Apocalyptic Reincarnation: Start with a 30-million Bonus

Chapter 667: Chapter 549: Now, There Are More Important Matters (Two in One)_2

This was to Xiao Jun’s liking.

After discussing everything with Zhou Tian and the others, Xiao Jun then sought out Li Yu.

”Director Li, I’ve discussed it with the brothers and heard what Captain Lv said. I think this model is quite good,” Xiao Jun said.

Li Yu smiled and nodded, saying, ”That’s fine then.”

A thoughtful look flashed in his eyes as he remembered the place outside Big Camphor Tree Base where Old Qin and others had lived before joining.

So he said, ”You don’t have a stable place to stay yet, right? I’ll find a place for you first. Let’s go.”

After speaking, he didn’t wait for Xiao Jun and the others, but got straight into the car.

Xiao Jun was slightly stunned at the scene. He was somewhat amazed by the decisive actions of Director Li.

Old Lv chuckled beside him, speaking to him in the tone of someone experienced:

”Haha, Director Li is a good person. You’ll know in time. Let’s go.”

They all came by car. In this post-apocalyptic world, the least valuable things were houses and cars.

The streets were filled with them, with abandoned vehicles and houses everywhere.

Li Yu went back to the Unimog, and once everyone was in the car, he prepared to drive back to the base.

Seemingly remembering something, he said to Zhuzi:

”Record this, Xiao Hu and Zuo Ruxue and their points, add five this time.”

Then he said to Xiao Hu and Zuo Ruxue below the car: ”Each of you will get an extra kilogram of food per month starting this month.”

After waving at them, he had Yang Tianlong start the engine and drove towards Big Camphor Tree Base.

Below, Zuo Ruxue and others watched as Li Yu and his group departed, their eyes filled with envy and gratitude.

Not to mention anything else, ever since Big Camphor Tree had established this unique cooperation model, it had been tough for women like Zuo Ruxue to survive in this apocalyptic world.

Yet they remained resilient, overcoming numerous difficulties to stay alive.

By cooperating with Big Camphor Tree Base, they obtained food and over time amassed enough Contribution Value to successfully obtain the status of Extra Staff.

With this status, in Xin City or nearby Gan City, generally no one looked for trouble with them intentionally.

Those recognized as Extra Staff of Big Camphor Tree knew each other somewhat.

Seeing Li Yu and his group leaving, Zuo Ruxue said to a familiar Xiao Hu:

”We’re heading out first. Let’s plan a trip to Longnan some day; I heard there are some good finds there, and we could go check it out together.”

Xiao Hu, admiring the woman, said, ”Alright, let’s plan for a few days later. I’m a bit occupied with other stuff recently.”

After the exchange of greetings, Zuo Ruxue took her people and left.

...

On the Unimog.

Li Yu looked at the little orange cat at Third Uncle’s feet.

Lying obediently next to Third Uncle’s shoes, it looked just like a small stick with fur.

Smiling, he said to Third Uncle, ”Where did you find this cat?”

Third Uncle shared the story of how he encountered this cat last night and how the cat alerted them to zombies.

This reminded him of the few dogs he kept at the base.

Sometimes, just before it was about to rain, these dogs would act a bit unusually.

Soon after the heavy rain, a Zombie Tide would reach the perimeter wall.

Animals, naturally, have stronger hearing and sensitivity than humans.

Cats and dogs have hearing several times, even much more, superior to humans.

This gave Li Yu an idea that perhaps some of the animals at the base could be trained as a precaution for future outdoor missions.

However, the training difficulty was quite high, so a long-term plan was needed.

Looking at the little cat, Li Yu asked, ”Has it not made any noise at all?”

Third Uncle nodded, saying, ”Yes, I don’t know if it was born mute or if it knows that making noise could attract zombies.”

While speaking, Third Uncle reached out his hand and stroked the little orange cat’s head.

The cat, feeling Third Uncle’s touch, squinted its eyes in enjoyment, appearing very content.

Watching this scene, Li Yu was somewhat moved and didn’t expect someone like Third Uncle to have such a side.

Suddenly, Third Uncle started talking, ”Old Qin and I followed Xiao Jun and others; one of the branches of the Western Alliance is just in the neighboring province at Juzi Island.”

Hearing that Third Uncle was about to discuss important matters, Li Yu focused and listened attentively.

Third Uncle raised his hand, the little cat rolled over exposing its belly, looking pitifully at Third Uncle.

Seeing this, Third Uncle extended his hand once more to scratch its little belly, while saying:

”It’s an island divided into North and South Districts, each enclosed by walls, about five meters high.

The South District mostly houses refugees, around two thousand people, but there seems to be some management issues, the general mental state isn’t good.

The North District has about three hundred people, equipped with handguns, rifles, and shotguns. The management is lax; also, there are about seventy to eighty soldiers, probably those referred to by Xiao Jun as being led by Tian Rui.

According to Xiao Jun, Tian Rui and Gan Shang should be mutually leading the situation at Juzi Island Head.

Perhaps it’s because of food, or maybe these refugees, or perhaps some other reasons, thus Tian Rui didn’t leave Juzi Island.”

Li Yu listened quietly and then said:

”I understand, I think first we should lay out the existing facts for analysis. What we know now is:

First,

Third Uncle and Uncle Qin followed along and actually saw Xiao Jun coming from Juzi Island, we know their location.”
