Twin Treasures: The CEO Wife's 99-Day of Revelations

Chapter 620: Chapter 620: Might Stir Up Trouble

Hailey Hale turned her gaze toward the car window, saying somewhat wistfully, ”I haven’t had my first taste of crawfish this summer, working overtime every day, feels like we’re going to work till the end of time.”

The car fell silent for a few seconds.

Originally, Hailey didn’t have any hopes; she was just feeling a bit of a craving.

”Then let’s arrange it now,” Finn Morgan recalled the time she brought him cake, his heart softening; it seemed only fair to repay the favor.

The girl suddenly turned her gaze, looking at him in amazement!

Only to see him holding the steering wheel, calmly looking ahead, as if he hadn’t said anything at all.

But she definitely heard him, ”Sure!” She was very happy, and quite looking forward to it.

Finn drove the car, the corners of his lips lifting in a slight knowing smile.

Such a night was undoubtedly tranquil and beautiful.

After a while, he parked the car at the entrance of a small alley, ”Get out, we’re here.”

Hailey surveyed the scenery outside, unbuckled her seatbelt, and got out of the car, ”You brought me here? To eat street food?”

”This isn’t just any street food, it’s a rather famous old alley in Riventhal,” Finn locked the car door and introduced, ”Let’s go.”

He said, ”The environment here might not look great, but every shop has its own specialty, especially the crawfish, there are five or six stores selling them, usually packed, sometimes you even have to queue for a spot.”

”How do you know so much?” Hailey put her hands in the pockets of her yellow jacket, walked with him, turning her gaze to him, ”You seem quite familiar with this place.”

”Sometimes we meet clients here, would you believe it?” Finn asked with a smile.

She shook her head, ”I don’t believe it, isn’t meeting a client usually at some high-class venue? To show them respect.”

”Sometimes they request it themselves,” Finn chuckled, ”actually I don’t quite believe it either, but that’s the reality.”

The two began to walk deeper into the alley.

This place felt a bit like an old street, with a 1990s vibe, just a night market street, but fairly tidy.

The entrance had a barbecue stall, then there’s a shop selling clam vermicelli soup...

They walked further inside...

The outdoor spaces, about ten square meters each, in front of every shop, were full of customers.

The shop owners and their spouses were bustling about, with hardly an empty seat in sight.

Hailey, being an observant girl, walked and scanned the surroundings again, finally concluding, ”This place is quite the hodgepodge, all sorts of people are here.”

”Yeah, even the mayor’s daughter comes here,” Finn replied.

Hailey teased, ”And the executive assistant to the CEO of the Kingston Group too.”

Finn chuckled and then said to her, ”As long as you don’t run into any rowdy drunks, there won’t be any issues, everyone just eats their fill and leaves.”

Hailey noticed a few shirtless men, their skull tattoos intimidating.

Walking along, she spotted several crawfish places, ”Is that what you were talking about?” she pointed.

The signage’s neon lights were reminiscent of an 80s salon, Finn said, ”Yes, looks like that table is just about to leave.”

Finn led her forward, ”Seems we’re lucky, this place has pretty good food.”

They approached an empty table, and the plump lady boss quickly wiped it with a cloth, cheerfully saying, ”Please sit, please sit, just got vacated, what would you like?”

Hailey sat down, her easygoing nature was seen as a virtue in Finn’s eyes, definitely not a bit pretentious.

”What are you standing there for?” she looked up, urging him, ”Sit down too.”

Finn sat down, speaking gently, ”Boss, please bring us a plate of crawfish, make it mildly spicy, and two cans of beer, thank you.”

”Got it! Right away!” the lady boss replied in a loud voice, a good mood coming with brisk business.

”Why mildly spicy?” Hailey looked at him and asked calmly, ”You didn’t even ask about my preferences? You’re the one taking me out to eat, you know.”

Finn met her gaze, explaining, ”Girls need to take care of their bodies, mildly spicy won’t irritate the stomach, and it tastes good too. Don’t push yourself just because you’re young, too many chilies can cause acne.”

”Acne is like beauty bubbling over,” Hailey joked, smiling at him, happily waiting.

Soon, a large plate of spicy crawfish was served, fragrant and richly colored!

Finn took two cans of beer, ”Thank you.” He opened one and placed it in front of her.

From a bit further away, a chubby guy inadvertently glanced over, his gaze pausing, was that Hailey and that meddling guy??
