Chapter 673: Chapter 674: The New Security Minister

Sophina pressed the bell on the desk, and soon a glamorous woman in high heels walked in.

”Heidi, this is the new Head of Security, could you take him to HR to complete the paperwork and then show him around?” Sophina said to Heidi.

”Yes, President.” Heidi nodded, glanced at Lin Chen, and said politely, ”Please follow me!”

”President, I’ll be taking off then, don’t miss me too much!” Lin Chen said with a smile as he followed Heidi out of the president’s office.

The news of Lin Chen’s appointment had already spread throughout the company, so his paperwork was processed very smoothly.

The two got on the elevator, and Heidi looked at Lin Chen with a curious expression.

Lin Chen smiled, ”Why are you looking at me like that? Is there something on my face?”

Heidi asked, ”There’s a rumor around the company that you’re President Sophina’s husband. Is that true or false?”

Lin Chen laughed and said, ”Of course it’s true, our relationship is very close now.”

”What? I don’t believe that,” said Heidi with a skeptical look on her face.

As Sophina’s secretary, she knew her boss very well.

Sophina was a woman with high standards, and ordinary people couldn’t catch her eye.

Over the years, countless talented young men in the city had tried to court Sophina, only to be rejected outright, and Heidi just couldn’t understand how in the end Sophina would choose Lin Chen as her husband.

Lin Chen followed Heidi to the company’s security department.

Many people here had seen Lin Chen before, as many still bore the scars that Lin Chen had left on them.

Seeing Lin Chen made them feel like mice that had seen a cat.

When they arrived at the door, Lin Chen quickly noticed something was off inside, two figures were engaged in some disreputable activity.

Unaware of the situation, Heidi approached and knocked.

A flustered voice came from inside, and it took five minutes before the door opened, and Su Ha walked out of the office.

Su Ha had a disheveled collar and lipstick marks on his neck.

Upon entering the room, Heidi smelled an unusual scent, but she didn’t think much of it, assuming it was left by a female employee who had come for business.

Su Ha was clearly flustered, but he still tried to steady his nerves.

Although Su Ha acted calm, Lin Chen was not to be fooled. Thanks to his x-ray vision, he spotted a woman in disarray hiding in a cabinet.

Obviously, this woman was the protagonist from just moments ago, and Lin Chen’s lips curled into a wicked smile, mockingly observing Su Ha.

Seeing Heidi, Su Ha gave an awkward smile: ”Miss Heidi, what brings you here?”

Heidi replied, ”I’m here on the President’s orders to bring the new Head of Security to take up his position.”

Upon hearing Heidi’s words, Su Ha’s face changed, ”Hold on, if I’m the Head of Security and he’s here, what am I supposed to do? Are we having two Heads of Security?”

Heidi gave a faint smile, ”Of course not, you are now demoted to Deputy Head.”

”What? I haven’t done anything wrong, why am I being demoted?” Upon hearing Heidi’s words, Su Ha’s face suddenly turned livid as he bellowed in rage.

”This is the President’s decision; I’m here just to announce the appointment,” Heidi said indifferently.

Su Ha was Kai Ming’s confidant, regularly embezzling company funds, accepting bribes, and even engaging in inappropriate relationships with some of the female employees.

Sophina had previously turned a blind eye to save face, but now that she and Kai Ming and others were at odds, she naturally wouldn’t show leniency to such corruption within the company.

”Bastard, why should she dismiss me from my minister position? I’m going to have a word with her right now, I don’t believe she can still keep the entire board under her thumb.” Su Ha said furiously.

It was at this moment that Lin Chen, who had been standing to the side, finally spoke up, with a faint smile: ”Minister Su Ha, it seems like you are not very satisfied with me taking over your position!”

Su Ha gave Lin Chen a glance and snorted coldly, ”Kid, don’t think just because you can fight you’re tough. If you want to steal my rice bowl, you’re still too green.”

Lin Chen responded with a cold smile and suddenly asked, ”Secretary Heidi, if someone has a relationship with a female employee during working hours, how should they be punished?”

Heidi replied coldly, ”According to company policy, they should be dismissed.”

Hearing Heidi’s words, Lin Chen nodded and walked towards the cabinet.

Seeing this, Su Ha’s complexion changed dramatically.

Lin Chen knocked on the cabinet, ”Minister Su Ha, this cabinet is made of solid wood, isn’t it?”

Su Ha, wiping sweat from his forehead, hurriedly replied, ”It’s solid wood.”

”Oh, then it must be able to hold a lot of things,” Lin Chen said with a smile.

”If you like, I’ll give it to you,” Su Ha said through gritted teeth.

”Oh, in that case, it seems Minister Su Ha has no objections to me taking over your position.”

A faint smile crossed Lin Chen’s lips as he spoke.

”Of course, I’m not as capable as Minister Lin Chen, it is only natural that I step down.”

A vicious gleam flickered across Su Ha’s face as he nodded in agreement.

”Since that’s the case, things will be easier. I hope Minister Su Ha will continue to support me. By the way, this cabinet smells too strong, you’d better keep it for yourself.”

Su Ha offered an awkward smile, but a cold glint lingered deep in his eyes.

Witnessing this scene, Heidi, who was standing by, was stunned. How had Su Ha’s attitude changed so quickly? He had appeared so resentful moments ago, but now he was suddenly so cooperative.

”If that’s the case, Minister Lin, I’ll be leaving now. You and Minister Su Ha can discuss the details of the handover,” Heidi said, glancing at Lin Chen.

Lin Chen smiled, ”Don’t worry, Secretary Heidi. Tell the president that Su Ha and I will definitely cooperate well to ensure the company’s security.”

Heidi nodded, glanced at Lin Chen, and left.

Once Heidi was out of sight, Su Ha wiped the sweat from his brow, ”Minister Lin Chen, would you like to use my office or perhaps the one next door?”

Lin Chen smiled, ”Next door is better. Minister Su Ha, in the future, it would be best to do such things outside. Offices are exciting, but being caught is never good, is it?”

Su Ha’s complexion shifted slightly, ”Alright, thank you, Minister Lin. I will keep that in mind.”

As soon as Lin Chen left,

He barked at the woman in the cabinet, ”Get out of there now!”

The woman crawled out of the cabinet, and Su Ha threw several bills in front of her, ”Get lost, and never show your face here again.”

The woman grabbed the money and scurried out of the office.

Su Ha’s expression immediately darkened as he rang up Kai Ming, ”President Kai, that bitch Sophina stripped me of my position and let her so-called husband take over as minister. You have to back me up!”

”What? Alright, I got it. I’ll handle it,” Su Ha said coldly as he hung up the phone.

”You want to take over my position, kid? Today, I’ll make sure you’re thrown out of that minister’s seat.”
