My Perfect Isekai: Pragmatic Protagonist, Progression Fantasy and Strategy

Thirty days spent in complete, undisturbed isolation within the four walls of my bedroom on the upper floor of the Golden Griffin had been a pure, physiological katorga that tested the absolute boundaries of my titanium vise of will. Forcing the raw, high-density sapphire energy into my conduits and cementing my energy pathways to a stable, safe limit of thirty percent throughput was like pumping liquid, white-hot lead under immense mechanical pressure into narrow copper pipes. Every single second of that process demanded an unyielding, ruthless concentration to keep the sapphire reactor in my chest under control and prevent an unguided kinetic explosion from turning our entire tavern into a heap of useless rubble and ash.

My body had been pushed to its biological limit. Blood had spurted from my nose and cracked lips on the first dozen nights, dripping onto the dry oak floorboards, but the passive, delayed tissue regeneration from my soul kept rebuilding the damaged riverbeds faster than the pressure could tear them apart. Elena had quietly left plates of high-protein roast meat and clay jugs of cold spring water by the door, while Shnee maintained a silent, vigilant guard in the corridor, her hand never leaving the hilt of her rapier.

When I finally pushed open the heavy oak door on the thirty-first morning and stepped out into the hallway, my entire body vibrated with a brand new, incredible density. My energy conduits were now wide, elastic, and completely resistant to tearing. I could effortlessly pump monstrous charges of kinetic force through my limbs without incurring a single drop of internal damage or spilling a drop of blood.

”Ready, darling?” I threw with my constant, brazen coolness to Shnee, who immediately straightened up at the sight of me, her diamond eyes flashing with uncontained pride and profound relief.

”Always, Dave,” she replied softly, her hand resting comfortably on the pommel of her Heavenly Silver rapier.

Without wasting a single minute on idle, useless chatter, we returned directly to the depths of the Forgotten Necropolises. employing our Prism, we landed straight onto the seventy-fifth floor to test my freshly calibrated power under live combat conditions.

The descent through the seventies had transformed the environment into a brutal, volcanic nightmare. The sterile obsidian mirrors and dark corridors of the previous ten floors had vanished entirely. Instead, we stepped out into the Canyons of Ash—a monumental, crumbling rift in the earth where the air was thick with toxic sulfur, choked with gray dust, and illuminated by the sickly yellow glow of magma seeping through deep crevices in the rock.

The seventy-fifth floor welcomed us with a roaring sea of flames and thick, glowing slag. In the very center of the basalt arena, the boss of this level awaited us—the Lord of Embers. It was a monumental, five-meter centaur carved from solid, half-melted volcanic rock, whose hooves melted the stone floorboards while its deafening roar shook the entire cavern ceiling, showering quartz shards down upon us like a deadly hail.

”Let’s see if this volcanic scrap can handle basic physics,” I murmured with a relaxed, predatory smile, keeping my hands pushed deep into the pockets of my black coat.

The Lord of Embers charged, bringing its colossal obsidian hammer down in a brutal, vertical arc designed to flatten our Vessels into pulp. A wave of entropic plasma erupted from the strike, sweeping across the arena and burning the air to ozone.

I didn’t dodge. I didn’t step back to soften the impact.

I took a single, firm step forward into its dead zone. I opened the valves in my conduits, releasing a wide, thirty-percent wave of pure Gōtai armoring into my right arm, and met the multi-ton obsidian hammer with a direct, rising upper-cut of my bare, diamond-dense fist.

BOOM!

The collision generated a deafening, thunderous shockwave that cleared the air of smoke and ash within a twenty-meter radius. The basalt floor beneath my boots cracked into deep, jagged craters, but my forearms did not bend and my shoulders did not buckle. The Lord of Embers did not simply stop—its entire volcanic structure shuddered violently as the concentrated kinetic energy, weighted down by the sapphire current of my soul, penetrated deep through its rock armor like a seismic shockwave and exploded inside its internal reactor.

The five-meter centaurImploded from the inside out into thousands of glowing, shattered fragments that hissed loudly as they hit the wet basalt floor. A monumental, deep-violet essence core floated in the air, which I smoothly grabbed with a flick of point-blank telekinesis and dropped into the bottomless pouch at my belt.

”Sterile, mathematical execution...” Shnee whispered in awe, her face expressing a reverent admiration for my physical dominance. ”You didn’t even need the vacuum. That was pure, raw kinetic force.”

”That was merely a warmup walk, darling,” I answered with a broad smirk, adjusting the collar of my black coat as we headed toward the dark stone stairs leading down to the seventy-sixth floor. ”The widened conduits perform flawlessly. The flow is smooth, the internal friction is zero, and my energy regeneration keeps up with the throughput without a stutter.”

However, our relentless, victorious marathon was brutally interrupted the moment our boots touched the floorboards of the seventy-sixth level.

The corridor leading deeper into the underground simply ceased to exist, completely blocked by a solid, monumental gate carved from dense black iron. The surface of the gate pulsed with a dull, sickly violet light, intersected by a dense, intricate network of alien mana weaves. The pattern immediately triggered a match in my Battle IQ—it was the exact same alien signature I had analyzed on the melted armor plate two floors higher.

I approached the gate and placed my flat palm against the cold iron. I attempted to send a short, concentrated pulse of kinetic pressure to shatter the heavy hinges, but the gate instantly flashed with an aggressive, violet glow, effortlessly absorbing my force and dispersing the lines of impact in a fraction of a millisecond.

”Dave... what is this?” Shnee asked, her diamond eyes narrowing as her hand instinctively tightened around her rapier. ”This structure... it doesn’t look like the natural design of this dungeon. Someone intentionally modified the system gate to halt our progress.”

”The dungeon pulled the handbrake, darling,” I stated coldly, analyzing the molecular structure of the anomaly with my spatial sense. ”Someone from the outside has placed a hard, system quarantine on these doors to block our expansion and prevent us from reaching the heart of the Necropolises. This gate eats every form of raw magic and direct blunt force. Trying to force it without proper preparation is merely a waste of calories.”

”Szefie, czyli co? Stoimy w korku?” Kaede’s squeaky voice echoed directly in my left ear as she poked her small, chitinous head out from beneath my coat collar. ”Moje radary były nastawione na darmowy loot, a tu taka lipa! Przecież dopiero co dostaliśmy nową moc! Chciałam zobaczyć, jak mój pancerz roznosi te potworki na strzępy!”

”We are halted for now, kid. But on common-sense logic, this is not a waste of time. It is simply a mandatory, sterile training ground,” I replied with a predatory smile, stepping back from the iron gate. ”We are setting up camp right here in the Breath Room of the seventy-sixth floor. We will spend the coming weeks here. I will handle the tedious task of hacking this alien code using my Sapphire Slime, and you, Shnee, will undergo the most brutal, biomechanical training this world has ever seen under my direct supervision. Your Vessel must be fully tempered to handle the monstrous pressure of the deeper floors. I do not want to see your mana evaporating upon contact with the enemy again. You must learn to fight under shifting gravity and variable energy density.”

Over the next thirty days, our small sanctuary in the Breath Room of the seventy-sixth floor transformed into a true training hell.

Every single day, I sparred with Shnee at full speed, giving her zero room to breathe or rest on her laurels. I released blue mercury from my pores, forming the heavy, diamond-dense blade of Orcrist, and sliced through her ice shields and dodges with full, relentless tonnage. I forced her to balance on narrow, elevated basalt pillars while dodging heavy kinetic waves sent from my palm. Shnee had to learn on the fly how to control her center of gravity under the crushing pressure of my kinetic aura. Her Heavenly Silver rapier sang through the air, becoming faster, sharper, and more precise with each passing day. I taught her how to optimize every single step, how to avoid fighting air resistance, and how to transfer energy directly from her hips through her conduits straight to the tip of her blade.

Simultaneously, Kaede was not slacking off on my shoulder. The small, white spider experimented with her own pakt connection, weaving micro-thin threads of Sapphire Slime. By the fifteenth day of our isolation, she had invented a brand new tactical maneuver.

”Nazwałam to Szafirową Siecią EMP!” Kaede announced proudly, stomping her small armored legs on my coat. ”Działa jak biologiczny reset systemowy! Jeden dotyk i przeciwnik zapomina, jak używać many! Blokuje przepływy bezpośrednio na poziomie rdzenia i uniemożliwia jakąkolwiek regenerację splotów!”

”This net is pure gold, kid,” I praised her genuinely, gently stroking her small armored abdomen with my finger. ”Against bosses, this will buy us crucial seconds in which we can simply turn them into pulp without any resistance from their system shields. Excellent work. I am proud of you. Your evolution and adaptation are moving in a very profitable direction.”

While the girls perfected their synergy, my analytical mind worked at peak efficiency, deconstructing the complex, anomalous violet code of the iron gate. I stood before the quarantine barrier every night, analyzing the frequency of its mana weaves. The alien firewall was designed to repel raw force, but it had a vulnerability—it operated on a fixed, repeating loop of energy redistribution.

On the thirtieth day of training, I finally walked up to the black iron gate.

I extended my right hand and allowed a thick, blue stream of Sapphire Slime to flow from my fingertips directly onto the pulsing, violet weaves of the door. Instead of destroying them with blunt force, I introduced high-frequency micro-vibrations, slowly and with acidic precision infecting and burning the firewall structure from the inside. The slime penetrated the smallest cracks in the code, rewriting its parameters according to my own dictation.

The anomalous runes flashed one last time with a desperate red light, and then, with a loud, metallic grind, they cracked. The entire violet power supply of the gate went dark forever. The heavy doors slowly slid apart to the sides, opening the passage to the seventy-seventh floor.

”The quarantine has been officially disposed of,” I said, slipping my hands back into the pockets of my coat and casting a predatory glance into the dark corridor ahead. ”Time to finish this slaughter and show this dungeon who really rules down here. Prepare yourselves, girls. The real fight is just beginning, and the eightieth floor is waiting for us.”

Shnee smiled with her quiet, predatory smile of pride, stepping right behind my left shoulder, while Kaede curled up comfortably inside my ear, ready to ping targets on our radar. Our synchronized crew stepped into the gloom, fully prepared for the final conquest of the seventh ten.
