My Perfect Isekai: Pragmatic Protagonist, Progression Fantasy and Strategy

The massive, iron-carved gate on the seventy-sixth floor still stood in the exact same spot, its cold surface pulsing with a dense, alien network of violet mana weaves. After our grueling, month-long spartan tempering in the deep wilderness near Oakhaven, Shnee and I returned to the Forgotten Necropolises to take what was rightfully ours and bring this dungeon’s artificial barrier to its knees.

”Her weaves are ridiculously dense, boss. This isn’t the usual, sloppy magic generated by this dungeon,” Kaede reported from her tactical perch inside my left ear, her chitinous legs lightly vibrating as her powered armor scanned the environmental frequencies. ”It’s an active, high-density firewall.”

”I know, kid,” I replied with a relaxed, brazen chill, stepping up to the monumental structure without drawing Orcrist.

I knew perfectly well from our previous encounter that trying to smash this iron with raw, blunt kinetic force was an amateur’s mistake. The alien metal was designed to absorb and redirect heavy impact, feeding on blunt pressure to reinforce its own structural stability. Instead of firing up an explosive, high-voltage aura, I extended both hands and laid my bare palms flat against the freezing, dark metal.

I opened the pores on my forearms, releasing a steady, controlled stream of Sapphire Slime. The luminous, blue mercury flowed from my fingers, aggressively creeping into the microscopic crevices and runic grooves of the gate.

I closed my eyes, assuming my default analytical state. I didn’t need to read their ancient, forgotten language or decode mystical formulas. On pure common-sense logic, mana was simply water flowing through a riverbed. To break a lock, you didn’t smash the heavy door—you simply infected its internal mechanisms with a liquid that dissolved the pins.

My slime penetrated deeper into the iron, smoothly bypassing the main defensive currents of the gate. I introduced ultra-high-frequency micro-vibrations directly into the blue mercury, matching the exact frequency of the violet firewall. With acid-like precision, the Sapphire Slime began rewriting the gate’s internal parameters from the inside out, burning away the alien nodes one by one.

ZGRZYT!

The violet runic weaves flashed one last, desperate shade of crimson before extinguishing completely. With a heavy, metallic groan that shook the floorboards of the corridor, the monumental iron gate slowly unsealed, sliding open to reveal the dark, uncharted passage leading down to the seventy-seventh floor.

”Firewall neutralized,” I declared coldly, wiping a thin film of blue mercury back into my pores and slipping my hands deep into the pockets of my black coat. ”Time to clear the rest of this biome, darling.”

Shnee smiled with a quiet, predatory pride, her Celestial Silver rapier gleaming in the dim light as she stepped into formation right beside my left shoulder.

The moment our combat boots touched the dark, polished basalt of the seventy-seventh floor, the environmental rules shifted violently.

My step became unnaturally heavy. The heavy leather soles of my boots stuck to the ground with a dull, magnetic resistance, as if we had suddenly stepped into a pool of thick, invisible tar. Out of the corner of my eye, I saw Shnee’s left shoulder dip sharply. The slender, transparent rapier in her hand suddenly gained several hundred pounds of artificial weight, forcing the elf to firmly brace her stance against the rock to keep the blade from hitting the stone.

”Anomalous magnetic field,” I noted, my sapphire eyes scanning the monumental cavern ahead. Gigantic, geometry-carved basalt blocks levitated in mid-air, rotating lazily in chaotic orbits, defying standard gravity and charging the air with intense, ionized friction. ”The dungeon is attempting to disrupt our motorics and pull our weapons straight out of our hands.”

”Switch places, Shnee,” I ordered calmly, stepping to the front. ”I’ll handle the environmental friction.”

I braced my boots against the magnetic stone, opening my internal valves. Instead of wrestling with the boss’s magnetic field, I used pure, unyielding physics to cut it off. I activated a precise ten percent limit of my aura over my hands, coating them in a thin layer of Sapphire Slime, and released an outward wave of spatial pressure, creating a clean, spherical kinetic bubble around our squad.

The two opposing forces collided in mid-air with a sharp, static crackle, but the magnetic pull completely collapsed against the unyielding density of my spatial pressure. Within our five-meter sphere, gravity returned to absolute normal.

”Path cleared,” I murmured, strolling forward.

On the seventy-eighth floor, an aerodynamic storm hit us. From thick, violet clouds of acidic mist hanging near the ceiling, a swarm of Ice Gargoyles descended with a deafening, mechanical screech. Their chitinous wings beat the air with the speed of industrial turbines, launching deadly bursts of frozen, acidic hail.

Shnee didn’t wait for my command. Guided by her newly refined biomechanics, she glided forward like a silver phantom. She didn’t waste mana on heavy shields; she slipped beneath the first gargoyle’s dive, her Celestial Silver rapier executing a minimalist, razor-sharp thrust into its wing joint.

”EMP net deployed, boss!” Kaede cheered from my ear.

In the same millisecond, a razor-thin, sapphire-woven net shot out from beneath my coat collar. Kaede’s spider web, directly powered by the blue thread of our pakt, fell onto the airborne gargoyles. The moment the threads made contact with their frozen chitin, an ultra-high-voltage szafirowy impulse surged through their bodies. The EMP net instantly paralyzed their energy conduits, causing their internal cores to short-circuit. The gargoyles froze in mid-air, falling to the basalt floor like heavy stones, where Shnee cleanly shattered their cores into violet dust.

We crossed the seventy-ninth floor—a narrow, cracked basalt bridge suspended over a roaring, boiling ocean of liquid magma—without stopping for a single second.

When a monumental, twenty-meter Basalt Leviathan erupted from the glowing chasm, attempting to bite off the entire section of the bridge we stood on, I played the dungeon at its own game.

”Shnee, freeze the edge!” I commanded sharply.

The white-haired elf instantly released a concentrated wave of Hyu Su, covering the lip of the stone bridge in a thick layer of frictionless, black ice. The Leviathan’s massive, armored body slammed onto the edge to gain traction, but its multi-ton weight immediately lost all grip on the frictionless surface. The giant worm slid backward with a hollow, panicked roar, exposing its soft, unarmored underbelly.

I stepped into the gap, coating my right arm in the pitch-black, light-absorbing armor of Gōtai, reinforced by a vibrating Kinetic Glove. I delivered a single, point-blank kinetic uppercut directly into its exposed sternum.

BOOM!

The multi-ton kinetic impact drove directly through its underbelly like a hydraulic press. The Leviathan’s internal structure shattered instantly, and the colossal beast flew backward in a wide arc, crashing into the far wall of the chasm and dissolving into a falling shower of harmless gray ash. I telekinetically snatched its massive, glowing core out of mid-air, sliding it into my bottomless pouch.

The heavy, bronze-bound gates of the eightieth floor parted with a deafening, seismic rumble, admitting us into a monumental, oval cathedral carved from dark, polished basalt. The ceiling was lost in swirling, violet storm clouds that incessantly discharged violent bolts of plasma.

Hovering a dozen meters above the central altar was the zone boss—the Exegol Shaman.

The monster was a three-meter, emaciated silhouette encased in ancient, runic black iron armor. It had no face—only a hollow, smoking void from which six pairs of glowing, violet eyes burned. Above its head, a gigantic magnetic vortex swirled, continuously drawing massive plasma bolts directly from the clouds, supercharging its runic armor and powering an impenetrable, multi-layered plasma shield.

”Boss, he’s got an infinite power supply!” Kaede warned nervously, her small legs tensing against my earlobe. ”That plasma shield is absorbing every ambient frequency!”

”Because you’re fighting him on his terms, kid,” I replied with a cold, brazen smile, not taking my hands out of my coat pockets. ”The Shaman isn’t strong on his own. He’s just a receiver. His entire defense relies on that continuous feed from the sky. It’s a simple electrical circuit. And what do we do when a machine has too much voltage?”

”We cut the power,” Shnee whispered, a predatory smile blooming on her face.

”Precisely. We disconnect the charger.”

The Exegol Shaman let out a low, guttural roar, launching two massive, shrieking spheres of violet plasma directly at our chests.

”Shnee, flank left! Kaede, monitor the trajectories!” I ordered calmly.

I withdrew my right hand from my pocket. My internal reactor purred with a steady, quiet power as I pumped a concentrated charge of sapphire energy to my fingertips. Instead of forming Orcrist, I extruded dense Sapphire Slime from my pores, using hard kinetic compression to flatten the fluid into three long, perfectly straight rods of ultra-dense sapphire diamond with zero electrical resistance.

Using a powerful, telekinetic launch, I drove the first multi-meter rod deep into the basalt floor just two meters behind the hovering boss. The second and third rods were fired straight into the ceiling vault, anchoring themselves right inside the swirling storm clouds. With a single flick of my will, I connected all three rods with a thick, zero-resistance thread of sapphire slime.

I built a giant Sapphire Lightning Rod.

In that exact microsecond, the next massive discharge of violet plasma struck down from the clouds. But instead of supercharging the Shaman’s shields, the titanic bolt was violently sucked into my diamond spire, bypassing the boss entirely and grounding itself harmlessly into the basalt floor of the cathedral!

The magnetic vortex above the Shaman’s head instantly collapsed. His plasma shields flickered, sputtered, and vanished into thin air, while the runic plates on his armor hissed and went dark as his power supply was cut to zero. The Exegol Shaman froze mid-air, his six pairs of eyes flickering with a sudden, genuine system lag.

”Now, Shnee!” I smirked.

The white-haired elf blurred into motion like a frosty lightning bolt. Through the friction-free vacuum corridor I laid before her path, her speed reached an unmatchable, assassin’s peak. Her Celestial Silver rapier whistled through the dead air in a single, flawless horizontal arc.

TRZASK!

The diamond-dense blade severed the Shaman’s neck like rotten cardboard. Extreme Hyu Su frost erupted from the steel upon contact, penetrating his internal conduits and shattering his black armor from the inside out. The boss exploded in a showers of black soot, leaving a massive, glowing violet essence core that clattered onto the stone floor.

I recalled the sapphire rods, dissolving the blue mercury back into my pores. My Vessel remained completely stable, its widened pathways handling the throughput without a single tremor.

”Sterile, mathematical execution,” I evaluated, telekinetically pulling the heavy core into my pouch.

An hour later, I pushed open the heavy oak doors of Silas’s private office in Oakhaven’s Lower City. The room smelled of sour ink and stale tobacco, and the old fence was lazily reviewing his ledgers.

Without playing at pleasantries, I stepped up to his desk, reached into my coat, and with a heavy, deafening thud, dumped the giant, pulsing core of the Exegol Shaman straight onto his papers.

The impact nearly knocked the old merchant out of his chair, spilling his inkwell and causing his pipe to fly from his teeth. Silas stared at the glowing, high-tier crystal in absolute, paralyzed shock, his eyes widening to the size of silver coins. His merchant calculator caught a massive, total system error.

”H-holy fuck... an 80th-floor boss core?!” Silas finally stammered, his voice breaking pitifully as cold sweat poured down his forehead. ”Dave... you sick, unhinged psychopath... you cleared the entire eighth ten in a matter of weeks?!”

”Cleanly swept, Silas,” I replied with brazen coolness, leaning against the desk frame. ”Now listen carefully. I want you to hire the best craftsmen in the Lower City and construct a deep, granite vault beneath this office. Encase it in three-inch stone plates and seal it with custom runic masking arrays of my design. We are going to store our high-tier cores and metal reserves here, releasing them onto the market in strict, calculated batches. No market panic, no Inquisition interference.”

Silas nodded frantically, grabbing the desk with trembling hands. ”I’ll do it! I’ll start the construction tonight!”

”Good,” I summarized softly, turning on my heel as Shnee and Kaede stepped into formation beside me. ”Now we return to the Golden Griffin. My Vessel requires a massive load of carbohydrates, and our family has earned a proper rest. The eighth ten is officially history.”
