Twin Treasures: The CEO Wife's 99-Day of Revelations

Chapter 22: Chapter 22: Asking the Butler About Kingston Family Secrets

Monica Usher understood, that woman turned around and immediately called Justin Kingston to complain.

So, the position of Mia Lane in Justin Kingston’s heart became clear to Monica Usher at this moment.

Even if she didn’t want to believe it, she had to believe it.

Looking at the beautiful big villa in the yard, thinking about the way that woman was holding ginger tea and swinging earlier, she envied it so much...

Monica Usher didn’t forcefully break into Emerald Cove over an earring, because she knew it would only embarrass herself.

In the living room of the villa.

Mia Lane was playing Go with Gigi and Dolly.

”Mommy, when can we see Bebe?”

”Mommy, are we going back to Sunshine Village?”

”Of course we are going back,” Mia Lane smiled lightly, ”but this afternoon we have to go somewhere with Daddy, we’ll go back once we’re done.”

”By the way, Daddy said he arranged the best kindergarten in Riventhal for us!” Dolly asked expectantly, ”Are the best Penny teachers there?”

”There aren’t any Penny teachers there, but the teachers there will love you just like Penny does. As long as you behave, you’ll be their favorite darlings.”

”We’ll definitely be good!”

After chatting with the children for a while and playing three rounds of Go, Aunt Zhou took the children upstairs to play in the playground.

Mia Lane saw the butler’s face showing a gratified smile, and she smiled too.

The butler said, ”Madam, it has never been this lively here before.”

”I hope the children’s arrival hasn’t disturbed this tranquility.”

”Certainly not.” The butler said kindly, ”We all very much like Master Gigi and Miss Dolly.”

”Butler Shelby, have a seat.” Mia Lane made space for him.

The butler was a bit surprised, but she had a gentle presence, ”Sit down, I’d like to ask you something,” and then poured him a cup of tea. ”I’ve called Justin Kingston, he said he’s taking me to meet his mother this afternoon, and asked me to learn about her situation from you first.”

The butler understood Mr. Kingston’s nature; he was never casual about emotions.

No matter the reason Mr. Kingston and Miss Lane became married, it didn’t affect their journey together for life.

So the butler did not hide anything, he said honestly, ”21 years ago... when Mr. Kingston was 17, there was a big fire at the old Kingston mansion, his mother...”

”Wait.” Mia Lane was particularly sharp, ”21 years ago, Justin Kingston was 17? How old is he now?”

”38.”

”...” Oh my God!! Mia Lane was directly stunned, ”He’s a cycle older than me?”

The butler was puzzled, didn’t she know?

”It’s okay.” She quickly digested it, ”You continue, I won’t interrupt anymore, sorry.”

”That year, the Kingston house had a fire, the blaze was particularly fierce, Mr. Kingston’s mother was trapped in the sea of flames, no one dared rush in, Mr. Kingston risked his life to save her, and only came out after half an hour.”

Mia Lane listened with her heart hanging in suspense, that was quite a miraculous fate.

”Mrs. Kingston, although she survived, had severe burns, and only in recent years have her vocal cords returned to normal. Most of her body’s skin is wrapped in white gauze, no one knows her true appearance, so she wears long clothes and sleeves all year long. The body trauma, coupled with psychological trauma, has made her temper very strange.”

Mia Lane asked thoughtfully, ”The fire... was it an accident?”

”...” Can this be said?

This was a forbidden topic in the Kingston family, the butler was a bit uncertain, because he wasn’t sure if Mr. Kingston wanted it kept secret.

Mia Lane caught the answer from his eyes and saw his predicament, ”Butler Shelby, how’s Justin’s relationship with his mother?” She smartly changed the topic.

”As long as it doesn’t involve marriage discussions, it’s fine.” The butler answered truthfully, ”Once marriage is discussed, it falls apart, Mr. Kingston is very concerned about his mother, after all... there aren’t many family members left.”

”Is he afraid of marriage? What about his father?” She looked it up online, and the information was wiped clean.

”He shouldn’t fear marriage, after all, he is already married, isn’t he?” The butler said, ”His father has passed away. Madam, Mr. Kingston places great importance on family, so he genuinely loves Master Gigi and Miss Dolly, although...”

”You say, it’s okay.”

”Although you and he don’t have much emotional foundation, I believe you can become a very good family.” Butler Shelby sincerely said, ”Mr. Kingston has never been in a relationship, never brought a girl home, he might focus more on his career, not understanding emotional skills, but he is definitely a man worth entrusting for life.”

”I am just in a contractual marriage with him,” Mia Lane said with a smile, ”For the sake of the children.”
