Apocalyptic Reincarnation: Start with a 30-million Bonus

Li Yu looked at the blood still staining the ground, heavy-hearted, and walked toward the Satellite City.

”Director Li.”

”Director Li.”

”Director Li.”

”City Lord.”

Along the way, people kept greeting him, their eyes filled with worship and awe.

Li Yu’s whole body radiated a suffocating aura that made everyone who saw him feel short of breath.

Without realizing it, Li Yu had already stepped into the Satellite City.

Uncle immediately spotted Li Yu.

”Xiao Yu.”

”Uncle, where are the people who were caught?” Li Yu asked.

Uncle pointed at a building in the center and replied, ”They’re in there, all locked up.”

”Good.” Li Yu nodded.

There was no expression on Li Yu’s face at this moment. Even though he was a bit agitated and worried about He Chao’s safety.

He still maintained absolute rationality.

Guo Peng walked out of the building. Seeing Li Yu, his expression changed. With things blown up like this, he was very afraid Li Yu would hold him accountable.

”City Lord, you’re back.” Guo Peng quickened his short steps and came up to Li Yu.

Li Yu gave a slight nod and said, ”I already know the general situation. I’ll be taking these people inside with me. Also, drive out all Cooperative Personnel who joined the Satellite City in the last month.”

”Ah? Okay. If they ask why, what should I say?” Guo Peng asked.

”Heh, the reason?”

”What happened today is the reason. If they ask, make them give up the names of everyone else who took part in this protest.”

A cold light flashed in Li Yu’s eyes as he went on:

”In addition, suspend all cooperation with the Cooperative Personnel who joined in the last month and a half, stop exchanging any food to them.

Only after every person involved in this protest has been found will we resume this round of food-exchange cooperation.

We’re not only going to investigate ourselves, we’re going to use their strength to investigate too!

If we’re checking, then we check them to the bone!”

”And give those people coming in from the outside a deadline: within one week, if they haven’t come to register their name, occupation, place of origin, etc.

After one week, I’ll send people to patrol around Xin City and Gan City. If they find anyone who hasn’t registered, they’re to be executed on sight!

Starting tomorrow, send out a squad and have them broadcast this on loudspeakers around the clock. I’ll also inform the other Satellite Cities and have them do the same.

It all boils down to one sentence: in Gan City’s territory, anyone who comes here must register. If you don’t register, either get out, or die!”

As Li Yu spoke, his domineering aura burst out, making Dapao and the others behind him look fired up.

When Brother Yu talks, it’s inspiring!

Right after that.

Li Yu continued:

”Finally, implement mutual reporting among these people. Once verification is done, drag them to the Fourth Outer City of Big Camphor Tree Base and have them help build the Outer City, working until they drop dead.”

Hiss!

Guo Peng was secretly shocked; he hadn’t expected Director Li to be this ruthless.

The few orders he had just given were really going in hard on these Survivors from the Southwest.

After Li Yu finished speaking, he just stared straight at Guo Peng.

Sweat broke out on Guo Peng’s forehead. He hurriedly said:

”Understood, City Lord.”

Hearing Li Yu’s words, Uncle hesitated for a moment and said:

”Xiao Yu, if we do this, a lot of people might leave Gan City. Wouldn’t that be bad for our future development?”

Li Yu’s tone softened a little when he heard Uncle speak.

”If they leave, then they leave. Before these people came, we had fewer than two hundred in the Inner City, nearly four hundred in the Outer City, three hundred Extra Staff, and two thousand Cooperative Personnel. All together barely three thousand. Did we ever have anything like this happen?”

”I heard from Second Uncle that there are an estimated more than six thousand Survivors coming from the Southwest, and that’s only an estimate—there might actually be even more.

With that many people, we can’t keep them fed. Even using a task-for-food system, our supplies are limited; most of them are definitely going to starve to death.”

”More people doesn’t necessarily mean something good. What I want are people who obey. If they don’t obey, what use are they, no matter how capable?”

......

Li Yu’s words convinced Uncle, who could only shake his head with a bitter smile and say:

”Fine, you handle it. Just make sure you talk this over with your Second Uncle too.”

Li Yu nodded slightly; he had already decided what to do.

Now, telling them was just notification.

Previously he discussed things out of respect, out of caution, fearing he might not be careful enough.

But with something like this already happening, of course he had to cut the mess quickly, solve the problem fast, precise, and ruthless.

Otherwise, when the tail gets too big, you can’t wag it. Right now it’s six thousand; if later the numbers grow, how do you handle tens of thousands?

Wouldn’t that be almost the same as the situation over at Southern Paradise?

Outside their walls, there have always been tens of thousands of refugees camping beneath them.

Hard to drive away, and if you kill them, too many people will breed hatred; if you don’t kill them all, you’ll have endless trouble afterward.

Staying around outside the walls all the time brings plenty of hidden dangers to the people inside Southern Paradise.

For example, when they go out to scavenge supplies, someone ambushes them from time to time.

Those refugees are like stubborn taffy—can’t swallow, can’t shake off, a huge pain.

After that.

Li Yu walked into the building and saw the naked people inside. He waved his hand.

”Escort them onto the trucks and take them back to the base!”

Hearing this, Li Tie and the others each grabbed a knife and smacked the backs of the blades against the prisoners.

”Move! Get up!”
