Treasure Hunting System： The Ocean Conquerer

The sound came from a direction right in front of them.

Just below the tower, only a few hundred meters away, yet the demon’s voice seemed to echo right by their ears.

The figure of the Devouring Mouth emerged from the darkness ahead, its emergence marked by the characteristic teleportation gate, resembling the mouth of a worm.

Under Chadite’s control, the pure white moonlight gathered on the Devouring Mouth, completely locking it in place.

”Whoa, whoa, don’t get excited, I’m ready to face my end!” the Devouring Mouth said with a grin.

Under the moonlight, Alka’s attention wasn’t solely on the Devouring Mouth but also on the nearby Tower of Trial. The only reason he could think of for the Devouring Mouth appearing here was this tower, so he first observed its integrity.

On the surface of the Tower of Trial, Alka noticed many attack marks. Numerous scratches covered it, and these marks were very new, apparently just inflicted.

”So you came here intending to destroy this tower?” Alka asked directly.

Upon hearing Alka’s question, the Devouring Mouth showed a smile and said, ”You’re getting smarter, Alka.”

”Think about how you all inexplicably left the World Scar without taking me down, isn’t that strange?”

”Because you hid yourself, afraid of being taken down by me and never being able to revive, terrified you hid so I couldn’t find you, and I had no means,” Alka sneered lightly at the Devouring Mouth.

Facing Alka’s taunt, the Devouring Mouth was utterly indifferent.

”No means, my friend. Previously, I was too busy looking for allies, or how else could I destroy your world?

Now see, I’ve found my allies, they’ve begun their attack, and naturally, I have time to come and see what exactly you’re doing?”

As he spoke, he patted the tower beside him.

”This thing belongs to the God of Trial? It really triggers memories in me.

What I loved to do in the past was sneak into these Towers of Trial and become a target for a specific level, then torture the trial-goers fiercely, planting seeds of darkness in their hearts or even luring them directly into the Abyss.

The flavor of soul harvesting was exquisite.

Every time, this idiot would go into a furious rage.

What a pity those beautiful days are gone forever.”

After speaking, his tone shifted and he punched the stone tower’s shell, but besides a bit of wear, it suffered no impact whatsoever.

”But no Tower of Trial could ever be constructed so robustly, so this Tower of Trial is different.

With the God of Trial dead, it can still operate.

So you all collecting these towers, is there any use?”

”Once I’ve completed the collection, you’ll know.”

Alka’s figure appeared unknowingly beside the Devouring Mouth, clutching his throat.

Witnessing Alka about to finish him off, the Devouring Mouth showed no worry.

Because from the moment Alka arrived, he knew he couldn’t escape.

In truth, he hadn’t thought Alka would arrive so swiftly, just by chance.

Originally, he intended to keep his identity concealed and quietly examine the tower’s situation, then think of a way to set traps.

But it seemed he was too unlucky.

If he left at this moment, he would leave a trace of his presence behind. With Alka and their abilities, they would surely realize he had been there, so whether he left or not, it would be exposed all the same.

After all, his strength outside the World Scar was at most Sixth Stage, posing no threat to Alka, who had already advanced to the Seventh Stage.

He mainly intended to find a way to disgust Alka.

”What a pity, not telling me counts for nothing.”

Alka spoke little, disinclined to waste words. A mass of cloud substance and elemental energy infused in.

Though this was a body split off by the Devouring Mouth, to possess sufficient power, it must be filled with a portion of the soul.

The entire body exploded into fragments.

Subsequently, these fragments transformed into a card in the shape of a mirror, sealed within was a reddish haze cloud.

This was a part of the Devouring Mouth’s soul.

Despite the casual demeanor earlier at his death, now he’s likely writhing in pain at the World Scar.

The agony of soul splitting stands as the peak of all suffering.

Exactly as Alka thought.

Flying through the sky, the Devouring Mouth suddenly fell, suffering feedback from the demise of his avatar. He crashed into a forest area, groaning in pain while rolling on the ground.

After a long time, he slowly stood up.

Memories transmitted from the avatar’s death appeared in his mind, and along with the avatar’s demise, the soul did not return.

No need to probe memories, he could certainly guess it clashed with Alka.

Beside him stood a demon he had never seen before.

”In such pain? Your avatar outside was taken down?” Clearly, he understood.

He easily perceived the cause of the Devouring Mouth’s severe pain.

Devouring Mouth glanced at him, nodding slightly, then slowly crawled back to his feet.

”Incomprehensible, we just need to gather our power to break through here. The entire world will fall completely into our hands.
