Chapter 694: Chapter 695: Flaws in Swordsmanship (Part 2)

However, Lin Chen didn’t reach for the walking stick; instead, he took Ah Shi’s hand in his own.

”Actually, I know the walking stick is just a prop to you. Isn’t it more harmonious for us to walk hand in hand like a couple on such a romantic beach?”

As her hand was held, Ah Shi’s cheeks turned red, but she didn’t speak and followed Lin Chen for a stroll on the beach.

Born into a martial arts family, Ah Shi had only ever grasped the hilt of her sword every day. Holding a boy’s hand for the first time, she found it so warm.

The two returned to the hotel and found General Luo De’s car already parked at the entrance; unexpectedly, Qima had come to pick them up.

Seeing Lin Chen and Ah Shi holding hands, Qima frowned but still suppressed her dissatisfaction and approached Ah Shi, ”Miss Ah Shi, I am here on my father’s orders to invite you to visit our home.”

Ah Shi smiled, ”Thank you for that.”

All three got into the car. Lin Chen was just about to sit in the back with Ah Shi when Qima snorted coldly, ”You drive!”

Reluctantly, Lin Chen sat in the driver’s seat and started the car.

General Luo De’s residence was very imposing, with a row of guards standing at the entrance.

After parking the car, the three of them walked into the hall.

Seeing them enter, Luo De stood up with a smile. Today he was dressed in casual attire, looking very amiable and none of his usual coldness.

”Welcome to our home. My wife, Nora, has already prepared dinner for you all. Let’s go have a meal together!” Luo De said with a smile.

Ah Shi smiled and said, ”General Luo De, my visit this time is to seek instruction in swordsmanship from you.”

”I know, but we’ll spar after eating, or else I won’t have the strength!” Luo De said, leading everyone to the dining room without further ado.

By now, the dining table was filled with delicious food, and a virtuous and beautiful woman smiled, ”Please take your seats, everyone.”

Luo De introduced, ”This is my wife, Nora.”

At that moment, a boy with the appearance of a grade school student came up to Lin Chen, ”You must be Brother Lin Chen, right? Will you teach me martial arts later? My sister often talks about you, saying how amazing you are.”

Looking at the adorable little boy in a suit in front of him, Lin Chen couldn’t help but pat his head, ”If you want to learn martial arts, you should learn from your dad. He is Tianyan’s number one expert, after all.”

”Dad? He’s too busy with work every day, hardly ever around,” the little boy pouted.

Lin Chen smiled helplessly, ”Alright, when I have time, I’ll definitely teach you.”

”Really?” Hearing Lin Chen’s words, the little boy’s face lit up with a happy smile.

Qima snorted, ”I don’t mind you teaching my brother martial arts, but don’t you dare teach him any of your bad habits.”

At this, Nora spoke up with slight discontent, ”Qima, how do you speak to a guest like that?”

Lin Chen laughed, ”It’s okay, we joke like this all the time.”

After the meal, they chatted for a while until Luo De stood up, ”Girl, let this old man see what you’ve got!”

Luo De’s home had a special training ground. After arriving there, Ah Shi drew her sword cane.

”A sword cane!” Luo De at first was startled and then roared with laughter.

Luo De smiled faintly, drawing only a knife, and even blindfolded himself with a cloth, ”After all, I am an old man, I can’t take advantage of kids, right?”

Witnessing Luo De’s actions, Lin Chen couldn’t help but admire him inwardly. This was truly the demeanor of a master.

Ah Shi bowed to Luo De and then said earnestly, ”Be careful, General Luo De—I’m coming!”

No sooner had she spoken than Ah Shi charged at Luo De like lightning.

Even Lin Chen’s eyes narrowed at this speed.

”Whoosh!” A sword sliced down.

But although the sword was swift, what it struck was only the afterimage left by General Luo De, who had already retreated a meter away.

”Such incredible speed!” Lin Chen had seen with the help of Tianyan that Luo De had only retreated at the instant after Ah Shi’s sword was cleaved down.

Even with Ah Shi’s speed, Lin Chen dared not be so careless, yet Luo De managed to do it.

A swing and a miss, yet Ah Shi’s feet did not pause; with a push, she shot out again like a sharp sword.

This time, Luo De didn’t dodge but instead met the attack with his blade.

”Clang!” The sword and blade collided.

Although neither could see the other, it didn’t hinder their duel.

In the training ground, the glint of swords and blades flashed, and the two shadows intertwined within the courtyard like wraiths.

”Clang, clang, clang!”

With each successive clash of metal, their speeds increased, until not even their figures could be clearly discerned, leaving only the flashes of their blades and swords.

The others were stunned, whereas only Lin Chen could make out their movement technique.

Ah Shi’s strength had surpassed Lin Chen’s expectations, knowing that the potent Bingbing had fallen to General Luo De in one move; yet she was now tied with Luo De.

However, as the battle wore on, Lin Chen couldn’t help but shake his head; Ah Shi was going to lose.

Though Ah Shi kept attacking and Luo De kept defending, her impatience grew as her attacks proved fruitless, and her flaws became more and more evident.

Their figures crossed paths once again, but this time instead of continuing the fight, Ah Shi turned and bowed to Luo De, ”General, I admit defeat.”

”It’s been a long time since I’ve had such an exhilarating fight, satisfying. I wonder if we could battle again tomorrow?” Luo De said, taking off the blindfold he had worn over his eyes, his tone full of yearning.

”Fight again tomorrow? Sure!” Ah Shi, defeated, looked rather embarrassed, gave Luo De a deep bow, and then turned to leave.

”That girl, she sure has a temper,” Lin Chen said as he bid farewell to General Luo De and hurriedly followed her out.

On the seashore, Ah Shi sat on a rock, immobile as a stone buddha.

”Girl, your strength is great. Even I would find it difficult to break through the General’s offense,” Lin Chen said, trying to console her.

Ah Shi shook her head, ”A loss is a loss. It means I’m not strong enough, I need to train harder.”

Saying this, Ah Shi’s figure leaped up, and under the moonlight, she brandished her sword.

Lin Chen’s mind echoed with the recent swordplay between them.

Ah Shi’s swordsmanship was already strong and near perfect, but for some reason, Lin Chen felt something was missing.

”What exactly is wrong?”

Lin Chen stared at the sword shadow under the moonlight, deep in thought.

Suddenly, the voice of the Qi System echoed in his mind, ”Many human skills are inspired by nature. If you can’t find a flaw, then looking up to appreciate the scenery can also be nice.”

”Look up and appreciate the scenery?”

Lin Chen lifted his head, only to see a bright moon hanging in the sky.

”So, the flaw is here,” he slapped his forehead with realization.

”Qi System, thank you so much. I’ve found the flaw in Ah Shi’s technique,” Lin Chen stood up excitedly.

Lin Chen had originally thought those interested in the brocade box would be from the Dark Alliance, but what awaited him instead was a blind girl.

Moreover, Lin Chen had already checked with the support of the Dragon Group of China, and there was nothing suspicious about Ah Shi; she truly was a descendent of the sunken merchant ship.

Lin Chen couldn’t bear to see Ah Shi come all this way without fulfilling her wish.

”Ah Shi, I’ve found the flaw in your technique,” Lin Chen said with a smile.
