Reincarnated as a Mosquito, I Sucked the Reborn Empress to Tears

Chapter 56: Chapter 56: Qi Blood Breakthrough to Rank 2! Overtaking the Empress!

The lakeside had fallen completely silent.

Gu Yuexi quietly took stock of the “Life-Buying Money” left behind by the Array Masters, picking out quite a few useful items.

It had to be said, none of those who followed the Cultivation Array Dao came from a simple background.

Meanwhile, Chu Sheng was sprawled across the mangled remains of the Ink Jade Profound Turtle, leisurely waiting for the mouthful of Turtle Blood in his belly to finish digesting.

Twenty minutes later, the system’s notification finally sounded in his mind.

[Ding! Blood digestion complete! You have gained 3.5 Evolution Points! Current Total Evolution Points: 72.4!]

!

Chu Sheng was instantly revitalized and wasted no time.

He immediately aimed his menacing [Melt Heart Demon Spike] at the turtle flesh beneath him and viciously plunged it in!

’One more bite!’

’Just one more bite and I’ll break through!’

SSSZZZT—!

Another boundless surge of Qi Blood Power, like a surging river, poured into his body!

[Ding! You have absorbed 18.9 Qi Blood! Current Total Qi Blood: 501.9!]

[Ding! Your Qi Blood Value has surpassed 500! Tier promoted! Current Tier: Second-Grade Early Stage!]

[Ding! Digesting blood… Estimated time: 20 minutes. Estimated gain after digestion: 3.8 Evolution Points. Projected Total Evolution Points: 76.2!]

’Woohoo! I did it!’

Chu Sheng was ecstatic. It felt as if a volcano had just erupted inside his body!

The Qi Blood Power within him instantly began to boil, surging through his every limb!

A sensation of power, many times stronger than before, flooded his every cell!

He could even clearly feel the dark red markings on his carapace growing brighter and hotter. The waves of air from his flapping wings felt more scorching as well!

Although his Qi Blood had only increased by a dozen or so points, Chu Sheng felt his combat power had at least doubled!

Breaking through a critical Qi Blood threshold to advance in realm wasn’t as simple as a mere increase in stats!

It was a comprehensive enhancement!

’Woohoo! This feels amazing!’

’If I ran into a Peak First-Grade Martial Artist like Liu Ming now, a single [Flame Burst Feather] would be enough to kill him instantly! He wouldn’t even get a chance to use a Secret Technique!’

Chu Sheng’s heart pounded with excitement.

At the exact moment he broke through…

Gu Yuexi, who was in the middle of sorting through the spoils, abruptly froze.

She snapped her head up, her cool eyes locking onto the mosquito in the distance. Her gaze was filled with incredible shock and a kind of… almost numb bewilderment.

’This aura…’

’Second-Grade Early Stage?!’

’It… It broke through again?!’

Gu Yuexi felt as if her brain had been scoured clean, her thoughts grinding to a halt.

’She… a reincarnated Empress, had risked everything to practice a Forbidden Evil Technique. Even with the experience of her past life, it had taken her a full week since her rebirth to painstakingly cultivate from the First-Grade Early Stage to the Peak of First-Grade.’

’For a Martial Artist practicing a normal Cultivation Technique, such speed would be enough to shock the entire Great Xia Federation. They’d be hailed as a peerless prodigy, the likes of which hadn’t been seen in a millennium!’

’But this mosquito?’

’It did nothing but drink blood, sleep, and drink more blood…’

’And now its power had skyrocketed, soaring to the point where it had… even surpassed her?!’

Gu Yuexi couldn’t help but recall the first time she saw this mosquito at her home, just over a week ago.

Back then, it was just an ordinary White-striped Aedes Mosquito with a Qi Blood Value of a mere 0.01 and a Lifespan of only a few days. It was one of the weakest, most insignificant creatures in the world.

And now?

Now, it was a powerful Demon Beast that had reached the Second-Grade Early Stage—a terrifying existence capable of effortlessly crushing even a Peak First-Grade Martial Artist!

And all this had happened in less than half a month!

’What… What in the world is this monster?’

The corner of Gu Yuexi’s mouth twitched. She felt as if this mosquito had once again taken her entire perception of reality, slammed it on the ground, and stomped it into dust.

She took a deep breath, forcibly suppressing the storm raging in her heart. Her voice was slightly hoarse and numb as she asked:

“Are… you going to drink more blood?”

“Should we leave first? I don’t want to waste any more time here. We need to find a place to refine the Spiritual Crystal.”

“BZZZ BZZZ? (’This thing is huge! It would be such a waste not to finish it!’)”

Chu Sheng looked at the Profound Turtle’s carcass, which was still more than half intact, feeling a little reluctant to leave it.

’This is all precious Qi Blood and Evolution Points right here!’

’Maybe… I can put it in the Beast Taming Pouch and get it to-go?’

The moment that thought occurred to him, he felt the Beast Taming Pouch at Gu Yuexi’s waist tremble slightly.

Immediately after, a childish-sounding thought, filled with excitement and longing, came through their vague Bloodline connection.

“Awoo~! (’A buffet? Is it a buffet from Mama for me?!’)”

Chu Sheng: “…”

’Who are you calling Mama?!’

’Come on, man!’

’A mosquito and a lion forming a Bloodline connection? How the hell is that even possible?’

Gu Yuexi glanced at him, apparently having guessed his thoughts.

She walked over to the Profound Turtle’s carcass and stuffed all the Qi Blood-filled remains into Liu Ming’s Storage Pouch.

“BZZZ BZZZ! (’Perfect! It’s safe in there!’)” Chu Sheng nodded in satisfaction; he had no desire to give a free meal to that little idiot who was calling everyone “Mama”!

Gu Yuexi rolled her eyes, speechless.

Then, with Chu Sheng in tow, she began to move stealthily toward the deepest and most desolate area of the Secret Realm.

It was a barren wasteland of jagged rocks, with almost no vegetation or water. Demon Beasts rarely frequented it, and the other participants were unlikely to visit such a godforsaken place.

After all, the whole point of the assessment was to kill Demon Beasts for Points.

Gu Yuexi figured that in her past life, Liu Ming had most likely refined the Spiritual Crystal right here.

Soon, the human and the mosquito found a hidden cave.

Gu Yuexi set up a simple warning and Concealing Array at the entrance before heading deeper into the cave. Only then did she carefully retrieve the Spiritual Crystal from her Storage Pouch.

HUMMM—!

The moment the crystal appeared, the entire dim cave was instantly bathed in a soft, sacred starlight.

As Gu Yuexi gazed at the crystal in her hand, which shimmered with a brilliant, flowing starlight, an irrepressible fervor and excitement finally surged into her cool eyes.

She could even see that the light radiating from the crystal was semi-corporeal, like shimmering wisps of stardust swirling around it.

This was a sign of Energy that had reached the absolute pinnacle of purity!

’If I can just absorb this… my talent for Mental Power will take another qualitative leap!’

Gu Yuexi’s heart couldn’t help but beat a little faster.

’My Mental Power talent in my past life was hailed as the greatest of all time, but that was only on the path of Beast Taming!’

’If I wanted to cultivate other branches like Arrays or becoming a Spiritual Mind Master, I could achieve some success, but reaching the King-level would be nigh impossible, to say nothing of the far-off Emperor Realm!’

’But if I can elevate my Mental Power talent even further… maybe in this life, I won’t have to wait for my Qi Blood to reach Fifth-Grade to abandon the dead-end path of the *Ten Thousand Beasts Melting Furnace Technique*!’

’Perhaps… I can master every branch of Mental Power and become a supreme expert who cultivates the three paths of Arrays, Mind Mastery, and Beast Taming simultaneously!’

’Moreover, after absorbing this Spiritual Crystal, my Spiritual Realm is bound to break through to Second-Grade! Then, my control over this mosquito will be even stronger!’

At this thought, Gu Yuexi subconsciously glanced at Chu Sheng, who was perched on her shoulder. The corners of her lips curled into a slightly arrogant smile.

’Hmph. So what if your Qi Blood Power is rising at an absurd rate? So what if your strength is ridiculous?’

’In the realm of Mental Power, I will always be the ruler!’

’As long as the Blood Covenant exists, you can never escape my grasp!’

Just then, however, she suddenly felt her shoulder lighten.

The mosquito had taken flight at some point and landed directly on the Spiritual Crystal in her hand.

Then, as Gu Yuexi watched with a frozen, stupefied gaze…

it aimed its crimson proboscis at the crystal’s surface and took a gentle suck.

“BZZZ BZZZ! (’What are you mumbling to yourself about? If you’re not going to absorb this, then I will!’)”
