Twin Treasures: The CEO Wife's 99-Day of Revelations

Chapter 23: Chapter 23: Who Is She, Really?

”But there’s no divorce timeline, right?” the butler said, ”In my heart, you’re already Mrs. Kingston, you’re his cure, you can heal his stomach issues.”

Facing the butler’s hopeful gaze, Mia Lane couldn’t help but smile slightly, ”Thank you for telling me this. Matters of the heart should go with the flow; the most important thing is that the children grow up healthy.”

”If there’s nothing else, I’ll go back to work.”

She nodded, and the butler turned to leave.

After a short while, her phone rang. Mia took it out and saw it was Hailey Hale calling.

She answered, ”What’s up?”

”Mia Lane, would you like to have a cup of coffee with me and chat when you have time?” The girl’s voice sounded like silver bells, she always seemed so happy, though it was unclear why.

”No time.”

”Don’t be like that!” She changed her tone and said very officially, ”Your husband just contacted me! Do you know why he reached out to me? It’s about you. If you want to know, come to the address I sent via WeChat! Waiting for you! Bye-bye!”

Mia was momentarily taken aback, but after thinking about it, her curiosity dimmed.

What would happen if she went?

She’s already asked, and what could she learn from Hailey anyway?

She didn’t feel like going out today; she had a challenge this afternoon to meet that odd-tempered mother-in-law who escaped death!

So, she changed her clothes and waited for Justin Kingston to come home from work.

Thinking about Justin Kingston’s age, Mia felt somewhat uneasy, twelve years older!

With her beauty and intelligence, she should be marrying a younger guy! How did she end up with an older man? Can’t imagine!

Half an hour later, the phone rang again; it was Hailey Hale calling once more.

Mia chuckled and took the call, ”Speak.”

”Did you get stuck in traffic?” the other side asked puzzledly, ”Where are you?”

”How can I be stuck in traffic at home?” Mia said, lounging in the chair by the window in Justin Kingston’s study, bathing in the sunlight, ”Go on, what did he ask you?”

”Aren’t you afraid I’ll reveal your identity?”

”Did I ever admit my identity?” Mia’s tone was light, ”Hailey, if you dare to expose me again, I’ll go back to the way I treated you six months ago! Don’t think about being friends anymore.”

”No, no!!!” The girl on the other end quickly replied, ”I know you don’t want to be too involved in the political and business circles, but you’re married to Justin Kingston!”

”That’s why I need to stay further away from you.” Mia replied calmly.

”Alright, alright, I understand. Justin Kingston might be investigating your background.” The other person seriously reminded, ”I didn’t say you are Emma.”

”I never admitted I am Emma.” Mia’s lips curled up slightly, ”Let him investigate, I’m not breaking the law, nothing to find. Hailey, thank you.”

”Aren’t you going to confess to me?” Hailey just wanted a definite answer.

”There’s nothing to confess, remember, if you want to keep being friends, don’t expose me.”

”Understood!”

After the call ended, a thoughtful look crossed Mia’s pure eyes; Justin investigating her was just a matter of time.

How could he leave someone whose background is unknown by his side?

And share a bed?

The Kingston Group, in the CEO’s office.

Justin Kingston sat in a custom office chair, a faint gloom seeped into his deep eyes.

Finn Morgan stood beside him with a heavy expression.

Just now, they detected that Mia was on a call, but couldn’t find out who the other party was or what the content was.

”Boss,” Finn Morgan dared to advise, ”keeping such a person by your side... could it be a wrong decision?”

Justin didn’t answer.

Finn continued, ”It’s obvious that her phone is protected by high-tech precision, not an ordinary person’s.”

The Kingston Group’s formidable means are well known in Riventhal, and until now, there hasn’t been anyone Justin Kingston can’t investigate!

But with Mia, Justin felt quite stumped.

”Boss, sorry, I just worry about you and the company...” Finn spoke sincerely.

Justin’s thin lips parted slightly, ”I know. Go ahead with your tasks.”

”Yes.” Finn believed that the boss had his own discretion and would prioritize the company’s interests.

Throughout the afternoon, Justin’s eyes, usually filled with coldness, showed a hint of hesitation. Was it a mistake to marry Mia by agreement?

Who exactly is she?
