Peerless Medical Emperor

Although these men were loyal to him out of self-interest, they were also the perfect sacrificial pawns.

So, Minlai, the King of Linyi Country, immediately made the best possible choice.

He immediately sent the escapees right back to Old Street.

But at the same time, he also had a backup plan: take advantage of the Fruit Dog. When the two factions had beaten each other to a bloody pulp and both were grievously wounded, he would send in the elite troops of the Eighty-Sixth Brigade to reap the rewards.

In his heart, both Bai Jiahui and Peng Liwei were descendants of the Dragon Country. ’Those not of our kind are sure to have different loyalties.’ They had to be eliminated as soon as possible.

But Bai Jiahui, having been sent back, was unaware of the intricacies of the situation. He was still discussing with his men how to drive out Peng Liwei’s Red Flame River Anti-Deception Army.

Just then, Bai Jiahui’s son, Bai Mancang, stood up. ”Dad, we have the number one assassin, Zhao Daqiang, right here! He’s a Muay Thai master. Just give him some sharp gear, and he can assassinate the leaders of the Peng Family Army!”

Although they had diesel generators, they strictly rationed their electricity usage. After all, diesel was in short supply, and they still needed to save some for the tanks.

So, when it was time to cut the power to conserve diesel, they immediately switched to candles.

Bai Jiahui snorted. ”You think assassinating Peng Liwei is that easy? Have you forgotten how many bodyguards he has?”

Bai Mancang said to his father, ”Actually, Peng Liwei is just a buffoon. The real threat over there is that fugitive named Wang Yu! Who knows where he learned his miraculous skills, but he can save anyone who isn’t killed on the spot. We’re short on doctors and medicine, but their wounded get treated. As they grow stronger and we grow weaker, we’ll be completely screwed!”

Bai Jiahui’s eyes lit up.

”Are you saying the first one we should kill is this Wang Yu?”

”If Wang Yu doesn’t die, our troubles will never end! That bastard is basically a cheat code!”

Having received his orders, Zhao Daqiang snuck out of Old Street City. Disguised as a Forest Hunter from Linyi Country and carrying a hunting rifle, he headed straight for the Red Flame River Anti-Deception Army’s location.

However, he hadn’t gone far before he fell into a trap set by the Anti-Deception Army.

He claimed to be a local hunter who had lost his way.

Someone said to him, ”Looking at the calluses on your fists, you must be a professional fighter. How did you end up as a hunter?”

He replied obediently to the one who had captured him.

”All the money I won from fighting was scammed away. I had no way to make a living, so I had to come out here and hunt to get by.”

The men revealed their identities. ”We are the Red Flame River Alliance Army. If you were really a victim of a scam, why not join us?”

When Peng Liwei heard the man was a victim of a scam, he felt an immediate kinship with him. He had him join the army’s movements, telling him, ”You can help transport some of the heavy supplies.”

Zhao Daqiang was overjoyed. He was now one step closer to completing his mission.

After another round of artillery fire, the Anti-Deception Army had three more wounded soldiers.

Chen Qingdi’s hands were swift. In no time at all, he had treated all three soldiers. It would take ten to fifteen days for them to fully recover, but their lives were no longer in danger.

Zhao Daqiang witnessed all of this from the side.

’Excellent. So this is the medic of the Red Flame River rebels,’ he thought. ’As long as I take him out, the Anti-Deception Army’s death rate will skyrocket. In a war of attrition, they won’t be able to outlast us!’

If it weren’t for the fact that there were too many people around and no opportunity to strike, he would have rushed out, locked the man in a chokehold, and driven a knee into his lower body to cripple him instantly.

After a long day’s work, he returned to his barracks to rest.

A short while later, it was his turn for sentry duty. He used this time to sneak over to Chen Qingdi’s tent.

He heard thunderous snores coming from inside and was delighted. He quietly slit the tent’s canvas with a combat knife and rushed in.

With lightning speed, he pinned down the person sleeping on the bed and viciously stabbed them in the heart several times. The person died without so much as a grunt.

He then cut off the person’s head. Just as he turned to leave, he heard a lazy voice from the entrance.

”Did I say you could leave?”

Pi Ziyang looked up and saw a very thin young man standing before him, looking exactly like the picture they had been given.

”You’re that so-called Divine Physician, Wang Yu?”

Chen Qingdi sneered. ”To you, it’s Grandpa Wang!”

Zhao Daqiang rushed forward. He grabbed Chen Qingdi’s shoulders and drove a knee toward his lower abdomen.

However, before the blow could land, he suddenly felt something sting his knee, and then he couldn’t move it at all.

Chen Qingdi seized the opportunity to kick him viciously in the crotch. While it wasn’t a nut-shattering blow, it was enough to make him scream in pain and collapse on the ground.

Just then, a miner’s lamp was switched on inside the tent. This type of lamp ran entirely on batteries, so it worked even during a power outage.

Several members of the Anti-Deception Army who had been lying in ambush nearby came to the bed to see who had died.

When they looked at the bed, they all stared at each other in stunned silence. The victim was a young master from one of the Four Great Clans whom they had taken captive.

Zhao Daqiang had mistaken the poor guy for Chen Qingdi, and now he was dead, with several stab wounds in his body.

Peng Liwei came out. ”Divine Physician, what should we do with this guy?”

A nearby team member raised a gun, aimed it at Zhao Daqiang’s head, and was about to fire when Chen Qingdi shook his head.

”It would be a real shame to execute such a fine specimen.”

Peng Liwei was incredulous. ”Divine Physician, this is the assassin who just tried to kill you!”

Chen Qingdi whispered a few words in Peng Liwei’s ear, and Peng Liwei’s eyes widened.

”Divine Physician, only you could come up with an idea like that! What’s the difference between this and making him a human bomb?”

Chen Qingdi shook his head. ”There’s a fundamental difference. I’m not actually strapping a bomb to him. After all, his skills are quite impressive. If he doesn’t turn over a new leaf and become useful to us, then what good is he to me?”

Following Chen Qingdi’s instructions, the team members somehow found some old, dried soybeans. With one person using a speculum to help, they stuffed the soybeans into the man’s anus.

Then, the Divine Physician used his exquisite suturing skills to sew him shut.

”Make this guy drink plenty of water. When the time is right, dump him back in Old Street County Town!”

Zhao Daqiang was sewn up tight. He was currently unconscious and felt nothing.

He remained unconscious for about two days. Estimating that the drug’s effects were about to wear off, Chen Qingdi had his men use a drone to carry him back to Old Street County Town.

Spotting a courtyard in the villa complex of the Four Great Clans, the drone quietly descended, dropped Zhao Daqiang off, and then flew away unnoticed.

Not long after he was dropped there, the assembled private soldiers spotted the unconscious Zhao Daqiang.

”Isn’t this our top assassin, Mr. Zhao Daqiang? What’s he doing lying here? Get him inside, quickly!”
