Peerless Medical Emperor

Ye Shi Yi shook her head. ”What about the money you gave me last time? I haven’t even spent all of those tens of millions yet. It should be enough to open a fitness club and buy all the equipment.”

The two of them had been talking for a long time, but there was still no sign of Lin Qingmeng.

”Where did Qing Meng go?”

”Qing Meng wants to open a medical clinic. She’s even hired the physician who makes the sugar figures. She’s running around getting the approvals, so she went out with Mrs. Lin early this morning.”

Chen Qingdi nodded. ”Sis, come with me. I want to see how your yoga practice is coming along.”

The third floor of this standalone villa was a fitness room. Because it was a large, single-level floor, it had its own swimming pool, table tennis court, yoga area, and other sports facilities. They didn’t need to go to another club to work out.

Noticing that several of Ye Shi Yi’s maids were following them, he said to the young women, ”You can all leave us for now. I have something to discuss with my big sister.”

These were people Chen Qingdi had hired to take care of the villa. They bowed to Chen Qingdi, turned, and withdrew.

They walked over to a pommel horse nearby, and Chen Qingdi paused, surprised to suddenly see Ye Shi Yi perform a few graceful gymnastic moves.

”Sis, I never knew you were so agile. When did you learn this?”

Before, Ye Shi Yi had been too busy making a living to have time to take care of her body. Once she had more money, she signed up for a class.

Whether it was yoga or gymnastics, she learned them all quite proficiently.

Hearing her explanation, Chen Qingdi nodded.

”I’m not really into any of this stuff. I still prefer acupuncture dummies and punching bags.”

Ye Shi Yi smiled elegantly. ”Then please, little brother, demonstrate a set for us.”

Chen Qingdi didn’t perform, instead saying to her, ”Actually, what I’d really like to see is my big sister’s yoga performance!”

Ye Shi Yi turned and left. When she returned, she had changed into a one-piece swimsuit.

She walked over to the yoga mat, her back to Chen Qingdi, and was just about to begin.

Suddenly, she felt a hand reach out from behind her and grip her neck tightly!

Her mouth opened, but before she could scream, she was already suffocating. Not a sound escaped.

She tried to push the person behind her away, but her limbs felt weak and powerless.

Chen Qingdi had performed the move subconsciously, applying the same standards he would use against an enemy.

He had expected Ye Shi Yi to resist violently, to even fight for her life, but he had taken her down with surprising ease, as if she had no defenses at all.

When he realized Ye Shi Yi didn’t have the aura of a trained martial artist, he grew suspicious, and his grip involuntarily loosened.

THUMP. Ye Shi Yi collapsed onto the yoga mat.

Chen Qingdi quickly knelt, gathered Ye Shi Yi into his arms, and gently administered first aid.

Ye Shi Yi’s face was pale with terror as she looked at Chen Qingdi. She could have never imagined that her ”little brother,” who had always been so respectful, would actually attack her.

”You... you...”

Chen Qingdi asked with a grave expression, ”In the five years since we broke up, have you been secretly practicing martial arts?”

Tears streamed down Ye Shi Yi’s face.

”If I really knew martial arts, would I have been bullied by that guy surnamed Zheng outside?”

Chen Qingdi suddenly recalled saving Ye Shi Yi from that Zheng fellow. She had indeed been completely helpless, showing no sign of any martial arts ability.

Otherwise, even if she was the best actress in the world, her instinctive reactions in a life-or-death situation wouldn’t lie.

So he placed his hand on her wrist to check her pulse again, but he couldn’t feel the energy flow of a martial artist.

’Did I really misunderstand Big Sis? Has she always been this proper and law-abiding?’

So, he asked with a dark expression, ”Did you go out just now?”

Ye Shi Yi sensed something was off with Chen Qingdi but didn’t know what had happened. Tears welled up in her eyes, but she stubbornly refused to let them fall, answering with a sense of deep grievance.

”I’ve been wanting to open a fitness center recently, so I’ve been cramming on the subject. I just finished an online course in business management and came out here to work out when I ran into you. When would I have had time to go out?”

Chen Qingdi said apologetically, ”Sis, it’s not that I want to be cruel to you. Something very strange happened today. If you don’t believe me, look...”

It turned out that when Chen Qingdi had parked his car, the dashcam had perfectly recorded the fight scene in front of the store.

When Ye Shi Yi saw another version of herself appear on the screen, locked in a life-or-death battle with Chen Qingdi, she was stunned speechless. She hugged Chen Qingdi tightly.

”Little brother, you have to believe me, that’s not me! If I were really that skilled, I would’ve slaughtered those bastards who bullied my mom back then!”

Seeing her terrified and aggrieved expression, Chen Qingdi picked her up and gently consoled her.

’To be honest, I didn’t completely believe it was you, but this matter is extremely important, so I had no choice but to come and investigate it thoroughly.’

Ye Shi Yi said, deeply hurt, ”So, have you finished your investigation now?”

Chen Qingdi nodded. ”That woman looks like you, but the look in her eyes, that viciousness when she kills... it’s completely different from you! You two are completely different people!”

”Little brother!”

Ye Shi Yi hugged Chen Qingdi and began to sob. It took Tang San a long time to console her and stop her tears.

”Since this person is impersonating you, they must have some scheme. To avoid being used by them, you absolutely must not go out alone for a while. If you have to go out, you have to call me.”

”Mm.”

The two of them, sister and brother, stayed in the gym for a long while after that.

Don’t get the wrong idea.

Ye Shi Yi was practicing yoga the whole time, while Chen Qingdi was continuously correcting her form.

Before long, Lin Zhongxue and Lin Qingmeng returned from their shopping trip.

The mother and daughter were naturally delighted to see that Chen Qingdi was back, and they exchanged pleasantries with him for a while.

Then, the two of them saw Ye Shi Yi in her loungewear and were shocked.

”You’re back so soon?”

The ”sister and brother” exchanged a look. They both realized that the woman who looked like Ye Shi Yi might have already crossed paths with these two.

”I haven’t gone out at all!”

”That’s strange!”

Lin Qingmeng wore an expression of utter disbelief.

”When Mom and I were coming back from grocery shopping, we clearly saw a woman who looked exactly like Big Sis walking into a hotel with several successful-looking men. And that woman’s status seemed incredibly high—those successful men didn’t even dare to breathe too loudly in front of her, and they kept calling her ’Miss’!”

Ye Shi Yi shot up as if someone had stepped on her tail.

”Little brother, I’m not lying to you! I really didn’t go out! The person you saw wasn’t me, and I would never dare to kill anyone!”

Seeing Ye Shi Yi so agitated, Chen Qingdi quickly tried to calm her down.

”Killing? What’s this about killing?”
