Reincarnated as a Mosquito, I Sucked the Reborn Empress to Tears

Chapter 69: Chapter 69: 3 Other Ways to Obtain Evolution Points

“[Melt Heart Demon Spike Lv4] → [Soul-devouring Demon Spike Lv5]: Proboscis attacks are imbued with ’Soul-devouring Nether Flame.’ Upon piercing a target’s body, it can simultaneously burn both flesh and soul, dealing a devastating dual blow!

“[Molten Fire Insect Nest Lv4] → [Nether Flame Insect Nest Lv5]: The insects within the Insect Nest can be enchanted into ’Self-destructive Nether Flame Insects.’ Their explosive power is greatly increased, and they gain a Spiritual Shock effect!

“[Flame Burst Feather Lv3] → [Soul-Bursting Flame Feather Lv4]: The ’Flaming Feather Blades’ launched from your wings are upgraded to ’Nether Flame Feather Blades.’ When they hit a target, the explosion will include a powerful Spiritual Shock effect!”

“Awesome! Invincible!”

Chu Sheng was practically numb with ecstasy. This was a complete, overwhelming upgrade in every single way!

Next, he turned his attention to the last Skill.

[Blood Food Tracking Lv3] → [Nether Vision Lv4]: Skill effect reworked! It’s no longer a simple Blood Food Tracking Skill!

The host can create a Mental Power Realm with a one-kilometer radius, centered on themselves. Within this Realm, nothing can hide!

“Holy crap, this is a real human-shaped radar! Ah, wait… a mosquito-shaped radar!”

Chu Sheng was beyond excited. The significance of this Skill’s upgrade was immense!

Before, he had some reconnaissance ability, but he couldn’t see anything other than creatures with blood!

But now, it was practically the equivalent of a Cultivator’s Divine Thought!

Within its range, nothing could hide!

After taking stock of his gains, Chu Sheng felt the unprecedented, explosive power coursing through his body, and his confidence swelled to an all-time high.

His Qi Blood Value hadn’t changed, but to use a Martial Artist as an analogy, ’It’s like I’ve mastered a whole set of more High-Level Martial Techniques!’

It was no exaggeration to say that his combat power had skyrocketed several times over!

Chu Sheng glanced at the requirements for his next evolution.

2,000 Qi Blood and 350 Evolution Points…

’Two thousand Qi Blood… that’s the threshold for the Third-Grade Early Stage!’

’Going by this pattern… does this mean every evolution from now on will require breaking through to a new Grade?’ Chu Sheng mused.

The difficulty was definitely increasing.

’But, whatever!’

’The difficulty is all relative. At the end of the day, all I have to do is keep sucking blood!’

’I can get stronger and evolve infinitely just by sucking blood!’

’Any expert in this world would kill to have this ability, right?’

Chu Sheng did a quick calculation. ’It’s only been twelve days since I was reborn as a mosquito!’

’To reach this level in less than half a month… my cheat is as OP as it gets!’

Chu Sheng wasn’t greedy. ’As long as I can keep getting stronger at this rate, reaching the world’s Peak is just a matter of time!’

After calming down a little, Chu Sheng began to consider a crucial question.

’Since my Skills can upgrade—or even be completely reworked into something stronger—with every evolution… is there any point in spending precious Evolution Points to upgrade them manually?’

’Isn’t that a total waste?’

’Evolution Points are already a pain to get. Every time, I’ve had more than enough Qi Blood Value, but I’m still way short on Evolution Points and have to desperately search everywhere for blood.’

’If I could save the Evolution Points I’d spend on upgrading Skills, couldn’t I evolve even faster?’

[Ding! To answer the host, you are gravely mistaken.] the system suddenly chimed in.

[The automatic Skill upgrades that occur during evolution are upgrades to their “mechanics.”]

[Upgrades made by consuming Evolution Points, on the other hand, improve a Skill’s “values!”]

[For example, ’Insect Race Space’ automatically upgraded to ’Nether Flame Insect Nest’ over two evolutions, adding powerful mechanics like ’Insect Self-Destruction’ and ’Spiritual Shock’!”]

[However, its internal space and the maximum number of storable insects did not change at all. It’s still one thousand!]

[But if the host chooses to spend Evolution Points to upgrade it separately, each upgrade will double its storage capacity!]

“Oh! I see!”

Chu Sheng instantly understood.

’Looks like upgrading Skills separately is essential after all!’

’After all, even the best mechanics need the numbers to back them up!’

However, Chu Sheng faced another problem.

’The logic makes sense, but the problem is, I really don’t have enough Evolution Points!’

’Every evolution consumes a massive number of Evolution Points. It’s already a huge struggle for me just to scrape together enough points to evolve!’

[Ding! Friendly reminder: Sucking blood is not the only way to obtain Evolution Points!]

“???”

Chu Sheng was stunned. “More than one way? Why didn’t you tell me sooner?!”

The system replied earnestly, [Because previously, you were not worthy!]

Chu Sheng: “???”

’What the fuck!’

’This damn system is making personal attacks?!’

’What do you mean I wasn’t worthy?!’

The system calmly explained, [Besides sucking blood, the host has three additional ways to obtain Evolution Points.]

[Method One: The host can suck the juices of Third-Grade or higher Spirit Grass and Spirit Medicine, extract their Life Essence, and convert it into Evolution Points.]

[However, Spirit Herbs and Elixirs of Third-Grade or higher are usually guarded by powerful Demon Beasts of Third-Grade or higher. The Ink Jade Profound Turtle in the Black Stone Secret Realm was a special case; that Secret Realm’s Spiritual Energy Level was too low, and its strongest Demon Beast was only at the Second-Grade Middle Stage.]

[With your previous strength, attempting to seize Heavenly and Earthly Treasures from a Fourth-Grade Demon Beast would have been suicide!]

Chu Sheng: “…”

[Of course, it’s more or less the same now.]

Chu Sheng: “…”

[Method Two: You can obtain bonus Evolution Points from this system by killing enemies far above your level, but you must defeat an enemy at least two minor realms higher than you!]

[For example, you are currently at the Second-Grade Early Stage. You must personally kill an enemy at the Second-Grade Late Stage or higher to receive a reward.]

[And you were previously far too weak and useless! It would have been absolutely impossible!]

Chu Sheng: “…”

[Method Three: Feedback from your Blood Covenant partner!]

[Each time your Blood Covenant partner, ’Gu Yuexi,’ raises her Qi Blood Realm, she will feed a portion of pure Energy back to you, which will be converted into Evolution Points!]

Hearing this, Chu Sheng was stunned again. “Wait a minute. When was this feature added? She’s upgraded so many times before, so why haven’t I ever gotten any feedback?!”

[This method has a prerequisite. Both the ’Mutual Trust’ and ’Intimacy’ values between you and your Blood Covenant partner must be above 60. The higher the values, the greater the feedback!]

[And previously, in your Blood Covenant partner’s eyes, you were just a worthless, trash mosquito. She had absolutely no trust in you, to say nothing of intimacy.]

[Even now, after a series of events, your Mutual Trust and Intimacy values have only just barely surpassed 60 points!]

Chu Sheng: “…”

System: [Host, are you all right?]

Chu Sheng: “…I’m fine. I just kind of want to die.”

System: [Understood. Formulating a suicide plan for you now!]

Chu Sheng: “…”

He felt like he was about to have a stroke.

’This damn system is definitely doing this on purpose!’

’Fuck!’

’So after all this, it all boils down to me being too useless before?’

’Can I even be blamed for that?!’

’I started out as a damn mosquito! A White-striped Aedes Mosquito with a Lifespan of only a few days, no less! Talk about a disastrous starting hand! It’s a miracle I’ve even survived this long!’
