Naruto: Becoming the Soul King

Ninjutsu also has a proficiency level. The same jutsu can display vastly different power depending on who uses it.

Seiryū felt that seven clones weren’t his limit. He could still push that number higher.

For the next few hours, Seiryū worked on improving his proficiency with the Shadow Clone Jutsu, and the results were impressive. He could now summon twelve clones.

Feeling the small amount of chakra left in his body, Seiryū stroked his chin and muttered, ”Dividing my chakra into thirteen parts, there’s not even enough left to cast a C-rank jutsu...”

Shadow Clone have physical bodies and are created by dividing the user’s chakra evenly. Seiryū felt a sense of weakness.

It wasn’t until he dispelled the Shadow Clone and the memories and chakra returned to his main body that the feeling disappeared.

No wonder the Multiple Shadow Clone Jutsu is listed as a forbidden jutsu. It makes sense...

However, after several hours of training, the memories, sensations, and fatigue fed back to the main body by the clones caused Seiryū to feel a slight discomfort in his brain.

It was similar to the sensation of staying up all night playing games in his past life.

Perhaps because he had been reborn twice and had strong mental resilience, that discomfort only lasted a few seconds before vanishing.

If the experiences of hundreds or even thousands of clones fed back into the main body, it truly wouldn’t be something an ordinary person could handle.

But Seiryū felt he could. After all, he wasn’t an ordinary person—he was cheating.

Jiraiya said to him, ”Alright, take a break. Hard work is a good trait, but you need to balance effort and rest.”

He gets so focused on training that he forgets everything else. Isn’t that a little too diligent?

Not only was his talent exceptional, but he was also so hardworking. How were other kids his age supposed to keep up?

Seiryū didn’t plan to continue either. ”Yeah, I was planning to rest too. It’s about dinner time. I should head back.”

Minato suggested, ”Sensei, Seiryū, let’s go to my house for dinner. We can also call Kushina over and tell her about the progress on the new jutsu. We really shouldn’t keep her in the dark…”

”Hahaha, then I won’t be polite!” Jiraiya didn’t refuse. He often freeloaded meals at Minato’s house. He looked over at Seiryū. ”Seiryū, you come too. The three of us—master and disciples—have only eaten together once, the day you became my disciple.”

Seiryū thought for a moment and said, ”Alright, but I need to go home and let my family know.”

Jiraiya smiled. ”Okay, then we’ll head to Minato’s house first.”

Minato asked, ”You haven’t forgotten where my house is, have you?”

”Of course not.” Seiryū’s mouth twitched. He wasn’t a three-year-old.

Then, remembering something, he looked at the two and said, ”Sensei, Senpai, during this holiday, can I bring Kurenai here to train too? She’s very attached to me as her older brother, and I’ve also been supervising her training.”

Because of his talent, Jiraiya and Minato had included him in the development and refinement of the new jutsu. It was like a mission for the three of them or perhaps special training... Seiryū could also consult Jiraiya and Minato on any parts of his training he didn’t understand.

To Seiryū, this was equivalent to hiring two top-tier private tutors without paying a single coin.

With such a great opportunity, he naturally couldn’t neglect his cute little sister.

First of all, it wasn’t because he had a sister complex. It was mainly for Kurenai’s training.

There was no other way. Kurenai’s training was being supervised entirely by Seiryū. He was her private tutor—and unpaid at that...

Jiraiya didn’t even think twice. It wasn’t a big deal. He smiled. ”Hahaha, of course. You siblings are really close, huh?”

Minato also nodded. ”Of course you can. Bring Kurenai along to eat with us too. Kushina likes her a lot.”

”Alright, Sensei, Senpai, I’ll head back first.” Seiryū bowed slightly, then turned to leave.

He quickly returned home.

Pushing open the door, Seiryū saw Kurenai sitting on the sofa, eating a popsicle, her legs swinging as she watched an old-style television. She looked exactly like an elementary school student enjoying her vacation.

Yes, Konoha had televisions, refrigerators, and ovens. The technology level was fairly modern.

It was honestly a bit strange... the tech tree felt oddly skewed.

When Kurenai saw Seiryū return, she immediately beamed, hopped off the sofa, and ran over to him, happily saying, ”Seiryū, you’re back! Want a popsicle? There’s still one in the fridge!”

”No, thanks.” Seiryū shook his head, then asked, ”Where’s Uncle Shinku? He’s not back yet?”

Kurenai licked her popsicle. It was late summer, and the popsicle was melting fast, almost dripping onto her hand. She slurped it and replied, ”Dad went grocery shopping. He should be back soon.”

Seiryū glanced at her and continued, ”I won’t be eating at home tonight. Sensei invited me to freeload a meal at Senpai’s house. Senpai also invited you. Want to come?”

”Me too?” She quickly finished her popsicle in a few bites. Because she ate too fast, she got a brain freeze and paused for a few seconds. Then she looked up in surprise. ”Is that okay?”

”It’s fine.” Seiryū smiled. ”You can also train with me during the holiday. Sensei and Senpai already agreed.”

”Wow!” Kurenai couldn’t help but cheer. Her face turned red from excitement. ”Seiryū, Seiryū, you’re the best! I thought you’d forget about your adorable little sister!”

She immediately hugged his arm, swaying it back and forth like a spoiled child. She looked incredibly cute.

Seiryū lightly tapped her head and laughed. ”Don’t forget, I’m supervising your training. If I weren’t watching you, you’d be lounging on the sofa, eating popsicles, being lazy—like just now.”

Kurenai’s cheeks turned red. She pouted, ”No way! I trained super hard this morning. I only took a break just now because I was tired. I wasn’t being lazy!”

Seiryū glanced at her sideways. ”You really look like someone who works hard?”

Kurenai insisted, ”Of course! I work very hard!”

With a straight face, Seiryū said, ”I don’t believe it.”

Creak...

The door opened, and Shinku returned with groceries in hand. The first thing he saw was was Seiryū teasing Kurenai. He fell silent.

”...”

Sigh. When will Seiryū get rid of this bad habit? Is teasing Kurenai really that fun?
