Twin Treasures: The CEO Wife's 99-Day of Revelations

Chapter 480: Chapter 480: Beginning to Reflect

”What kind of gift is it?” Kristina Kingston was somewhat expectant, her gaze falling on the small box, which was very exquisite.

”Grandma, why don’t you tell us a story first?” Gigi hid the gift box behind her back and said playfully, ”After the story, we’ll give you the gift!”

”Yes, Grandma, tell us a story first!” Dolly’s little mouth was very sweet, ”We couldn’t sleep last night without hearing a story from Grandma!”

”Yes, it was really late when we finally fell asleep.”

Kristina Kingston gazed at the two adorable children, feeling a warm flow gently running through her heart.

A kind smile appeared on her face, and she began to fulfill the children’s request, earnestly telling them a story—

”Once upon a time, there were three adorable little pigs, and they all wanted to build a beautiful house...”

About ten minutes later, the story was finished, and the children listened attentively and then clapped happily.

”Can we give the gift to Grandma now?” Kristina Kingston asked, reaching out her hands.

”You can!” The children obediently handed it over.

”But Grandma mustn’t open it!” Gigi and Dolly held down her hands that held the gift box and said in unison, ”You can only open it after going upstairs!”

What kind of gift is so mysterious?

Kristina Kingston nodded with a smile, ”Alright, alright, Grandma won’t open it.”

Then they chatted and ate mangoes.

Looking at the children’s innocent appearance, Kristina Kingston couldn’t help but ask, ”What do you think of Grandma?”

Gigi and Dolly exchanged a glance, ”...” They had to be careful with their answer.

Afraid her question was too abstract for the children to understand, she asked again, ”Is Grandma very bad?”

”No!” Dolly blurted out, ”Grandma is not bad at all! Grandma tells stories wonderfully, feels like she’s read lots and lots of books!”

”Grandma is very kind, and her smile is especially beautiful!” Gigi said, ”I like seeing Grandma smile!”

”Grandma is very pretty,” Dolly added, ”I’ve seen the other kids’ grandmas in class, and none are as good-looking as ours! Our Grandma is in great shape and looks good in anything!”

When it comes to looking good, Mia Lane also had a part to play, or rather, a significant role.

Kristina Kingston never thought that in her lifetime she would be able to take off the mask and show herself to others, to communicate as calmly and casually as now, or have a chance to step out of Clearwater Bay.

Suddenly, she recalled the good of Mia Lane.

In the children’s world, she also found a sense of belonging.

”Grandma is very knowledgeable!”

”Grandma is very loving!”

”Grandma loves us very much!”

”My Grandma is the best Grandma in the world!”

”Grandma, I love you!”

”Grandma loves you too...” Kristina Kingston smiled, though tears glistened in her eyes.

The gift they gave her was two hand-written letters; some words were even replaced with pinyin.

The handwriting was very neat, enough to see how much care they put into it.

The letters expressed the children’s true feelings, mentioning the difficulties Mia Lane faced bringing them up, as well as their longing for family.

They also expressed how much they liked Grandma.

While the children were taking their afternoon nap, Kristina Kingston picked up these two love-filled letters, stood by the bedroom window, reading them over and over, unable to put them down.

The young yet neat handwriting, every word and sentence, made her eyes fill with tears.

She couldn’t remember how many years it had been since anyone had expressed themselves to her like this.

Sitting in front of the dressing table, Kristina Kingston placed the folded letters into the drawer, her gaze falling on the photo album, instinctively reaching to take it out.

It was Monica Usher who took these photos for her; it was the first set of portraits taken after her burn healing. She still remembered how busy Monica Usher was that day.

It was the first time in a decade or two that Kristina Kingston bravely faced the camera, the first time she revealed a confident and calm smile.

All around was especially silent.

She looked through the photos one by one, seriously reflecting for the first time.

If she hadn’t insisted on matching Justin Kingston with Monica Usher back then, would today have been a different situation?
