Twin Treasures: The CEO Wife's 99-Day of Revelations

Chapter 472: Chapter 472: What Are You Upset About?

Mia Lane immediately realized something was wrong and quickly explained, ”I didn’t mean it that way.” She smiled, ”You’re used to being alone, and suddenly having two kids around must be a bit of an adjustment.”

Kristina Kingston took a deep breath, unwilling to argue with her.

”Gigi, Dolly, do you plan to continue staying at Grandma’s place? Or do you want to go home with Mommy and Daddy first?” Mia Lane crouched down, holding the children’s shoulders, and asked with a smile.

There wasn’t a hint of threat in her tone; the decision was entirely left to the children.

They definitely missed Mommy, after all, they hadn’t seen her for so long.

And Mommy had raised them by herself, so there was a deep bond.

Gigi pursed her lips and turned to look at the cool-faced middle-aged woman, ”Grandma, we’ll come to see you again in a while.”

”Goodbye, Grandma!” Dolly waved her hand at Kristina Kingston, clearly expressing her decision.

Kristina Kingston didn’t try to keep them. Seeing the children’s obedient and adorable demeanor, she felt a bit uneasy when she thought about the purpose of their visit to Clearwater Bay.

Was it to mend the mother-in-law and daughter-in-law relationship?

With that, Justin Kingston and Mia Lane took the children away.

Watching the taxi drive away, Kristina Kingston felt a bit dazed, enveloped by a sense of defeat.

When she returned to the living room, the butler brought down the children’s suitcase, not realizing they had already left.

”Just leave it there,” Kristina Kingston said with a slight tone, ”They’ll come back again.”

”Yes.”

For some reason, Kristina Kingston found herself missing the children once they were gone.

She couldn’t eat well or sit comfortably, always getting distracted no matter what she did.

On the way back to Emerald Cove, since Mary was in the car, Mia Lane didn’t criticize or blame the children.

Children have their own dignity and pride; even though they’re young, they’re still independent individuals.

When it comes to educating the children, Mia Lane is always particularly careful.

Once they got home, she called the children into the study.

”Close the door.”

She sat down at the desk and looked at the children with a somewhat stern expression.

Dolly dutifully stood in front of the desk, and Gigi went to close the door, then stood beside her sister.

They bravely met their mother’s gaze, showing a knowing look of remorse.

”In the future, any decision you make should be reported to Mommy and Daddy, understood?” She was angry, ”If you can’t, write it down ten thousand times, now go.”

Gigi and Dolly didn’t answer; they pursed their lips and stared at her. As they kept staring, their little mouths turned downward, and their eyes welled up with tears.

”Speak up.” Mia Lane remained stern, ”You’ve done something wrong, what are you feeling wronged about?”

”Mommy, why doesn’t Grandma like you?” Gigi’s lips were pouted, feeling indignant for her.

Mia Lane felt a pang in her heart and, for a moment, didn’t know how to answer that question.

Just then, Dolly spoke softly and complained, ”Grandma is so bad, she doesn’t like Mommy!” Tears trickled down.

Mia Lane was deeply moved.

She quickly said, ”You shouldn’t say that. In this world, no matter how great someone is, there will always be people who don’t like them. If she doesn’t like Mommy, it’s because Mommy hasn’t met her expectations. It doesn’t mean she’s bad.”

Mia Lane didn’t want to plant a seed of hatred in the children’s hearts; she wanted to resolve everything.

When she realized this problem, she felt anxious and uneasy inside.

Too much had happened during this period, so much so that she neglected the children’s physical and mental health and didn’t have time to ask what they were truly thinking.

Dolly was crying, feeling very sad, her little shoulders shaking as she sobbed.

Gigi, being a little man, held it in, but his eyes were still brimming with tears.
