Treasure Hunting System： The Ocean Conquerer

After listening to Bishop Safleff’s brief report.

Everyone in the room couldn’t help falling into thought.

Both Alka and the newly arrived Secret Spellcasting Council had to run through the information they currently knew in their minds, filtering it once over.

After a short while, Safleff continued, ”Aside from this main Landmark Island, the other Islands linked to it have likewise seen outbreaks of this kind of Flesh calamity.

It’s just that compared to the Landmark Island these disasters are far more obviously inferior, but the problem is that even on the other Islands the power able to resist them is even scarcer.”

As he spoke, he took a report form from a scholar beside him.

”The White Man Island island chain links to a total of six Islands, and of these six, four have now become Flesh nests, just like White Man Island.

As for the remaining two, it’s because there happened to be personnel on the Islands executing missions who wiped out the Flesh at the root, so these two Islands are now our only safe Islands in this sea region.”

He said this, then turned his head to look at Alka and added, ”The Island on which the Tower of Trial you need is located is not one of the linked Islands, but it just happens to be within the island-chain sea region as well, and has likewise been occupied.”

Hearing this, Alka nodded.

He had already seen it in the Revelation earlier; ever since realizing that what the Revelation spoke of was precisely this objective of theirs, he had been mentally prepared, so he was not surprised.

”Since you have already cleared away the Flesh calamities on those two Islands, have you figured out where the power behind such disasters comes from?”

Council Chair Anres asked from the side.

This was an extremely important question.

If he were asking members of other factions, they might not necessarily be clear, but he was asking the Holy Machine Church, and the Church had many scholars.

Since They had already cleared the Flesh calamities from two Islands, it was very likely They already had some understanding of the origin of this Flesh problem.

Who would have thought Safleff would shake his head and say regretfully, ”That is precisely where the problem lies; if we knew the source, it would be much better.

The outbreak was far too sudden, and we lost too many members; much of our energy was spent merely coping with these Flesh monsters.

The reason the Flesh disasters on those two Islands were eliminated is that they never fully erupted. One of them was cleared away right at the initial outbreak; the affected area was very small, scarcely more than a single residential building.

As for the other Flesh outbreak, for reasons unknown—perhaps insufficient energy, perhaps the wrong location chosen on the Island—just as it began to spread, it soon died out on its own.”

Hearing this, everyone more or less understood.

In other words, the clearing of those two outbreak Islands was something of an accidental occurrence.

”However, the only thing we know at present is that the ritual forming the source of the Flesh outbreak is essentially triggered by the Cultists themselves.

In other words, it arises from problems with their own Flesh and souls.

We don’t know about the other Islands, but on just these two, the source of the outbreak was a group of six Cultists who achieved their objective by offering themselves in sacrifice.

And according to our investigation, each Cultist had reached Third Stage Perfection, the normal peak for a Touched individual.”

After listening to Bishop Safnov’s words.

The atmosphere once again fell silent.

Everyone began thinking anew based on the additional information they had obtained.

”When I arrived just now I observed a little—this Flesh Island... is it moving?” Council Chair Anres frowned, asking somewhat gravely.

Safnov nodded. ”Correct. That is the most serious problem, especially at a time like this.”

Having heard Safleff’s definite answer, Anres leaned heavily back against his chair, raised a hand to rub at his brow. Clearly, the implications of this news were extremely grave.

At these words, Alka couldn’t help but knit his brows and begin thinking deeper.

Would the movement of an Island cause some kind of severe problem?

No... it’s not just any Island moving, it’s the Landmark Island moving that will bring enormous trouble.

Although Alka and the others had never studied it in detail, They roughly knew that each Landmark Island and its island chain was extremely important to the entire Endless Sea.

Because what is at stake is not merely the Island itself, but the whole Endless Sea; even the Dream Realm is cooperating to a certain extent.

Although the Endless Sea at this stage is extremely chaotic, at least within the chaos there is a certain degree of stability and order. And that stability and order are precisely what these Landmark Islands and their island chains provide.

This was what Alka had come to understand.

But he had never delved deeply into the specific mysteries, nor specifically studied or inquired about them.

So he could not help but ask, curious.

”So the movement of the Island causes some serious malfunction in the functions of the Landmark Island itself?”

At Alka’s question, Anres and Safleff both raised their heads and glanced at him.

There was a hint of puzzlement in their eyes, perhaps amazed that Alka did not know.

Seeing this, Alka gave a brief explanation. ”I roughly understand the importance of Landmark Islands, but I’m not very clear on their specific operating principles and procedures.”

On hearing this, Safleff nodded. The members present at this meeting were all trustworthy and important, so he did not conceal anything and said directly, ”The system formed by Landmark Islands and their island chains was jointly constructed by the Four Gods.
