Twin Treasures: The CEO Wife's 99-Day of Revelations

Chapter 497: Chapter 497: The Great Reconciliation of the Century

The sales assistant was very pleased and continued his introduction, ”Buckyballs are strong magnetic balls with 5000 gauss magnetism. They’re particularly solid, have a rich color, and come with six layers of electroplating so they won’t fade even if played with for a long time. Use your imagination, you can play however you want. Not only do kids love them, but adults get addicted as well.”

”I’ll take two boxes!” Anton Miller thought everything should be balanced.

”Okay!” The sales assistant handed him the only two boxes in the store, ”These are released only twice a quarter, totaling three hundred thousand, and I can give you a ten percent discount.”

”Alright.” Anton Miller heard the price and didn’t even blink, ”Let me check out other things. Do you have backpacks?”

”They’re over here, designed by our designer Joy.”

”Well, let me have a look.”

...

Under the night sky, the Lamborghini was parked in the courtyard of Emerald Cove.

The people inside the car did not yet know what the scene would be like at home, nor had they fully grasped the thoughts of the mother.

They got out of the car, carrying a mix of anticipation and anxiety, and entered the living room.

”Good evening, madam.” Mary greeted her respectfully as usual.

Just having tied up her hair, Kristina Kingston stood up from the sofa, smiling, ”You’re back?” She asked before her son and daughter-in-law could speak.

Soft lighting illuminated her, and the kindness in her eyes for the first time gave everyone a sense of a loving mother.

”Mom.” Justin Kingston and Mia Lane held each other’s hands tightly, the warmth in their palms reaching out to each other as they stood in the living room.

”Auntie.” Mia Lane also spoke softly, with a faint smile, ”You could have actually had Mrs. Zhou call us earlier.”

”It’s okay.” Kristina Kingston walked towards them step by step, ”I’m just here idling anyway, and look, Gigi and Dolly are keeping me company.”

Her face was peaceful as she glanced at her son, and when she stopped her steps, her gaze fell on Mia Lane.

Mia Lane calmly met her eyes, feeling inexplicably nervous.

”What now? Still not planning to change how you address me?” Kristina Kingston asked gently, with a light smile, ”Still calling me Auntie.”

”...” Mia Lane was slightly stunned, with a surge of warmth in her chest.

Seemingly understanding her meaning, yet unsure because this change in attitude was too unexpected.

Kristina Kingston clearly stated, ”Now that you’ve taken my son away, shouldn’t you change and call me Mom?”

Mia Lane, being highly sensitive and emotional, heard this and was immediately tearful, ”Mom...” Her voice was choked.

This appellation, from the age of five, she hadn’t uttered again.

When Kristina Kingston heard this ’Mom,’ the weight in her heart finally set down, ”Mia Lane, I’m sorry, I apologize for my past behavior.”

She had gathered the courage for several days to say these words.

As the words fell, Kristina Kingston bowed in a formal salute.

”Don’t!” Mia Lane reacted quickly, releasing Justin Kingston’s hand and immediately held her by the shoulders, bowing herself, ”Mom, I should be the one apologizing to you!”

Both stood straight, Kristina Kingston released Mia Lane’s hand from her shoulder, gently holding it.

Mia Lane said, ”It’s my fault for not giving you enough time to accept us, just barging in with the child. I apologize to you, and plea for your forgiveness!”

”Alright.” She nodded, ”I accept your apology.” Then sincerely asked, ”Can you forgive me too?”

Their gazes met, and Mia Lane’s eyes couldn’t help but well up.

She spread her arms to embrace her mother-in-law; this action was the best response.

Kristina Kingston also reached out to hug her, the two embraced closely for the first time, instantly letting go of past grudges.

Nearby, Justin Kingston felt moved, a gleam of tears in his eyes, his heart was overwhelmed.

This century’s great reconciliation arrived too unexpectedly.
