Peerless Medical Emperor

Terrified, Yang Anna cowered on the floor, not daring to utter a single word as Qian Guangming furiously questioned her.

”What do I always tell you professionals? We in the legal field must operate within the bounds of the law, and we must never cross the line. Did you just let my words go in one ear and out the other? Never mind the arrogant, domineering bodyguards you hired, but you even ordered them to search a woman. Who gave you the audacity? Who gave you the right?”

Yang Anna didn’t dare say a word. She knew that this time, she had messed with the wrong person.

’It’s one thing to mount a defense within the confines of the law,’ she thought. ’That isn’t wrong. But to have my own bodyguards harass the plaintiff, and then to bribe an investigator to coerce them into going home... that was a massive transgression.’

’Doing something like that to an ordinary person might have been overlooked, but who knew I’d run into someone this powerful?’

The bodyguards she had hired were dragged out by the law firm’s security like dead dogs and forced to their knees.

Chen Yuan said coldly, ”We are all people of the law here. I’d rather not resort to extralegal means. These men committed illegal search and illegal detention. As senior legal professionals, you should know how this needs to be handled.”

Qian Guangming immediately ordered his deputy general manager, Zhao Hai, ”Take every last one of these snobbish bodyguards and hand them over to the authorities. Fifteen days of detention. If they’re out a single day sooner, I’ll hold you personally responsible!”

Once the bodyguards had been cleared away, Chen Yuan was finally satisfied. ”My master has said that since you all operate within the bounds of the law, he has no desire to push things too far. Senior Counsel Yang, my master now wishes to hire you as his legal consultant. He needs your help getting his adoptive mother’s purchased property back. Can you do it?”

Hearing no response, an enraged Qian Guangming kicked Yang Anna.

”Playing dumb won’t save you! He’s asking you a question!”

”I can! I can!”

Chen Yuan glanced at Chen Qingdi before continuing his inquiry.

”I hear the terms you managed to secure guarantee delivery of the property... in seventy-eight years?”

Yang Anna was drenched in a cold sweat.

”That was a scheme by the developers! We can sue them!”

Chen Yuan sneered. ”They say you have quite the silver tongue. This lawsuit is all yours, then. The delivery is already several months overdue. If you can secure the property, you may become the Lord Imperial Physician’s legal consultant. If you fail... there will be no place left for you in the legal profession.”

On behalf of Chen Qingdi, Chen Yuan went inside and signed an engagement contract with Senior Counsel Yang Anna.

As for how they would investigate, gather evidence, and file the suit, Chen Qingdi couldn’t care less.

He then turned and flew his plane to the Money Shop that had provided the loan. By this point, Chen Yuan had already uncovered the secrets of the Money Shop’s under-the-table dealings.

The spectacle of his arrival at the Money Shop sent the general manager scrambling downstairs to greet him.

Upon learning that his visitor was the Lord Imperial Physician from Medical God Island, the man’s politeness increased tenfold.

Chen Yuan swept a cold gaze over the manager.

”Medical God Island has approximately three hundred million on deposit with your Money Shop. The master himself requires the funds urgently, so we must withdraw it all today!”

The manager broke out in a sweat. ”Steward Chen, please, listen to me. Standard procedure requires half a month’s advance notice for any withdrawal over thirty thousand!”

Chen Yuan sneered. ”Fine. I’ll come back in half a month to make the withdrawal. If you can’t produce the money then, I’ll be back to settle the score.”

Without another word, he turned and walked out, not lingering in the slightest.

”Master, where is our next stop?”

”To the Integrity Real Estate Company. Find their president.”

Chen Yuan immediately made a call, but when they arrived at the headquarters of Integrity Real Estate Company, they found the place completely abandoned.

Everything had been cleared out. From the sales office to every other department, not a soul was in sight.

They tried calling the general manager at the number left on file, but it was out of service.

Chen Qingdi let out a cold laugh. ”Teaming up to play games with me, are you? Fine. If you want to play, then I’ll be happy to play along.”

He said to Chen Yuan, ”Within three days, drag the general manager of the Integrity Real Estate Company to my Yuding Mountain Villa. I want to ask him exactly what he thinks he’s doing.”

After giving the order, he had someone summon Yang Anna.

”This real estate company you’re now representing... why has their man disappeared? Can you still file the lawsuit?”

Yang Anna grimaced. ”The boss has skipped town. Even if we file a suit, if we can’t find the defendant, there’s no one to enforce a judgment against. Our hands are tied!”

Chen Qingdi’s expression turned grim. ”You just focus on filing the suit. As for them... even if they run to the ends of the earth, I’ll have them dragged back.”

When the complaint was submitted to the court, they were told it couldn’t be accepted without a defendant to serve.

He didn’t press the issue with them. Instead, he returned to Yuding Mountain Villa and promptly issued a Medical God Order.

”The financial backers and general manager of Integrity Real Estate have defrauded property owners of their purchase funds and have fled. All affiliates of Medical God Island are hereby ordered to hunt these individuals. A bounty is posted: for any Bounty Hunter who captures them alive, the reward is one hundred million USD. For the return of their dead bodies, the reward is fifty million.”

The moment this Medical God Order was issued, it sent shockwaves through the world.

Every Bounty Hunter in the world mobilized, beginning a global manhunt for the fugitive developers.

It was at this moment that General Manager Zhao of the Money Shop came to Yuding Mountain Villa to pay a personal visit.

Chen Qingdi didn’t put on airs. He ordered the man to be brought in and greeted him with a smile.

”President Zhao, you must be here to deliver my money. Did you have it ready all along?”

THUMP. The general manager dropped to his knees.

”Lord Imperial Physician, please, spare my life!”

Chen Qingdi’s face was like ice. ”I only want to withdraw our deposit, I’m not here for your life. There’s no need for this. I’m aware my adoptive mother, Madam Liu, took out a loan from your Money Shop. You can deduct what she owes from my deposit. I’ll pay any amount of interest you want; I don’t care how many years the repayment is! But the money I deposited in your Money Shop *must* be withdrawn. Three hundred million USD, and not a single cent less.”

General Manager Zhao said, trembling with fear.

”My lord, there’s something you don’t know. Our branch of the Money Shop has been operating at a loss for some time. The branches and the main office are all independently accountable for profits and losses. We’re on the verge of bankruptcy... we don’t have the money to give you!”

Chen Qingdi’s eyes blazed. ”Then where did my three hundred million US Dollars go?”

General Manager Zhao stammered fearfully.

”It was... by several directors on our board...”

Chen Qingdi shot to his feet, his voice dripping with venom. ”And what gives them the right? They dare to carve up *my* money?”

General Manager Zhao was scared out of his wits.

”It was the chairman who ordered it! They gave sixty percent of the money to the local officials, and the remaining forty percent was divided among several board directors and senior executives like me! The money exists on the books, but it’s not in the vault!”

Chen Qingdi sneered. ”I don’t give a damn if you ate it or divided it amongst yourselves. Three hundred million US dollars. Not one cent less. If you can’t repay it in half a month...”
