Apocalyptic Reincarnation: Start with a 30-million Bonus

Chapter 864: Chapter 624: Encircled from Front and Back, Surrender and You Won’t Die (Double-Length) (Part 2)

Li Yu glanced at him. After two or three days without water, Hai Chao’s lips were dry and cracked, turning white.

He took out a small plastic container, poured some water into it, and handed it to him.

Seeing the water, Hai Chao struggled to get up. His hands were tied, bound behind him, making it impossible for him to drink by himself.

Li Yu saw this and did not untie him.

He picked up the container and walked in front of him.

”Open your mouth!” Li Yu commanded from above.

Hai Chao quickly opened his mouth as wide as possible, afraid that any water might splash out.

Li Yu poured the water into his mouth. Hai Chao smacked his lips, savoring the taste, and stuck out his tongue, licking his dry lips.

Li Yu put down the plastic container and turned to leave the small room.

Just as he exited, Li Yu picked up the walkie-talkie and said to everyone, ”Attention all, judging by the timing, if Gao Ru and his team return today, it will likely be around four o’clock, which is now. Stay alert, keep your eyes sharp, and be ready to move at any moment.”

”Roger that.”

”Roger that.”

.....

Hearing the replies from everyone ambushed nearby put Li Yu’s mind at ease slightly.

Ten minutes later.

It’s now four-thirty in the afternoon.

Everyone is ready, carefully observing the surroundings.

On the outermost front, Third Uncle was holding a telescope, watching the main road to the west.

Suddenly, he saw a car appear in the distance.

Soon followed by a second car, a third.

Until he saw the fifth car.

Third Uncle immediately grabbed the walkie-talkie and spoke to Li Yu, ”There are people coming from the west, five cars. I counted, there’s a car obscured in the back, approximately 10-15 people. It’s highly likely to be Gao Ru and his team.”

Li Yu asked, ”What kind of cars are they driving?”

Third Uncle replied, ”Two pickups, two small trucks, and an off-road vehicle.”

Li Yu immediately confirmed, ”Yes, it should be them. According to Hai Chao, these are the vehicles they took, the types and the numbers match.”

Then he said to Yang Tianlong, ”Tianlong, you’re positioned on the right side of that road, you can take action now.”

And then to Third Uncle, ”Third Uncle, wait until they’re in the trap, cut off their retreat.”

”Ju Tianrui, Xiao Jun, you can come downstairs now, head over to our side first.”

Ju Tianrui and Xiao Jun were on the eastern bank of Juzi Island, opposite from where Gao Ru was coming.

Soon, Li Yu carried a gun and led Dapao and the others downstairs.

Luo, who was ready and waiting, immediately opened the car door for Li Yu and his team to get in.

In the car, Li Yu heard Third Uncle say, ”Xiao Yu, they’re approaching. They’ve entered the trap. We’re behind them, ready to move at any time.”

Li Yu quickly asked, ”Tianlong, are you in position? Don’t let them escape.”

Yang Tianlong looked at the approaching vehicles and replied, ”I’m in position, they’ll be here in two minutes at most.”

Li Yu quickly instructed Third Uncle and Yang Tianlong, ”Go! Tiezi, you should be able to see their vehicles from upstairs. Keep everyone informed of Gao Ru’s position.”

”Understood.”

On the other side, Yang Tianlong instructed Wang Cheng to drive out, heading straight for Gao Ru’s convoy.

Li Yu, a bit anxious, said to Luo, ”Speed up.”

At this time, Third Uncle also took action. With Old Qin and others driving, they pursued Gao Ru from behind.

From an aerial view, you could see this scene: Third Uncle’s vehicles were close behind Gao Ru’s five vehicles, just a few hundred meters apart.

In front of Gao Ru, one kilometer away, were Yang Tianlong and his team.

This main road was straight, with no bends or curves.

Gao Ru napped in the car; perhaps because they were close, he opened his eyes.

”How much longer?” he asked the tall driver.

The tall man glanced at the familiar surrounding buildings and said, ”Three kilometers, just a few minutes away.”

”Alright.”

Suddenly, the car in front abruptly stopped, and he quickly hit the brakes.

In front, the driver of the car slanted in front of them stuck out his head and said to those behind, ”There’s a car coming ahead.”

The tall man upon hearing this, immediately craned his neck forward to look.

Indeed, he saw three cars heading in their direction.

Gao Ru also rolled down the window, watching the unfamiliar cars a hundred meters away.

”Xiao Pan, pull aside and let them through. We’re about to return to the Western Alliance, don’t mind them,” Gao Ru said.

They had five cars, two of which were side by side.

Xiao Pan pouted; in his mind, their force on Juzi Island was the strongest here, why should they yield?

Despite his reluctance, he complied.

He slowly drove the car ahead of Gao Ru’s.

Generally, in Doomsday, if you encounter strangers or unknown convoys, you tend to steer clear of each other.

Unless there’s only one road, then there is an unspoken agreement to pass each other by.

But because Gao Ru’s team wasn’t traveling in single file but were two cars abreast, the gap left between them, though passable by one car, was too close for comfort for either side.

This time, though, it wasn’t like before.

This time, the strangers they encountered were coming for their lives.

They still have no idea that Gan Shang and his team have already been wiped out by the people before them. If Gao Ru knew, he certainly wouldn’t be pulling aside to let them pass; he’d be trying to escape as fast as possible.
