Peerless Medical Emperor

One day, Fang Jiahao privately confronted Chen Qingdi with a threat.

”You’re just a lowly assistant. Don’t overestimate yourself, and don’t do things you shouldn’t. Otherwise, one day you’ll die a miserable death, and you won’t even know how it happened.”

Chen Qingdi just smiled and replied, ”You’re right. I’m just an insignificant assistant. The fact that you’re coming after me because you can’t get the girl is just pathetic.”

His words sent Fang Jiahao into a rage, but he knew Chen Qingdi had seen right through him.

He had no choice but to rein in his temper for the time being and leave the office.

When Madam Shen heard about this, she angrily questioned Shen Mingyue, ”Why do you always reject Fang Jiahao? You’re not getting any younger. What kind of man are you even looking for?”

Shen Mingyue replied, ”You may be my mother, but I don’t need anyone else arranging my life for me.”

Madam Shen said with displeasure, ”Are you telling me you want to spend the rest of your life with an assistant? No matter how great that Yang Yang is, he’s not good enough for you. You need to marry a good man to change your fate.”

Not wanting to argue, Shen Mingyue turned and walked out of the office. ’I need to have a proper talk with Chen Qingdi,’ she thought.

That evening, Shen Mingyue arranged to meet Chen Qingdi at a coffee shop. She got straight to the point, asking, ”Cyan Emperor, why are you working as my assistant?”

Chen Qingdi answered coolly, ”Because I want to protect you. Besides, isn’t laying low and hiding our identities the best choice for us right now?”

Shen Mingyue was a little touched, but she said firmly, ”Doing this will only bring you a lot of trouble, and I’m being forced into these matchmaking dates...”

Chen Qingdi smiled. ”I know, but I don’t care. I also know you won’t actually go through with any of them, right?”

Shen Mingyue didn’t want to argue about it anymore and asked, ”Are you planning to be my assistant forever?”

Chen Qingdi was silent for a moment before replying, ”I don’t know what the future holds, but I will always be by your side.”

While Chen Qingdi was resting, he received a call from the company office.

On the other end of the line, the frantic voice of his manager rang out, ”Assistant Yang, get to the office right away. You need to pick up a file for President Shen.”

”Okay, I’m on my way.” He hung up, but a sense of unease settled in his heart.

Recently, Shen Mingyue’s health had been poor, and she had been recuperating at home. He worried this urgent call meant something more serious had happened.

He hurried to the company on his bicycle, his mind unsettled as he thought about Shen Mingyue the whole way.

Suddenly, a chill ran down his spine as a sense of danger filled him. His eyes narrowed. A group of thugs armed with short clubs and daggers suddenly appeared before him.

”If you don’t want to die, don’t try anything stupid!” a burly man shouted viciously. Chen Qingdi’s heart tightened. He knew these thugs wouldn’t give up until they got what they wanted.

He took a deep breath, forcing himself to remain calm, and said, ”Big brothers, I’m just a regular office assistant. I don’t have any money.”

”Cut the crap! Come with us quietly, or we’ll make sure you die a nasty death!” another thug threatened, pressing a knife against the small of his back.

Chen Qingdi laughed bitterly to himself. ’As if this little trick could scare me.’

’It would be easy to take care of them, but I’m curious to see what they’re playing at.’ Chen Qingdi shook his head helplessly and had no choice but to follow them.

He was taken all the way to a secluded spot in the suburbs, where the thugs began to dig a pit. Chen Qingdi was puzzled. ’What are they doing? Are they really going to kill me?’

”Listen up! If you dare to be a toad lusting after a swan’s flesh again, we’ll bury you right here!” one of the thugs roared viciously.

Chen Qingdi was startled. ’A toad lusting after a swan’s flesh? What does that mean? Could they know about my relationship with Shen Mingyue? No, that’s impossible!’

He wracked his brain, trying to recall if he had ever let any information slip, but he couldn’t think of any mistakes. He decided to wait and see what they were really up to.

Once the pit was dug, the thugs shoved Chen Qingdi to the edge. ”Start digging!” a large man roared.

Chen Qingdi complied. As he dug, he paid close attention to the thugs’ conversation. From their chatter, he learned that their target wasn’t him, but Shen Mingyue.

They had learned that Shen Mingyue’s health was poor recently and planned to use him as leverage to force her into submission.

Chen Qingdi felt a wave of relief, but it was immediately followed by a surge of worry. These thugs were too brazen. If they succeeded in their goal, Shen Mingyue’s safety would be in jeopardy.

”Alright! Fill the dirt back in!” the leader of the thugs ordered. Chen Qingdi began to shovel dirt back into the pit. His mind was racing, and he finally came up with a plan.

He secretly grabbed a handful of dirt, packed it into a tight ball in his fist, and waited for an opportunity to throw it in one of the thugs’ faces.

”AHHH!” The thug screamed and covered his eyes, and the others fell into disarray. Seizing the opportunity, Chen Qingdi lunged at them, felling several thugs with a few quick punches.

He then turned to the leader and said, ”You can go back and tell your master this: Swan’s flesh isn’t so easy to eat. I can eat it, but if you lot try, you’ll get indigestion.”

As Chen Qingdi stood in this desolate place, his only thought was to leave. But suddenly, he spotted a figure in the distance. Even though the person’s back was turned, Chen Qingdi’s heart seized. It was the young master of the Fang Family, Fang Jiahao.

’That bastard actually hired people to ambush me!’ Chen Qingdi cursed inwardly, his anger flaring in an instant.

He threw out both fists simultaneously. A powerful force erupted from them, striking the thugs who were already on the ground.

Struck by Chen Qingdi’s Flying Dragon Fist, they gasped in pain before he kicked them one by one into the pit.

Seeing things go south, Fang Jiahao immediately tried to pull open his car door and escape, but Chen Qingdi was already on him in a flash.

A single Flying Dragon Fist slammed heavily into his leg, crippling him and sending him crashing to the ground.

Without a word, Chen Qingdi hooked his foot under Fang Jiahao’s body, flicked him into the air, and kicked him into the pit as well. Then, he got into a bulldozer and buried them all up to their chests.

Chen Qingdi tapped Young Master Fang’s face with the toe of his shoe, his eyes sharp as he asked, ”Fang Jiahao, why did you plot against me?”

Buried in the dirt, his face a mask of pain and terror, Fang Jiahao looked up at Chen Qingdi, his eyes flickering with a mixture of venomous hatred and fear.

He ground out through clenched teeth, ”Yang Yang, you stinking brat! How dare you provoke the Fang Family! I’ll make you pay!”
