared, causing the skeleton masked mage to shake his head in disbelief.

”Well, I may not have been able to capture the one you desired, but I can assure you that the rest of the team has been seriously injured in one way or another, so, you don’t have to worry too much, we shall take our leave now,” the skeleton masked mage declared.

As he walked towards the door and, upon reaching it, he knocked with his right hand three times, which emitted a vibrant green glow of Necro energy before opening the door,

Instead of revealing the living room of the Vajra Academy, a swirling green portal appeared, the skeleton masked mage turned back and left a message.

”My master says he no longer owes you any favours!” The skeleton masked mage announced as he entered the portal, with the surviving members of the team following closely behind.

As the last member entered, the door automatically locked itself, and the Necro energy within the room faded away.

The monk responsible for coordinating the Vajra Academy approached the door and opened it, only to be surprised at the sight before him. Instead of the green portal, the door now led back to the living room, the shock still visible on his face.

”Don’t try to comprehend the ways of a monarch, his master is responsible for the spatial portal that aided his escape from this space, do you truly believe you would be able to comprehend the intricacies of a spell at the monarch level?” The Head Abbot scoffed, placing his hands behind his back as he gazed outside through the water screen in his room, which portrayed the breath-taking night sky.
