Chapter 899: Chapter 636: The Local Powers Are So Rude (Double-Length)

Luckily, we ran fast.

They have been staying in the Western Alliance and seldom come out. Although they have fought zombies, they’ve rarely had conflicts with forces from other bases.

Though in the Western Alliance, everything had to be under Gan Xiong’s oppressive rule, one must admit, it’s comfortable under the shade of a big tree.

They still haven’t had any life-and-death battles with other base forces.

Soon, they returned to the temporary encampment area in the western suburbs of Yishi where the Zhou and Liu families were stationed.

Once back at the encampment, Zhou Zhisheng and Liu Cunyi finally felt somewhat relieved.

After all, a large group of people gives them a sense of security.

”What’s wrong?” Old Master Liu Taishan asked as he saw Liu Cunyi anxiously getting out of the car.

Liu Cunyi then recounted what had just happened to him.

”Dad, do you think we should go check their strength tomorrow, and if we don’t split with the Zhou family, should we cooperate with them for one big job?”

Liu Taishan asked about the number of people there, but Liu Cunyi didn’t get a clear look, since it was also a suburban area without tall buildings.

The only tall building was inside that distillery; from outside, they couldn’t tell how many people were in there or how many had firearms.

Moreover, in haste just now, they didn’t stay near the entrance for long before that damn iron barrel alerted them.

In this Doomsday, the fastest way to get food is to seize it from others.

Liu Taishan was silent for a minute, then said, ”This is not the most important thing right now. What’s most important is, tonight at the encampment, your brother led people in another direction and hasn’t returned yet. I wonder if they can find a suitable place to camp.”

Liu Cunyi looked at the residential houses and said, ”Dad, if it’s really impossible, let’s just camp here. There’s not enough time; in twenty minutes, it will be dark.”

Liu Taishan looked at the distant mountains; the sun was already on the edge, and soon the sun would set.

He was somewhat tempted by his eldest son Liu Cunyi’s suggestion, but for some reason, staying here made him feel inexplicably anxious.

At their current location, though it was on the edge of Yishi, he still felt it was too close to the city center.

With the Zhou and Liu families combined, there were a full five to six hundred people, and such a large human presence could easily attract zombies.

If they only had ten to twenty people, it wouldn’t matter; such a small scent wouldn’t attract many zombies.

At that moment, his second son Liu Cunxi and others returned.

With expressions of anger and fear on their faces, Liu Taishan’s heart skipped a beat when he saw them.

”What happened with you now?” Liu Taishan asked.

Liu Cunxi said indignantly, ”The local powers are really rude. We were just passing by, and they dared to chase us. If we hadn’t pulled out our guns, that bunch would’ve robbed us.”

Liu Cunxi had lived a Playboy life since childhood. Even after the Doomsday, he had female slaves serving him, with his elder brother supporting him outside and his father protecting him at home.

One could say he never suffered in the Western Alliance.

He rarely stepped outside the walls of the Western Alliance at all.

Or rather, he never left the Liu family’s small courtyard.

When Gan Shang brought in hundreds of slaves, he picked four or five female slaves and indulged in revelry every night, earning the nickname ”Kidney-deficiency Son” in the Western Alliance.

He would be out of breath after just a few steps.

Clearly, he suffered a setback when he went out to find a camping spot just now.

...

Upon hearing this, Liu Taishan quickly asked, ”How many were they?”

Liu Cunxi replied, ”Not many, just over thirty. They were all scared off by my gun, a bunch of weaklings.”

Liu Cunyi glared at his younger brother and helplessly said to his father, ”Dad, how about we just camp here tonight? Although these houses aren’t tall,

they don’t have walls, but with our two families’ vehicles forming a circle, they could serve as a makeshift wall.

Besides, the forces here in Yishi are a bit complicated, so why not be a bit cautious and head to Yun Province early in the morning?”

Liu Taishan was silent for two seconds then said, ”Our food can only last for two months at most, and now there’s finally a chance to get food, we can’t just let it slip by. When we go to Yun Province, do you think that power will feed us for free?

We have no choice tonight, we’ll camp here temporarily. Tomorrow morning, you and Zhou Zhisheng will gather more people to find out what strength that distillery has.”

After speaking, he asked Liu Cunxi, ”That small team you encountered just now, did they mention anything about the distillery on the east side?”

”Huh? I don’t know, they ran off quickly, almost as soon as we drew our guns, they fled.”

.......

As night gradually fell, the Liu and Zhou families used dozens of vehicles to encircle several houses, forming a wall made of cars.

The sky gradually darkened, and for the first time, they came out in large numbers from the Western Alliance. Though they knew the importance of a camping spot, they still lacked experience, and the place they chose was only a twenty-minute drive from the city center, still too close.
