Super Strong Little Divine Farmer

Chapter 643: Chapter 644: Awesome Background

Firecrackers burst into sound, and on this day, the Xingchen Club finally opened for business.

Gazing at the storefront that had expanded many times over from its original size, Wei Ling felt a little thrill in her heart.

This time, Wei Ling had put a lot of effort into it, hiring quite a few beautiful girls from other shops and paying them high salaries. With her own beauty as the female boss, lots of regulars came to support the opening day. Coupled with the discounts offered, the club was soon filled with customers.

Lin Chen looked at the bustling scene and laughed, ”Ling, based on this situation, our club is definitely going to make a big profit.”

Wei Ling nodded and said, ”It’s too early to say now. After all, it’s just the first day of opening. It would be great if this momentum could last.”

While they were chatting, suddenly there was a commotion outside the door. The head of security rushed in, flustered, ”Sister Ling, there’s trouble. Someone’s making a disturbance outside.”

”What?” Hearing this, Wei Ling frowned unconsciously.

Since the entire underground world of Manshi was undergoing a major reshuffle, there was chaos everywhere, and many up-and-coming thugs had become active, beginning to fight over territories.

However, Wei Ling had already paid the protection fee to the boss of this area. Why would there still be people causing trouble?

”I’ll go out with you to have a look.” Lin Chen said, his gaze turning cold as he followed Wei Ling outside.

The moment they reached the doorway, they saw dozens of thugs armed with knives and clubs standing outside.

Wei Ling glanced at the leader of the group and was taken aback—she didn’t recognize this man.

”Brother, I’ve already paid the protection fee to Brother Dao, the boss of this area. What’s going on?” Wei Ling asked, puzzled.

”Brother Dao? Sorry, we killed him last night. Now this area is under our boss, Ba Fei,” said a young man in a plaid shirt, smirking as he pointed to a middle-aged man with a scar on his face.

”Brother Dao is dead?” Wei Ling’s face changed slightly at this news. Just a few days ago, she had paid six months of protection money, and if that was the case, it was as if the money had been thrown away.

Scarface sneered, ”You’re quite pretty, girl. How about this: we can waive the protection fee as long as you spend one night with me.”

As soon as Scarface finished his sentence, laughter erupted from those around him.

Lin Chen’s brow furrowed, ready to step in, but Wei Ling touched his arm and whispered, ”It’s the grand opening, don’t make a scene.”

Wei Ling then said with a charming smile, ”Ba Fei, I can join you for a drink later, no problem. But I have a boyfriend, so I really can’t spend the night with you. However, don’t worry, we will pay the full amount of the protection fee that’s due.”

After hearing Wei Ling’s words, Scarface sneered, ”Fine. If you won’t sleep with him, no problem, but the protection fee is one million for a year in total.”

Hearing Scarface’s words, Wei Ling’s expression darkened.

Normally, the annual protection fee would at most be a hundred thousand, but this guy was asking for a million right off the bat, clearly looking for trouble.

Finally, Lin Chen could no longer hold back and stood up, ”Ling, why bother paying any protection fee at all? Whoever dares to cause trouble in our club, I’ll deal with them one by one. It’s better to feed a dog than to give them the money!”

Boom!

Lin Chen’s words were like a thunderclap, silencing the crowd around them.

Especially the ruffians, who all wore angry expressions on their faces.

Scarface was visibly enraged, ”Kid, what did you say? Dare call me a dog? Are you tired of living?”

”Boss, let’s cripple this brat.”

”Right, trash their shop, let’s see if he continues to be arrogant.”

A cacophony of clamorous voices rose up, as the thugs waited for their leader’s command to rush into the shop.

Wei Ling’s face was pale as a gathering of people had already formed around them, and guests who had been inside playing were now congregating at the doorway to watch the excitement.

If the club was smashed on its opening day, it would undoubtedly have a huge impact on the club’s reputation.

The scar-faced man snorted coldly with a fierce smile on his face, ”Boys, since they don’t take us seriously, teach them who is the boss around here!”

Hearing their leader’s command, the gang members instantly pulled out knives and clubs and prepared to rush inside.

A glint of coldness appeared in Lin Chen’s eyes, and just when both sides were on the verge of coming to blows, seven or eight luxury cars pulled up in front of the club.

Everyone was stunned by the scene; the people arriving in such a grand manner were definitely not ordinary.

The car door opened, and the first to step out was a woman wearing sunglasses, exuding a cold aura as soon as she exited the vehicle.

Seeing this woman, the faces of the gang members changed slightly, for she was none other than Susan, the boss of the North District.

The scar-faced man and his underlings were nearly scared out of their wits at the sight of her.

However, the individuals stepping out of the other cars were even more terrifying to the gang members, leaving them dumbstruck.

Ba Fei from the East District, Lu Si from the South District, and Ah Dong from the West District—these gangsters, being part of the underworld circles, surely recognized these big shots.

But when they saw the person who stepped out of the last car, the gang members were petrified; it was Pei Lai, the underground emperor of Manchester.

At this moment, the scar-faced man felt his legs trembling. With so many big shots arriving all at once, what did it all mean?

Susan then smiled at Ba Fei, ”Ba Fei, for you to send your men to cause trouble at Brother Chen’s opening is quite bold of you!”

Ba Fei was about to lose his mind. Scarface was his newly recruited underling, and since he only just received the news that Lin Chen was the major shareholder of the Xingchen Club, he hadn’t had the chance to inform his subordinates, resulting in Scarface bringing his men over to collect protection fees.

He strode up to Scarface and slapped him across the face, ”Are you looking to die, daring to collect protection fees at Brother Chen’s club? Have you tired of living?”

Scarface was instantly stunned by the slap. He was not an idiot; the grand entrance of these figures told him that Lin Chen must be a person of great importance.

He dropped to his knees with a thud, kowtowing to Lin Chen, ”Big brother, I was wrong. I didn’t realize you were the big boss’s brother. Please, forgive me, treat me like I’m a fart!”

The rest of the gang members, having witnessed this scene, were scared out of their wits. Their own boss had knelt down; how could they dare to remain standing? In no time at all, the entrance of the club was filled with kneeling gang members.

Watching this unfold, Lin Chen snorted, ”Today’s the opening day, and I don’t want to see blood. Next time anyone dares cause trouble on my turf with knives and clubs, don’t blame me for not being polite.”

He extended his hand and snatched an iron club from one of the gang members, twisting it in his grip.

To everyone’s astonishment, Lin Chen bent the iron club into a lump of metal.

At that moment, the gang members all felt a sense of relief at having narrowly escaped death. They were lucky they hadn’t started a fight, for it would have been certain death.

Lin Chen tossed the lump of metal on the ground with a cold snort, ”All of you, get lost!”

Scarface, as if pardoned from death, led the gang members to flee in disarray.

By this time, Pei Lai had already walked over, ”Big brother, really, you should have told me about something as big as your club opening.”

Lin Chen smiled, ”I know you’re busy; I didn’t want to disturb you.”

Pei Lai replied with a laugh, ”No matter how busy, I would come to support Brother Chen’s opening. Today, we won’t return until we’re drunk.”

The guests watching this scene were completely dumbfounded. The underground emperor of Manchester and the big shots from all four districts had come to support the club. Just what kind of impressive background did this young man have?
