Apocalyptic Reincarnation: Start with a 30-million Bonus

Chapter 897: Chapter 636: The Local Powers Are So Rude (Double Chapter)

The Liu and Zhou families, emerging from the Western Alliance, sped along at full tilt.

There wasn’t the slightest pause, as if fearing Gan Xiong might change his mind. As agreed by the two families, they left the Western Alliance without stopping for a second on the way.

But the roads after Doomsday were indeed hard to navigate, and what normally took just an hour took twice the time.

More than two hours later, they arrived at Meishan.

Today the weather was good, the sun was shining high, but the temperature was not high. Rolling down the car window, one could feel the cold air spilling in, taking away body heat.

Zhou Zhisheng got out of the car, exhaling white mist, and walked over to the vehicle where Liu Cunyi was located.

According to the previous arrangement with Liu Cunyi, they would temporarily head to Meishan after leaving the Western Alliance.

As for whether to proceed with the Liu family to Kun City in Yun Province afterward, that would be discussed upon reaching Meishan.

Now, having successfully left the Western Alliance and arrived at Meishan, it was time to decide on the next steps.

Whether to part ways or head to Yun Province together, Zhou Zhisheng needed to give Liu Cunyi an answer.

Seeing Zhou Zhisheng get out and approach on foot, Liu Cunyi knew the Zhou family intended to lay all their cards on the table.

Honestly speaking, he really hoped the Zhou family would accompany him to Yun Province because going to a new place during this Doomsday felt safer with numbers.

Aside from anything else, at least within the Western Alliance, they had stood together against the Gan family, which made them allies on the same front.

The car door opened, and Liu Cunyi said to Zhou Zhisheng outside, ”Mr. Zhou, hop in for a chat. The wind outside is too strong, it’s too cold.”

Zhou Zhisheng saw the RV door open and, without hesitation, stepped inside.

He sat on the sofa inside the RV.

Liu Cunyi poured a steaming cup of tea from the teapot beside him, handed it to Zhou Zhisheng, and then said, ”Have you thought it over? I’d suggest you come with us instead. It’s a bit farther from the Western Alliance, and they won’t be able to control us.

Besides, once we get there, we don’t necessarily have to join that minority faction. If things look iffy, we can leave.

Moreover, it’s getting colder by the day. We need to quickly find a suitable place to settle. The Yun Province might not be as cold.”

.......

Liu Cunyi earnestly persuaded Zhou Zhisheng.

A faint wry smile appeared on Zhou Zhisheng’s face as he said to Liu Cunyi, ”Our family’s patriarch has made his decision. Although I’m also managing the Zhou family, I can’t change the old man’s decision.

He still feels it’s too hard living under someone else’s control, so we’re not going with you to Yun Province.”

Despite all Liu Cunyi said, Zhou Zhisheng still refused. The teapot in his hand paused slightly, and he sighed.

After a few seconds of silence.

He finally asked, ”I won’t force you, but where do you plan to go next?”

After thinking for a moment, Zhou Zhisheng replied, ”Bi County. We think there are fewer zombies in smaller places than in big cities.”

Liu Cunyi, hearing this, recalled the location of Bi County in his mind.

Bi County is part of Gui Province. Before Doomsday, under normal circumstances and driving by car, it was a seven or eight-hour journey from the Western Alliance, about four or five hours from Yun Province.

He said, ”I won’t say much more, lest I be verbose. I wish you good luck. If you run into difficulties there, you can come to Yun Province and find me.”

Zhou Zhisheng replied with a smile, ”Of course, we’re the Iron Alliance. If you can’t make it in Yun Province, you can come to Bi County and find us.”

”Okay, well, let’s see the road ahead. We can still travel a bit further together and separate at Yishi.”

”Alright, enough said, let’s hurry on our way. Let’s try to make it there today.”

After Zhou Zhisheng finished speaking, he bid farewell to Liu Cunyi.

They had many vehicles, fully loaded with various supplies, and drove cautiously to avoid any falling behind.

Due to the bumpy roads, occasionally some luggage would tumble off the roof, which slowed their pace even further.

.....

By evening, the temperature dropped drastically.

They barely reached Yishi past four in the evening.

They didn’t dare enter the city, only searching for some factory buildings in the nearby suburbs to set up camp.

At night, the city turned into a zombie town—extremely dangerous.

Living in the countryside also posed a problem; transportation was inconvenient, and there were rarely houses that could accommodate hundreds of people.

Thus, during Doomsday, many survivors preferred to reside in the far suburbs of cities.

With the temperature dropping quickly, they started looking for tonight’s campsite while there was still sunlight after reaching the outskirts of Yishi.

Yishi had a lot of distilleries to begin with.

And distilleries were usually enclosed. Soon, they found a distillery on the map nearby.

This distillery was quite famous before Doomsday.

Therefore, the Zhou and Liu families agreed and decided to check out the distillery.

They might even find some food there; after all, the place was for brewing alcohol, it must have stored a lot of grain, or at worst, they could get some alcohol.

In this cold Doomsday, a sip of high-proof hot alcohol was enough to warm the body.

Despair and oppression were the norm during Doomsday.
