Apocalyptic Reincarnation: Start with a 30-million Bonus

But in the post-apocalyptic world, carrying so much food is very dangerous.

Although they are within the sphere of influence of the Big Camphor Tree Base and no one will rob them, what if someone steals at night?

Moreover, they frequently go out on missions, and carrying hundreds of pounds of food all the time is not very safe.

So, the first team proposed to temporarily store the food that can be exchanged at the Big Camphor Tree Base and come to retrieve it when needed later.

After all, for them, keeping it at the Big Camphor Tree Base is very safe.

Of course, keeping food in one’s own hands is the most secure, but for some people, holding too much food is also dangerous.

After working with the Big Camphor Tree Base for so long, these people have a high degree of recognition and trust in the Big Camphor Tree Base. With the first person doing so, gradually a small number of people are doing the same.

Currently, most of the people doing this are extra staff, as well as old-timers who have been cooperating with the Big Camphor Tree Base for a long time.

For the Big Camphor Tree Base, not having to take out so much food at once and keeping the food with them, why not?

So, with the needs of both parties, this option of surrogate food storage was opened.

Similar to a bank before the doomsday.

After all, in this post-apocalyptic world, the most common and most valuable currency is food.

Noble Consort and Old Huang, after getting a large amount of brass wire last time, their points skyrocketed.

The three of them, each has over a hundred pounds of food.

This is a huge fortune.

Enough to feed them for a whole year!

In the Big Camphor Tree Base, except for the inner and outer city personnel, no one can have three meals a day, filling each meal.

This is too luxurious for them.

Having experienced the pain of hunger, they would, like hamsters, constantly find ways to stock up on food for future use, just in case.

They no longer want to live that life where hunger makes them dizzy and their eyes turn green.

Noble Consort is in quite a good mood.

The wealth she suddenly acquired the other day gave her the confidence to keep living on.

Although she is far from the Big Camphor Tree Base in the Fifth Satellite City, not as safe as around the base, the competition here is not as intense, making it easier to earn points.

....

The sun has not yet risen.

The sky is tinged with green-gray, misty.

It’s just past five o’clock.

Squeak—

Noble Consort pushed open the door, planning to draw some water from the well outside to wash her face.

In the center of the Fifth Satellite City, there are three building structures and two rows of prefab houses made of iron sheets.

Noble Consort walked out of the prefab house and at a glance saw the personnel on duty guarding at the gate.

She felt a silent sense of security in her heart.

Passing through the prefab house, she walked to the end of the iron-sheet prefab houses.

She was about to reach the well.

Suddenly, she heard voices coming from the prefab house at the end.

?

Noble Consort was a little puzzled, slowly slowed her pace, and perked her ears to listen.

”I think we shouldn’t get involved in this matter, it’s a serious issue, we’ve seen the strength of the Big Camphor Tree Base. We managed to get into the Fifth Satellite City, and if we join their protest activities, if it arouses the displeasure of Captain Guo of Big Camphor Tree, or even if the base takes action against us, we have no power to resist.”

A heavy man’s voice, with a tone of iron not able to turn into steel, said:

”Hey, how can I not get through to you? Insider news, the main force of the Big Camphor Tree Base is not in Xin City anymore, what are you afraid of? Qiu Yuanze and those guys are right, now so many people are coming from the Southwest, as long as we work together to protest, it’s unlikely they would kill so many of us.”

Another young man replied:

”Old He, I don’t care what you guys think, but I don’t want to get involved in this muddy water. We’ve been able to run away all the way here and find such a good place, why can’t you be content? Why cause trouble? That’s not....”

He didn’t say ”egg against stone”, but the older man understood what he meant.

”Think about it again, if we succeed, then everyone’s treatment can improve. Why do so many tasks for just a little bit of food?

This is not a gift, nor is it a cooperative trade, it’s exploitation of our labor.

The Big Camphor Tree Base is sly, letting us risk seeking supplies while they stay behind high walls, it’s really infuriating.”

The young man frowned, seemingly upset by what Old He said.

So he said:

”You don’t need to say more, if you came to me so early for this matter, I can give you a definite answer.

I am not joining.”

The older Old He helplessly said:

”Alright, alright, but Xiao Ou, you have to keep this a secret for me, don’t let the news leak, or it’s no good for you either.”

The words carried a hint of threat.

”I know, you better leave quickly, it’s about to be daylight, if someone discovers us, it will be trouble.”

”Alright, Xiao Ou, if you change your mind, you can tell me anytime, let me tell you the truth, there are quite a few people willing to join this protest activity right now!”

After speaking, he then walked towards the door.

The Noble Consort eavesdropping outside felt a tightness in her heart, tiptoed to the side of the prefab house, then circled around to the back of the prefab house.
