Forced Pampering: Haughty Husband, Please Restrain Yourself

Chapter 950: Chapter 960: An Ran Was Here

That isn’t an ordinary bullet shell; it’s the bullet shell whistle Shen Che gave to An Ran.

An Ran was here.

Mu Xingfeng squatted down to pick up the whistle and straightened Shen Qi’s body to face him, ”Shen Qi, I’m Instructor Mu. Tell me, was An Ran here? Where is she now?”

Forced to meet the man’s gaze, Shen Qi’s scattered eyes started to focus. When she recognized the man’s face, tears streamed down her cheeks.

”Instructor Mu, you must save An Ran and Lu Yi. They were taken by my brother and that man. That man has a gun. You must save them.”

”Do you know which way they went?”

Due to the rain, the previous traces had been gradually washed away, making it extremely difficult to capture a fleeing criminal in such weather.

Shen Qi paused for a moment, and suddenly seemed to think of something, ”West Mountain, halfway up West Mountain, there’s a big rock. Below the rock, there’s a cave. Brother would go there.”

It was a cave Brother accidentally found as a child. Whenever he was unhappy, he would go there. The cave is not conspicuous, and since West Mountain is the cemetery of this village, few people go there.

If Brother led them to find a hiding place, knowing him, he would definitely go there.

At this time, Fang Hui and Zhang Liang had already entered the house. Mu Xingfeng pointed at the young man on the floor and spoke to Fang Hui, ”I’ll contact headquarters to dispatch a helicopter. Leave this to you. Zhang Liang, come with me.”

This area borders F Province, a frequent haunt of drug traffickers. After receiving intelligence, he had thoroughly familiarized himself with this area. The West Mountain mentioned by Shen Qi was a place he had visited.

The sky was gray-white, and the drizzling rain made the world seem drained of color.

An Ran’s hands were tied behind her back as she trudged along the muddy mountain path, struggling with each step.

Lu Yi, not far in front of her, was similarly bound, with Qiao Er holding a gun to his back, forcing him to walk forward.

”You’re Shen Bin, right? I remember hearing Shen Qi talk about you often,” An Ran shivered from the rain and spoke to the person behind her.

Shen Bin, one hand controlling An Ran and the other pressing on his bleeding shoulder, occasionally scanned their surroundings. Hearing An Ran’s words, he paused slightly, then gruffly said, ”Shut up, be quiet, stop talking nonsense.”

But An Ran seemed not to hear the man’s words, lightly raising the corners of her lips as she continued, ”Shen Qi loves her brother very much. I remember she told us how, as a child, she was bullied by classmates who called her a wild child without parents. Her brother would fight those kids for her, sometimes one-on-one, sometimes against a group. Even when he was outnumbered and beaten, he would wait until his wounds healed and then seek them out again. He would wait near the school for those kids to be alone and beat them one by one. In the end, no one called her a wild child again, and no one dared to bully her.”

Perhaps remembering something, Shen Bin did not stop An Ran but listened quietly as the girl’s gentle voice softly recounted his and his sister’s cherished memories.

”You know, when I heard Shen Qi say this, I was so envious. I’m also an orphan. Even though I was adopted, life with my adoptive parents wasn’t easy. I didn’t have any real siblings. My adoptive parents had a son and a daughter, and that sister with whom I had no blood ties—well, I was so envious of Shen Qi. Even though she had no parents, she had a brother who loved her.”
