Twin Treasures: The CEO Wife's 99-Day of Revelations

Chapter 650: Chapter 650: Leaning in His Arms

Especially during the height of summer, playing barefoot in the pond, shouting under the waterfall, it is a rare pleasure.

So, Finn Morgan and Hailey Hale, on their way up, always encounter young people coming and going, as well as some families.

Though deep in the mountains, it is not lonely.

The blue stone steps lead upwards, one side against the mountain, the other with ponds, some strange-shaped large stones standing in the water where people step to take photos.

The further up they go, the steeper the mountain path becomes, with some holding the railing, and others holding hands.

”Give me your hand!” Finn offered, extending his large palm towards her.

Hailey glanced at him, hesitated not a moment, and placed her small hand into his palm.

The moment their hands clasped, warmth flowed from palm to palm.

With the cool mountain breeze, Hailey followed Finn step by step over those stones half-leg high. It was too steep to dare looking down.

The sound of the waterfall grew nearer, more magnificent.

Like tiny droplets of mist that could be felt on their faces, it was refreshingly cool.

”Be careful, the steps are starting to accumulate water, step steadily,” Finn reminded her as he proceeded, ”You can step where I have stepped.”

She said nothing; she was afraid of heights!

She dared not look down; it was too steep! Her palms were sweating.

The waterfall’s sound was close at hand; perseverance is victory.

A glance upwards could see the stream cascading down from the mountaintop. She tightened her grip on his hand, not wanting him to look down on her.

The first large pool beneath the waterfall, with water flowing downwards again forming smaller waterfalls and pools... gradually turning into a creek.

Beneath the waterfall, many people were swimming, and along the shore were some peculiar large stones with people perched atop them for photos.

Finn pulled Hailey onto the final stone, they had finally climbed up!

But she was dizzy before her eyes, tilting forward, perfectly into his embrace.

Finn was taken aback.

She reached out to hug his waist, ”...” Her legs felt weak.

”What’s wrong?” Finn furrowed his brow slightly, holding her securely.

”I’m just recovering...” Hailey was still conscious, just leaning against him, trying hard to regain her composure, catching a faint fragrance from him, feeling a sense of security.

Finn didn’t rush her; he stood as straight as a pine tree, being her strongest support.

This was perhaps their closest encounter since they started being together.

Finn’s face stiffened slightly, feeling somewhat out of place, his heartbeat irregular, as this was a scene he hadn’t anticipated.

Not far away, a seasoned photographer was snapping scenery shots... and Finn and Hailey unwittingly ended up in his lens.

”Huh?” As he selected photos, his eyes lit up, squinting to take a closer look.

These two embracing individuals were indeed a pretty sight amongst the landscape.

So he switched angles and intentionally took two more photos. The two were so photogenic that even a casual snap turned out beautifully.

It had been a long time since he had taken such great photos; it was simply perfect.

”Feeling better?” Finn tried releasing her hand, holding her shoulder, ”How do you feel?”

Hailey looked up from his embrace, pouting, ”I’m afraid of heights, sorry.” She restrained herself from looking down.

Finn met her gaze, shaking his head to comfort, ”There’s nothing to be sorry about. Climbing up is a victory. Some people faint at the sight of blood, some fear heights, others are face blind; it’s all normal.”

The sound of water surrounded them, she slowly turned her eyes towards the majestic waterfall, feeling an urge to play in the water, so she stepped forward.

”Don’t go into the water.” Finn seemed to see through her thoughts and reminded her.

”Why not?” She turned her eyes to give him a glance.

Finn caught up, ”The water here is very cold, if your constitution isn’t strong enough, you could catch a cold going back.”

”How do you know my constitution isn’t strong?” She asked with a laugh.

He blurted out, ”Just in case, what if you catch a fever in this remote mountain forest? There wouldn’t even be a hospital.”

Seeing him chatter like a nagging mom, the girl couldn’t help but laugh, ”Are you worried about me?” Her smile was sweet, her eyes seemed to hold stars.

Not far away, that photographer seemed to be fixated on them, snapping a few more photos, not maliciously but simply because they were so photogenic, impossible not to capture.
