The Golem Mage

The crowd of spectators eagerly watched as the much-anticipated match finally began, when Alec sent his team out, the three main attackers from the Royal Mage Academy also entered the forest.

To the surprise of everyone watching, The Masked One and Kylian Zero, who typically attacked together, went their separate ways.

This unexpected change in strategy caught the attention of the crowd, as they were accustomed to seeing the duo work in unison.

Meanwhile, Asher held back for about a minute before following after them, the fans of the Royal Mage Academy felt a sense of suspense, hoping that the entire team would engage with the War God Academy, as they were worried about the numbers of fighters the War God Academy had on their side.

Inside the spherical cover of the Colosseum, Alec placed two of his right fingers on his head, attempting to establish a mental connection with his Golems and see through their eyes.

However, after two minutes of being in the forest, Alec realized that neither Lucas, who took the right path, nor Pale and Endrick, who took the left path, had encountered any members of the Royal Mage Academy team.

A sense of unease washed over Alec as his earlier prediction of the opposing team splitting up to fight them seemed to be proven wrong.

This discrepancy heightened his suspicions, as he had based his prediction on the fights that Agnes had been observing all this time.

Suddenly, something peculiar registered in Alec’s mental energy, alarmed, he swiftly severed his connection with both Magnito and Legion, focusing his attention on a flame tunnel that appeared before him.

To his surprise, Asher and Kylian emerged from the tunnel, wearing a smiles on their faces.

”You see, I told you he is that confident in himself, he would definitely be the only one defending the flag, just like last time,” Asher remarked, with Kylian nodding in agreement.

In that moment, Alec realized the a partial reason why his teammates had not encountered any opponents during their exploration of the forest. Asher seemed to possess some kind of spatial ability, which allowed him to manipulate space and he had been keeping it hidden. This revelation deepened Alec’s understanding of the tactics employed by their opponents.

”I have one simple question for all of you: How many of you actually moved to attack us?” Alec calmly asked, still seated on the earth throne, Kylian’s raised right eyebrow revealed his anger, evident in his facial expression.

”How dare a peasant like you speak to me while sitting down! Come down and talk to me face-to-face!” Kylian retorted, swiping his right hand, suddenly, a small hill of ice materialized behind him, and it began shooting large ice shards towards Alec.

However, Titan, who stood beside Alec, snorted and swiftly swung his mace, generating a wind powerful force that deflected the rapidly-moving ice shards; in an unexpected turn, three large shards were even propelled back towards Kylian and Asher.

Undeterred, Asher reacted swiftly, sending his right fist upward, as three colossal blue flaming fists surged forward, intercepting the incoming ice shards, a thunderous explosion ensued as the two attacks collided.

”Now that you’ve had a taste of my abilities, I would appreciate it if you can answer my question honestly: How many of you have entered the forest?” Alec asked against, driven by his curiosity regarding Beatrice’s safety.

He couldn’t monitor her position since he hadn’t dispatched any golems to accompany her, she had declined his offer, citing her reliance on puppets instead.

Though Alec trusted Beatrice’s abilities, but he couldn’t help but worry that she might be engaged in a battle at that very moment.

”Well, there’s only one way for you to find out,” Kylian sneered, his face twisting into a wide smile.

”And what way would that be?” Alec questioned.

”In your dreams,” Kylian responded, dashing towards Alec, he propelled himself forward as large ice pillars rose from the ground, propelling him even faster.

”Titan!” Alec called out, responding to his call, Titan appeared in front of him and stomped his right foot into the ground.

As a colossal ice wall emerged, shielding them from Kylian’s oncoming assault, however, Kylian showed no signs of slowing down.

Titan, observing from behind the ice wall, believed Kylian would attempt to break through, so he poised his mace, prepared to take Kylian out, when he does that, however, at the last moment, Kylian called out to someone else.

”Asher, now!” Kylian shouted as Asher finished casting his spell, he pointed towards the ice wall that Titan had erected, and just as Kylian was about to crash into it, another flame tunnel materialized, in a swift motion, Kylian passed through the tunnel unscathed.

But then, to his surprise, another flame tunnel emerged behind Alec’s earth throne, as Kylian passed through it, as a wild smile blossomed on his face as he witnessed Alec’s lack of movement, Stretching out his hand, Kylian aimed to touch Alec’s head, with his icy fist touch.

However, Kylian had overlooked Oni, who stood guard behind Alec, as Oni’s hands firmly clutched onto Kylian’s, and when Kylian looked up, he was met with a smirking expression on Oni’s mask.

This realization unsettled him as he attempted to head-butt Oni, yet, two more hands emerged from Oni’s shoulders, gripping Kylian’s head, this unforeseen turn puzzled Kylian, who had been using his powers to coat Oni in ice.

However, his efforts proved futile, as though the ice dissipated into a seemingly bottomless void.

Left with no other recourse, Kylian lifted his legs, intending to execute a straight kick, but two additional hands emerged just below the main hands, further immobilizing him, with Oni’s firm grip, it was evident that Kylian had lost his mobility.

”Go play!” Oni declared as he began rotating at a rapid speed.

The intense spinning caused Kylian to feel his vision blur and the disorienting sensation of his eyes swirling.

After approximately five seconds, Oni forcefully hurled Kylian back into the same flame tunnel from which he emerged.

Asher watched as Kylian was propelled out of the initial flame tunnel he had been maintaining along Titan’s ice wall, the moment Kylian flew out of the tunnel, Asher ceased his efforts to sustain it, the task had proven exceedingly draining to maintain for a prolonged period.

”Damn it! That Ice Golem has not only reached the Tier 5 realm, but the other golem as well, the one that wasn’t used in the last match, also possesses Tier 5 battle power, all our information and tactics against him are ineffective!” Kylian shouted in frustration.

”We have to attack him together. I’ll help you handle the masked golem while you quickly deal with the Ice Golem, i know Alec has other formidable golems, but if he’s not using them, it must mean they won’t be much help to him,” Asher proposed.

The ice wall erected by Titan was now dismantled, and Alec stood, cracking his neck as he stared at them.

”I’ve seen everything I need to see, neither of you is that much of a challenge. So, tell me, if I defeat you both, will you finally tell me how many of you came to attack us?, I still need to see if my strategy will work, as I don’t want my team members to remain idle,” Alec declared.

With Alec now standing, their plans seemed to have shifted, nevertheless, Kylian dashed forward, and Asher had no choice but to follow closely behind him, however, from the forest behind, Lucas burst out, wielding dual swords.

Covering his feet with Qi, Lucas dashed towards Kylian and Asher from the rear, even though they initially moved before him, but Lucas eventually ended up catching up with them, just a few feet away from Alec.

Alec relaxed, knowing that with Lucas and his two golems by his side, he wouldn’t even have to make a move himself.

This would keep his own physical combat abilities concealed, allowing him to catch someone off guard, however, an unexpected turn of events left him shocked.

Both Kylian abruptly halted their progress towards Alec as they reached the rooftop, they retrieved talismans and forcefully slammed them towards Titan and Magnito.

As the talismans struck the golems, an array of restraining runes instantly materialized around their bodies, rendering them immobilized.

Surprisingly, Lucas, whom Alec had assumed to be a support, showed no signs of halting his advance, instead, wearing a sly smile, he continued his relentless charge, aiming a slashing attack directly at Alec’s neck.
