The Golem Mage

As the clash between the Bandit Academy and War God Academy drew closer, Arthur had cunningly made his way to the betting rings much earlier, he discreetly placed a hefty bet of 10,000 magic crystals on the War God Academy emerging victorious in the match.

The potential return on his bet was a staggering one million magic crystals, causing a mischievous grin to spread across his face.

As he couldn’t help but daydream about how much Alec would reward him once the bet paid off, it was Alec who had provided the funds for the bet, fueling Arthur’s evil laughter as he imagined how he would spend his share of the winnings.

Having returned to his spot, Arthur saw that the match was reaching its climax, so he promptly settled down, his eyes glued to the screen.

The visuals were so lifelike that he almost believed if he step out of his chair he would find himself within the forest.

However, he knew that was merely an illusion created by the incredibly realistic screens, he was just amazed to discover that each person could view the battle from their own unique perspective.

Meanwhile, Legion, equipped with his AR-15, caught sight of his target on his scope, infusing mana into his weapon, countless intricate runes illuminated its surface, with a sharp ting, Legion pulled the trigger, causing the rifle to discharge concentrated beams of high-energy light.

The heavy laser bullets blazed through the air with unwavering accuracy, obliterating trees in their path, Asher Blackthorn of the Bandit Academy found himself under heavy fire from Legion, prompting a desperate retreat.

Aware of the imminent threat to his life, Asher evaded the bullets, realizing that one wrong move could result in a fatal penetration, the remaining three members of the Bandit team, witnessing their comrade’s assault, abandoned their hiding spots, determined not to face a similar fate.

As they emerged from their hiding spot, Raven commanded,

”Scarlet, Cole, go get rid of those peep squeaks, I will assist Asher in getting rid of that golem!” He dashed towards the running Asher and Legion, who was in pursuit.

Raven raised his bow, aiming at Legion, who was still airborne, and targeted the jetpack on his back, however, as he released the arrow, he noticed another golem had appeared behind Legion.

Undeterred, he let the arrow fly, and it let out a swoosh sound as it streaked through the air, crackling with black lightning, but Magnito, who had appeared to protect Legion’s back, raised his silver hover board up, causing the arrow to enter underneath the board like it was absorbed before it was being shot back at a much faster speed.

”Shit!” Raven cursed as he took cover behind a tree, but the arrow had pierced through the tree and three others before losing power and getting stuck on the fifth tree.

The turn of events surprised him. As both golems were only releasing the aura of Tier 4 mages, but he felt a tinge of danger coming from them.

He was sure that if they surrounded him, he might be eliminated, this thought made him shake his head, unable to accept the fact that the War God Academy could eliminate him, a Tier 5 Mage, without even having a Tier 5 Mage in their own ranks.

He and Jack had underestimated the War God Academy, and this was the consequence, however, he decided to go after Alec instead, as Alec controlled the golems and was close to the flag they needed to capture, he saw it as a getting two birds with one stone.

As he turned to check on Scarlet and Cole, hoping they could assist him in moving towards Alec, but he realized they also had problems of their own – as they were surrounded by the Hive Queen’s children.

Who was Assisting Pale, Agnes and Katie in their desperate battle against them.

Though Both Agnes and Katie seems to be on the brink of death, lying breathless on the ground after being unable to halt the Tier 4 mages’ relentless attacks, Pale, armed with his dual ice blades, remained the last one standing.

Amidst the chaos, Scarlet and Cole had not emerged unscathed either; as some spider babies had exploded on them, causing considerable damage.

And despite Pale’s face smudged with blood and his blurred vision, Pale stood tall, defiantly facing the two Tier 4 mages, supported by the spider babies.

Cole, driven by frustration, shouted,

”Why won’t you just fall and die?” He raised his hand, sending two green-coloured wind blades hurtling towards Pale.

In response, Pale unleashed his own slashes, but the wind blades easily shattered through his Ice slashes , crashing towards him, quickly thinking, Pale converted his dual ice swords into a small ice shield, but the force behind the blades proved too overpowering, propelling him through the air.

Emerging from the shadows in the ground, Scarlet attempted to strike Pale’s neck airborne, only to find her hand restrained by webs from the Hive Queen golem.

Frustrated, she twisted her body and used her heels to deliver a blow to Pale’s jaw, sending him flying until he collided with the castle walls, losing consciousness.

And a flash of light fell from the sky covering him, as Pale disappeared with the light, followed shortly by Agnes and Katie as the light enveloped them too.

As Scarlet freed herself from the webs, she turned to witnessed Cole being impaled from behind by one of the sword legs of the Hive Queen, as another flash of light descended upon him, and he, too, vanished from the battlefield.

Scarlet’s eyes trembled with dread as she locked her gaze upon the Hive Queen.

Despite being a mere Tier 4 golem, the Hive Queen’s intelligence and ability to summon a vast amount of Tier 3 minions granted her battle powers far surpassing her own realm.

Scarlet had just witnessed the Hive Queen using Pale, Agnes, Kate, and even her own children, to drain them of their strength, so while she was occupied with eliminating Pale, the Hive Queen cunningly sent her children to engage Cole, leaving his back vulnerable to a sudden and vicious strike.

This devastating revelation struck Scarlet to her core, she had always believed only the bandit academy had trained mages to be a heart-chilling and cunning assassin, always relying on stealthy, surprise attacks.

However, witnessing the Hive Queen’s calculated method of eliminating opponents of higher realms and her willingness to sacrifice her own offspring sent a chilling wave through Scarlet, as she struggled to comprehend how the golem thought.

As Scarlet focused on the Hive Queen’s unnervingly human-like upper body, the presence of the eight red eyes served as a chilling reminder that she faced not a humanoid, but a golem devoid of emotions.

With a piercing shriek, the Hive Queen commanded the swarm of arachnid babies to converge on Scarlet.

Who Gripped her daggers tightly, as she braced herself for a life-or-death battle, though she and Cole had completed their mission, circumstances had taken a frightening turn as she now faced a formidable and treacherous adversary worse than the initial mission now she was drained and weak.
