Apocalyptic Reincarnation: Start with a 30-million Bonus

Chapter 651: Chapter 542: Keep it up! (Refresh to view)

In the forest.

Third Uncle and Old Qin followed behind Xiao Jun and the others.

But the farther they went, the more they felt something was off.

They had followed this route and ended up on the way back to the Big Camphor Tree Base.

Confused, Old Qin said to Third Uncle, ”Should we stop them and ask?”

Third Uncle hesitated for a moment and said, ”With just the two of us, it wouldn’t be difficult to handle these dozen people, but a direct confrontation would still be challenging.”

So he shook his head and replied, ”Not for now, let’s keep following them. I’ve just checked; these are the people from Xin City before, they haven’t added anyone new after returning to Juzi Island.”

Old Qin nodded and said, ”Okay, captain, as you say.”

Following Xiao Jun’s convoy was a discreet and cautious tail.

Nanzhuang Town.

They crossed the Nanzhuang Town Bridge.

The zombies continued to follow behind.

Li Yu held a heavy machine gun, appearing like a madman.

Bullet casings fell onto the platform, burying his shoes.

After crossing the bridge, they reached the mouth of the street.

”Tiezi, bring me the rocket launcher,” Li Yu said to Li Tie inside the vehicle.

Li Tie handed over the rocket launcher; Li Yu took it, put down the heavy machine gun, and let Li Tie continue to use it to attack the zombies.

He then loaded a bomb and fired at the zombies behind them.

Boom—

The zombie tide coming from the bridge halted due to the limited width of the bridge.

Li Yu, seeing this scene, slowly put down the rocket launcher in his hand.

Although there were still some zombies around the vehicle, they were no longer a threat.

The group, powerful and imposing, came down from the bridge without any pause and continued on the road they came from.

After leaving Nanzhuang Town, the sky seemed much cleaner.

Blue skies and scorching sun.

Li Yu wiped the sweat from his brow, looked back at the distant Nanzhuang Town, and let out a long sigh of relief.

Bang—

He shut the carrier’s door and collapsed in a corner inside the vehicle.

A wave of fatigue surged like a tide.

Exhausted, he couldn’t muster any strength.

Huff, huff—

Li Yu took a water bottle from the nearby box and took a few gulps.

Through his headset, he heard a message from Ah Hong, ”Director Li, I just took a look, the weapons inside this vehicle are all assault rifles.”

Her voice was filled with excitement.

Li Yu’s smile widened, and he cheerfully replied, ”Hmm, I guessed as much. Let’s leave this area first. We’ll check after getting back to the base.”

Everyone was filled with joy. In this apocalypse, the importance of weapons was self-evident.

The vehicles roared, and they did not stop along the way.

However, the giant carrier, due to its large size passing on the road, caused vibrations that still attracted some zombies from the city.

But, they were already used to it.

Moreover, as long as the number of zombies wasn’t too many, their threat was relatively low.

The tank led the way, looking quite imposing.

However, the speed of the tank was also much faster than that of the loader.

After traveling about thirty kilometers, Dapao said to Li Yu, ”Brother Yu, we need to hurry and find a gas station to refuel. This loader consumes too much diesel.

Even though we filled up the tank, we just refueled the other tanks, and now our vehicle is almost out of diesel.”

Upon hearing this, Li Yu’s brow furrowed slightly. Since the apocalypse, they had scavenged diesel from some of the gas stations near Xin City.

However, the gas stations near the base had basically not been touched again, as one does not harvest the crops adjacent to their burrow.

Storing diesel also required space; the gas stations around the base could be harvested for their much-needed gasoline later.

Li Yu, unfamiliar with the area, then said, ”Check the map for nearby gas stations where we can refuel.”

In fact, not only the loader, but both the tank and the armored vehicle needed to be filled up.

Only a small amount of diesel had been added to those vehicles earlier.

Li Tie, holding the navigator, searched and then said to Li Yu, ”Big Brother, there’s a place ahead, not far, just 5 kilometers away with a gas station.”

Li Yu nodded and said, ”Okay, inform Luo and the others ahead to lead the way there.”

At this moment, the formation still maintained the same as when they left Nanzhuang Town, with three tanks at the forefront.

After conveying the message to Luo, who understood, they continued on their way.

However, they were surprised to find, upon nearing, that the gas station was completely unrecognizable.

The entire station seemed as if it had been engulfed in flames, with charred vehicles around it.

It looked like there had been an explosion?

Luo peeked out from the top of the tank, staring dumbfounded at the former gas station.

”Maybe someone was smoking inside?” suggested Yang Tianlong.

”How could it be, someone must have ignited the gas station,” said Li Tie.

”Why would anyone do that? It’s all gasoline; even if it wasn’t needed, there’s no need to blow it up. What a waste,” Luo said helplessly into the microphone.

”Who knows what these people were thinking, their brains must’ve been kicked by a donkey, just like before the apocalypse, there were also some lunatics, some incomprehensible actions. Holding a bowl and still cursing,” Li Tie angrily said.

Luo glanced at the several scrapped vehicles, which had been burned beyond recognition, reduced to mere skeletons.

Seeing the bodies next to the vehicles, left with only their skulls, he shook his head. Burned like this, even the zombies wouldn’t take a bite.

Li Yu stood up inside the vehicle, holding the navigator, and then said to Luo, ”Don’t stop, our diesel is running low. Hurry up, there’s another gas station ten kilometers ahead.”

Ten kilometers.

Dapao checked the fuel gauge on the loader, which indeed could still hold out for a bit longer.

The group didn’t stop, continuing to drive forward.

The loader was too slow, so Li Yu said to Yang Tianlong and the others, ”Your vehicles are fast, you go ahead and check if there’s diesel, and remember to bring the electric pump, otherwise you can’t refuel.”

”Okay, then we’ll go ahead,” Yang Tianlong responded.

Then they drove towards the gas station ahead.

Their speed was very fast, completely opposite to the slow crawl of the loader.

Yang Tianlong and his group reached the gas station in less than 7 minutes.

This was a large gas station.

Yang Tianlong, armed, got out of the vehicle and surveyed the surroundings.

This area had left Fushi, on the edge of a small town.

After several people got out, they brought down the electric pump.

This gas station had not been damaged, which relieved them.

After re-checking the underground tanks of the gas station and finding no issues, they then communicated to Li Yu and the others: ”No problems, the fuel here is still intact, hurry over.”
