Twin Treasures: The CEO Wife's 99-Day of Revelations

Chapter 489: Chapter 489: Hailey Sleeping on His Bed

Monica Usher’s voice was not loud, carrying a hint of cold accusation, ”If anyone can come up, then why bother having a security system?”

”Ms. Usher, what did you lose?” the property management asked in alarm.

”Check your surveillance yourself. It’s best to blacklist them. If anything goes missing in the community again, you property managers won’t be able to shoulder the responsibility and forget about collecting any more fees!” she exclaimed angrily before hanging up. It was merely a way to vent her frustration.

Barbara Sutton looked at her with a pale face, ”...”

”You should stay at my place tonight,” Monica Usher said, her tone softened as she looked up, ”Don’t go back.” She felt that Barbara needed a break.

”I’m sorry, Monica,” the girl was on the verge of tears, extremely apologetic, ”I shouldn’t have opened the door without checking the peephole first. I thought it was you.”

”It’s not your fault, don’t blame yourself,” Monica Usher was clear-headed, ”Since they wanted to do this, they would have come anyway. It was just a matter of time.”

”Which company are they from? How’s their offer?” Barbara Sutton was indeed young.

Monica Usher’s tone was indifferent, ”People from the R-Alan Group.”

”The R-Alan Group?” Barbara Sutton’s chest tightened suddenly, her eyes widened, ”They’re The Kingston Group’s arch-enemies! And if you join their company... what will CEO Kingston think?”

Monica Usher stood up, ”It’s getting late, you should wash up and sleep, I’m a bit tired too.” After saying that, she turned and walked into the bedroom.

Barbara Sutton was terribly upset... how could it be like this?

In the underground garage, inside a departing black SUV, a man placed the contract into a folder, then dialed the boss’s number, ”President Ingram, it’s done.”

”When will she start working?” Lydia Ingram asked.

”Tomorrow as per the contract, I also reminded her. If she doesn’t come, she’ll have to pay a sky-high penalty.”

”Good.” The other party was pleased, likely to have a good night’s sleep tonight.

The call ended, and the car drove off into the rain...

In another apartment.

Finn Morgan sat on a sofa by the window, replying to emails, his long fingers tapping on the keyboard. After finishing the emails, he set the computer aside and picked up a book.

Hailey Hale stretched next to him, almost exposing herself.

Then, with a face full of sleepiness, she looked at the sleepless man, ”Hey, there’s no guest room here, where do I sleep tonight?”

Finn Morgan looked up, ”Don’t call me hey, I’m not used to it, it feels like being a wanderer.”

The girl thought for a moment and then asked, ”Brother Finn, where do I sleep tonight?”

Nauseating!

Finn Morgan really didn’t want to tell her, ”I’ll sleep on the sofa.” He closed his book and stood up, giving her a glance before stepping outside.

Watching that back, Hailey Hale once thought she heard wrong; he actually offered her the bed?

Such a cleanliness-loving, taste-driven elegant man, how could he possibly let a stranger woman sleep in his bed?

Finn Morgan lay down on the living room sofa, adjusting the heater to a moderate temperature, covering himself only with a jacket.

Since he never hosted guests, there was no guest room, and naturally no extra blankets either.

Night, deepening.

Outside, the rain was still pouring.

Hailey Hale couldn’t resist the oncoming drowsiness, closed and locked the bedroom door, then curled up in his bed.

There was actually a faint fragrance.

That night, Monica Usher leaned against the headboard, her mind heavy, searching for listings on her phone, then put this apartment on the market with an agent for a low price.

Apart from emotionally, she was very capable in emergencies.

Early the next morning.

In Finn Morgan’s apartment.

Hailey Hale sprawled out in the soft bed, only showing half her head, like a cute big frog.

Immersed in her dreams.

Outside the door, Finn Morgan had already washed up. He twisted the doorknob, originally intending to go in for his car keys and wake her up, only to find the door was locked.

He politely knocked on the door, then listened for any movement inside.

No response.

He knocked again.

After repeatedly knocking a few times, he finally woke the girl from her sleep.

”Mm~” Hailey Hale turned over in bed, groggily hearing the knocking sound again, she opened her eyes in irritation, the unfamiliar surroundings making her brain blank out for a few seconds.

The knocking continued.

She suddenly became alert, realizing she was at Finn Morgan’s place!
